About us

In the late 1970’s Richard Wolter started building custom cabinets for family and friends. It wasn’t long before he realized he had more interest in his cabinets than a part time job could fulfil so in 1984 he quit his job and started what is now Wolter’s Custom Cabinets. Since that time, he has been custom designing and building cabinets, bookcases, entertainment centers, bathrooms, kitchens, home offices and other custom pieces all around the southern Illinois and metro St. Louis area. At the beginning of 2011 Wolter’s Custom Cabinets officially entered into it’s second generation of ownership when Rich’s son Glenn joined the team to continue what his father started. Wolter’s Custom Cabinets specializes in affordable custom kitchens and baths, using your choice of Red Oak, White Oak, Maple, Cherry, Hickory, Walnut, or Pecan. Every job is custom designed to meet your taste and design needs. From stain matching to custom moldings, there are no design requirements that can not be met. He makes them in his shop and they are so much better than any of the cabinets you buy in a store. It took a little time for him to give me a bid, which I was willing to accept. He is not cheap but his stuff is gorgeous. He showed me virtual designs, went over the way he crafts his cabinets, told me why they were better and it made sense. Timeliness would be a "B". I called him and he called me back. He didn't have something ready for me and he told me why.
Description of Work: For cabinets I am going to use Wolter's Custom Cabinets. I have not ordered theses yet but I am on his list.
