+ -1 moreThey did a great job. The owner was excellent. It's a family owned business. They were very professional. I brought up about Angie's List; it was like a discount if I was a member. At first, they said that ended, and they brought over the owner. The owner said that it was still on the system and that they were going to give us the discount. The customer service, the workmanship and the guy that installed the door; overall it's a great door and great product. It is expensive, but they did a great job. If I buy any doors or windows, I would probably go with them. Even though they are expensive, we know that they are going to do great quality. The owner was very friendly and a very nice guy. With regard to price, it's a good product.

+ -1 moreWe've had a leaky door and the company that installed it kept denying it was the door. They replaced it 3x and it still leaked. We had other companies refuse to replace the door. Evergreen said they could replace the door and we found a door that we liked. When Evergreen pulled the door out, the track was full of water. Evergreen replaced our door and we haven't had a problem since.

Representative came to my home at another location and I appreciated not having to travel to the unit to get estimate. They continued to follow up and assist in getting the approval from condo board. We are satisfied with the service and would use them again.

+ 1 moreEvergreen's estimate was a little higher than other companies we contacted, BUT the opener they were suggesting was better and they included the replacement of the rotted wood around the door. That made their estimate the best value. When the workers came out they completed the work on the door and opener and removed the old door and opener while we were at work. Just came home and found the new door. Everything was cleaned up beautifully. But the rotted wood was still there. We called them and they told us that different workers would be out soon to replace the wood. Sure enough, in about a week the wood was replaced and flashed with aluminum. Now the garage looks great, and the new opener is terrific too.
Description of Work: They replaced the garage door and the opener on a 2 car garage. They also replaced rotted wood around the door.

+ 0 moreHe showed us everything we needed to know about the doors. I was very pleased with everything, especially the beautiful new doors.
Description of Work: We had 2 very old storm doors that had to be replaced. At the showroom I saw the doors and was able to try out how they worked. The kind of doors I picked were something I did not even know about. The doors are very easy to change from glass to screen and the screens roll up and store in the door when you have the glass in the opening. A sales representative came to the house, exactly on time to measure and show us exactly what would be done. The doors came in when he said they would and were installed a few days later. The installer was right on time and worked non-stop until everything was done and cleaned up. He removed all the old doors and things he had to remove. He even put new doorbells and fixed the one doorbell that did not work.

+ 0 moreMike, a salesman with the company for 20 years, treated my mother like a mother. She’s in an old school neighborhood. I have no problems with him. We had another company come out and they talked over her. My mom is 86. She didn’t know what he was talking about. This guy I had no complaints with. We are definitely having him install the windows. He quoted me 4 doors and 6 windows. He was $1,500 less than the other company’s quote on just 4 doors. They are doing the work next week.

They showed up on time and gave us an estimate as well as explaining what windows would work best for the room as well as the location of the windows on our house. The day of installation they were here on time, did the job quickly and professionally . Upon completion they went over their work and explained to me how the windows worked and asked me if I had any concerns or questions. I plan on having them again for more windows as well as doors.

+ -1 moreIt was a really good price but when I told him I had a discount from Angie's List he said I could only use cash. He wouldn't honor the discount unless I paid with cash. These companies should stop discounts out on the website if they won't honor them.

+ -1 morePros: I went to showroom initially to make selections. The company offers many styles and colors of entry and security/storm doors. The day of install the contractor was very professional and knowledgable and gave me recommendations for maintenance. The installer cleaned the work area afterwards. The new doors look great! Cons: The lock and knob selection is very limited. Door brands are limited. Initial install date was rescheduled because they were delayed at another job. The doors we selected were pricey considering they weren't the top national brands. The Evergreen installer put the old security door in alley without asking and metal scavengers took it before we could recycle.

+ -1 moreFirst and main problem - salesperson was great; installers spoke very little English, mostly Polish. We were given an install date on the front and dining room windows, and had trouble nailing the actual date down. The installers paid no attention to my new shrubbery under the outside of the front room windows, which were stepped on and smashed. The non-English speaking installers of the patio doors in the kitchen could not tell us how to work the interior blinds; were condescending ("Lady, we are not finished"), and very annoying. Now the drawstrings that raise and lower the kitchen patio doors are stripping, and I fear on the verge of breaking. Do not use this vendor - unless you can be as intimidating as their Polish speaking installers. BTW, I am of Polish descent, but don't understand the language.

+ -1 moreFrom the quote process to work installation: top notch. Evergreen had installed several windows in the house before I owned it. I was impressed with the quality of the work--the home is an 1895 cottage in Pilsen and the windows Evergreen had previously installed were airtight--and reached out for the next round of installations. Possibly not the cheapest, but a great selection of products, knowledgeable and responsive staff, terrific service, and excellent installers. I've recommended the company to others and all have had good experiences (including an historic, custom installation). The price was high $2,000 to mid-$3,000.

+ -1 moreNever had any work done. Went to a different company and the door is now on order.
Description of Work: We needed a steel security door installed so we looked up door and window companies and found Evergreen on Angies list. Well, they had very high ratings and many good customer reviews. So we went and talked to a salesman pick out a door style, and set up a time for them to come out and measure for the new door. In the meantime i had removed some of the old rotted trim and replaced it with new boards. So when they came out to measure they were kind of surprised that we had done that,but took the measurements anyway we talked for a while and were given a written quote of $1500. We thought that was kind of high but said go ahead we were also told we could stop by the office and drop off the check, no talk of deposit, the whole check even before anything was done. Evergreen was supposed to send out someone last Tue for another measurement. But Tue came and went, no one came out there were no calls no nothing. Thur I sent an email asking what the status was on the door. Well they called back while I was out, my father took the message, and told me they demanded more money, lucky for us we had not given them a dime yet. I was not happy when I heard what they did I called the office back and they said that salesmen was not there but would return my call. Well I sent them an Email stating that we are not giving them any more money and gave them till 7 pm Friday night to return the call which they did not. So I said we are done you don't demand anything from us. We have been dealing with contractors since 1965 good and bad and one of the many things we have have learned through the years, is we don't pay upfront until the job is done. Also when you give a written price on a job we will hold you to that, you don't call and ask for more money. They cut their own throats by doing that. I don't know how they got an A rating but from our experience we give them a D.

+ -1 moreThey were fantastic. We have an older house and we did not want vinyl panels ,we wanted wood. They were able to put in the wood with no problems at all. They were easy to schedule with and they came out in time. There was more plaster damage around the window than expected, which is somewhat expected. The salesman did somewhat minimize the damage. It's not a major concern. They took everything down and started from scratch pretty much. The whole experience was very good. he windows look great. I have not had to contact then about any questions and concerns. They did initially bring the right color screws, but they were quick to realize their mistake. They did everything they were suppose to. They cleaned up after themselves.They are absolute pros. It took about 3-4 days. They are every to communicate with. Their bid was the most honest. I feel like we were both on the same page about the job, and that's what made me choose them.

+ -1 moreI was really disappointed with them and how they handled it. I then had someone else come out to install the windows.
Description of Work: They did work for us in the past. About a year ago we had a problem with one of the windows and we also wanted to get a quote on having other windows installed. They told us previously when they originally did the windows, not to worry about anything and if we had any problems with our windows we could call them. I called them and they said they had no record of ever dealing with us and that they weren't going to help us.
