Mr. Wilson showed up promptly for an estimate of the services needed. He seemed to understand exactly what I was asking for...in that I specifically needed the nutsedge to be SPRAYED with groundclear, while all the other weeds merely needed pulling. ( With a cast on my leg, I wasn't able to keep up with the weeds overtaking the border areas of the yard, & it was getting embarrassing)! I explained that I would provide sprayer bottles of the groundclear product, & snippers, and that I had more than enough concentrate to keep the spray bottles filled. All I needed from him was the manpower to get the job finished. I thought the price a bit steep for just the borders of the front yard, but he explained - and rightly so- that with the extra time & effort needed to CUT & SPRAY the nutsedge, it would cost more than he might have usually charged. On the date agreed, he & his associate showed up propmtly, and I laid out the equipment & supplies - as agreed - for dealing with the nutsedge. He assured me the procedure was understood, and they got right to work. Not wanting to be a hovering pest, I went back inside, and back to some computer work. 2 hours later, I came out thru the garage to peek @ the progress, and discovered that the things I'd put out for their use hadn't been touched! Hoping against hope, I hobbled over to their location (perhaps they brought their own sprayers?)....and found them busy @ PULLING the sedge grass! [He said "did you know this stuff pops right out"?] "Yes", I said, "I know - but if you DO pull it right out - it comes back , WORSE! That's why I asked you to CUT & SPRAY it - because that's the only way you can really KILL it!....THAT'S why you're charging me EXTRA, remember?" We went back to the place in the driveway, where I'd laid out the spraying things, and he ASSURED me that, from now on, they would CERTAINLY be following that request. Several hours later, he rang the doorbell to tell me they were done and I went out the front door to see their truck bed piled w/weeds. I paid him the agreed amount plus a small tip, which was all that I could afford; he also agreed to return, once a month, to edge my front yard, @ an agreed upon price, & put the bill in the mailbox if we weren't here. Imagine my chagrin -at having been taken advantage of- when I went to close the garage & found, once again, that the sprayers & snippers hadn't been touched! Not only were they in the same spot, NONE of the mixed spray or the gallon of concentrate was missing/used! I suppose that, @ age 62, I've grown too complacent & trusting....I really did WANT to believe that man...so in a way this could be part my responsibility for not overriding them the whole time. But they DID agree to perform a SPECIFIC service, and they totally did NOT do it. Consequently, of course, the nutsedge HAS come back...(within 2 weeks of being removed - improperly- ) and is, as pedicted, WORSE. Now I will have to, yet again, find someone to do the job...and probably agree to pay MORE, because it's so much worse. Rest assured that I will get the entire job written up in advance, VERY SPECIFICALLY, with the notation that they will get a drastically reduced fee if it's not done as requested! I would recommend that if anyone hires this service, they do just that...get the estimate in advance, IN WRITING, w/ any SPECIFIC services spelled-out, and the stipulation that if they're NOT followed, the fee will be reduced. Both parties should sign...maybe even with a witness. Since he DIDN'T do the job I asked, he really SHOULD have reduced the fee. Not to mention, (but I will, anyway), he promised to come back once a month for edging....that was nearly 2 months ago, but he hasn't returned. Lesson learned - by me - Don't trust anyone, & get everything you want in writing.
Description of Work: Weeds needed to be pulled, and cut & sprayed (for the nutsedge only), in my FRONT yard, only. All the weeds were coming up in the border areas, thru bark nuggets, and would pop out easily.

Well enough that I'd have them back--just with greater emphasis on communication.
Description of Work: Mowed lawn that was way too long. Forgot to mow along the sidewalk, but came back and did that. Discussed some flower bed work to be included in the price, but that later turned out to be a misunderstanding.

Everything went great. They did a wonderful job as they always do. They are always on time and professional, and clean up really well. They do the job well and thoroughly, and they never leave a mess, even removing all of the grass clippings. We have been very happy with them.
Description of Work: They have done our lawn mowing for around a year, and have done additional work for us as well. Most recently, they cleared an approximately 500 square feet section of brush, weeds, and bushes, and then installed pavers along the fence line. They hauled away all of the yard waste. They also delivered and installed a truckload of mulch, and installed a swingset as well, which included digging the holes and pouring the concrete.

This job was done extremely well and on time. Mr. Wilson and his crew were on time and worked for over 5 hours. Mr. Wilson called me before and after the job to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. He also would not take any payment until the work was done. His price was 20% less than a well-known local tree service charged, and the results were much better. I am already recommending him to all my friends.
Description of Work: Cut down half a dozen honeysuckle bushes, poison ivy, additional weeds, and volunteer trees in a 100 by 6 foot area along the fence line, left soil raked and ready for mulch or planting. Cleared two raised beds, (approx. 100 additional sq. ft.) of all weeds and turned soil for planting. Removed all yard waste, including approximately 200 cu. ft. of yard waste (including Christmas tree!) previously piled by homeowner. Filled a 16 by 6 foot trailer 4 feet high and took to composting center. Moved all lawn furniture, shepherd's hooks, tomato cages, etc., back in place when finished.
