The tree looked great when they were done. They did a good job of clean up afterwards. I was happy with the work, and it cost a little less than I expected.

Everything went well. Got a quick (what turned out to be an) accurate quote. I would use them again.

Crew was very professional. Pruned and lowered branches properly onto the ground. Cleaned up when they were finished. Definitely will hire again.

Had a appointment for estimate. No one showed or called to cancel or reschedule.

Went well, Work crew was very professional and showed up exactly on time. Did a nice job removing the limbs I had requested, plus a bit extra. They cleaned and made the yard look better than when they arrived. Very pleased. The bid was very reasonable and fair.

It went really well. They were on time and professional. The only downside was I had to chase them by calling them a lot to make the work happen.

I am very impressed with this company, from their responsiveness to their excellent standard of work. Mr. Martinez quickly responded to my voicemail and we set up a time the next day to meet at my house to review the work. He arrive promptly and was able to quickly assess the work and give me a ballpark cost. Although I am not an arborist, I work with municipal tree crews and I have a decent understanding of basic tree work. Mr. Martinez is a certified arborist, which means that he’s passed the rigorous training and testing required to achieve this professional certification. I was very impressed with his quick grasp of my general needs and his ability to discuss the pros and cons and recommend the best approach to the work. He sent me a proposal for the work later the same day. The cost was very reasonable, slightly less than his ballpark estimate (and considerably less than that quoted by several large, high-profile regional tree companies), so I was happy to sign the proposal and set up a time the following week to have the work done. His crew (of 4 men) arrived promptly at the scheduled time and reviewed the scope with me. I was very happy to see that they used all recommended safety equipment (helmets, ear and eye protection, climbing saddles, tie-off ropes, etc.). They performed the work quickly but always using proper equipment and techniques (undercutting limbs to reduce tearing at the trunk, etc.), cleaning up as they went. They also kept an eye on the alley, which they were blocking with their truck and other equipment; several times they cheerfully and quickly moved their vehicles so my neighbors could exit their garages without any waiting. Once the majority of the work was complete, they reviewed it with me, and did a bit more additional pruning at my request. When the tree work was complete, they did a great job of cleaning up all the debris, including blowing the sawdust off my walkways and patio; they also cleaned up debris and sawdust from my neighbor’s yard, as much of the work involved removing branches overhanging my neighbor’s property. This is was a great experience; I would highly recommend Progressive Tree Services to anyone needing tree work!

Outstanding. Progressive was the first service to respond to the request for quotes, and they provided the most realistic quote for a very difficult job. Two enormous red oaks needed removal, one standing and one fallen - both in a ravine that is difficult to access. Progressive brought in a crane to support the job, and they maneuvered it masterfully through other trees with only inches to spare. They were timely, efficient, and friendly. They also went above and beyond by reserving/cutting several logs for firewood. Progressive also left the area very clean. They have my highest recommendation.

We had a large birch tree in front of our house partly collapse. The rest of the tree was in danger of falling and causing a risky situation. Progressive tree service was able to get us a quote quickly and come remove the tree on short notice. They were quite professional and safely downed the remaining portions of the tree without any additional damage to house or properly. In addition, per my request they cut the tree into firewood length rounds and stacked it neatly in the yard to season. Excellent service I plan on using them again.

Team was quick and efficient. They showed up and made quick work of the row of trees we needed removed. They had no problem adding a trimming task to their workload for the day. Cost was reasonable given the size of the job 14 arbors+2 huge trimming jobs).

Terrible, see above. I would not recommend this service provider nor would I recommend purchasing an Angie's list deal. Totally unacceptable service from both.

Excellent results. In addition to trimming the trees, they also recommended we cable two very large branches together to avoid one falling on our house during storms. Have recommended to family and would also hire again.

I spoke to Juan and he came over in less than an hour to see what needed to be done. Because this was a very small job, he explained that it might be a while before they could get to it. After waiting a few weeks I called a few times and got a hold of him. They came and did the trimming but forgot one branch so we did that again. They did a great job. Now I don't have to worry that my trees will take down the neighbor's fence or my power

Great. Juan is a certified arborist. He is clearly very knowledgeable and professional. Crew communicated well, and cleaned up after each visit. They came when they said they would and did what they said they would do. They were careful about safety (harnesses, cherry picker). We got good advice and excellent service.

I bought the service in February. I said in my comment section that I wanted it done in the spring. Obviously, February's too early you shouldn't trim trees in the winter. I never heard from the people, here it is June. I got in touch with the guy, he said "Sorry about that we've been really busy, when can I come?" I gave him a date; he showed up. He called me from the site, he said: "We're here." It's just one tree. The guy made a killing. He said we'll take care of it. I came back. These guys, a lot of time, don't do a good cleanup job, there's twigs and branches. They did a superb cleanup job. So, I was real happy with the guy. He was great. The only thing is he didn't put it on his paperwork from February to do the job. That's the only problem. Once he got the notice, we contacted each other we set a date and showed up on time. He did the job, and he did a really good cleanup job, so overall A. He showed up when he said he would

Really nice guys. Professional. Even raked up the smallest of the twigs that we're left from the pile and hauled them away too.

We needed a very large cottonwood tree removed (including stump grinding) plus the installation of a cable on another one of our old trees. We received more than 8 quotes ranging from $3,800 to $10,000 for the work. Juan from Progressive was extremely responsive to our original request for a quote, personally came out to look at the tree within 48 hours of my initial contact, and took time to explain how his crew would handle the removal. His pricing was fair and clear (his quote fell on the lower quadrant of the range). He proactively provided copies of his company's insurance and workers' compensation policies, and on the day of removal his crew could not have been more professional, clean and methodical (and safe!). My B rating for responsiveness is only because after he provided the quote he got extremely busy (probably because he's so good at his job) and I had difficulty getting a removal date confirmed. However, he gets extra points for his overall professionalism and for doing exactly what he said he do (he's the kind of guy who's as good as his word). He even provided me with recommendations for landscapers. I highly recommend and will definitely use Progressive in the future for any of our tree needs.

Progressive was called the next day and their representative came within 4 hours of the call to assess the situation. After permission was obtained to remove the tree, Progressive was notified Saturday afternoon and promised to be there Sunday around noon. They came two hours EARLY with the proper equipment and crew to efficiently remove the tree. They were fast and took great care not to damage the surrounding landscape. They cleaned up very well and were on their way to the next job as they were very busy with storm damage around the area. They are very professional and we recommend them and would call them again.

Juan came out and gave us a great price for two trees. First date for removal was cancelled due to Chicago storms, but Juan professionally prioritized our removal and scheduled us in 2wks after our estimate. Once his crew arrived they did a great job working around power lines and phone lines, despite the narrow lot. His crew took down two trees with no damage to property, The crew was very professional, and maintained their safety at all times. Debris was removed and area was kept clean. We will definitely recommend to others because we had a great experience with Juan and his team. An alternate tree estimator we found on google, came out and painted a difficult picture to have the trees removed because of the narrow lot and no access for their equipment also their quote was much higher approx. over $5,000 with mention of damage to near by trees if they were not dug up and moved, also power lines needing to be dropped. We received a Progressive Tree service business card from our neighbor and gave them a call Juan came out looked at the job, reviewed the space and quoted a great price, said it could be done with lines in place and surrounding trees. They are licensed and insured, and very professional.

Juan came out to make an inspection, but never submitted a quote. Several attempts to contact him were futile
