As usual, Mihai & Norpro Services did a wonderful job. First of all, they recommended a place for us to buy our new tile (a place we were already familiar with), because there was a sale going on. We chose a beautiful marble hexagonal tile that looks great with the vintage design of our powder room. They were meticulous about removing the old tile, and laying a new subfloor. The process does take time, but they explained every step to my husband as they went along. Finally, they installed our new tile...which looks gorgeous! As usual, they were very clean about their work, keeping the dust level down and the floor free of debris. I would & will recommend Norpro Services to anyone needing bathroom re-tiling.

NorPro was the lowest bidder of the three I got from Angie's List and took on the demolition job. At first I was dismayed because they said it would take 3 weeks, and I had family coming to visit. In fact, they could have done it all - demolition, carpentry to rebuild and reinforce the walls, including adding insulation, installing new tile, painting, shower equipment, and new vanity, as well as widening the door for a closet in the adjacent bedroom - in about 9 days. The contractor had his workmen coming in like clockwork, doing their jobs, and moving on. Once the job was started, the contractor and his workmen were regularly there; there were none of the disappearing acts that I'd heard contractors habitually do. Phone calls were immediately answered and changes in specs were quickly resolved to my satisfaction. At all times, the contractor was courteous and solicitous of my opinion and taste ("You are the owner, it's what you want that's important!"), he had good, loyal workmen. In the end, there was a delay of more than two weeks due to my own ordering of tiles and some of the bathroom equipment. At no time did NorPro complain about such delays but accommodated to the changed schedule. In sum, I had heard horror stories about contractors but found that none of those were true in the case of NorPro; in fact, it was quite the opposite, they made the whole process quite smooth and friendly.

The job went very smooth and was very well executed. Mihai managed numerous skilled workers (plumber, electrician, tile mason, carpenter, painters, and fixture installers) on a very tight schedule. The work for this full bathroom needed to be performed in sequential steps utilizing all his specialists in a certain order to complete the overall job. Mihia's tile mason, Marian, did a fantastic job gutting the whole bathroom in one day. Afterward, he laid out the three different types of tile for the shower wall, shower floor, and the bathroom floor. The quality of the work was excellent and done in an expedient manner. Mihai's experienced plummer rerouted the sink drains so that we could install a custom vanity that we picked out from a supplier he works with. We received a 10% discount through his account on the vanity and all the bathroom fixtures we ordered. The electrician did a wonderful job of rerouting the wiring and installing new lighting and dimmer switches. Overall, I am very impressed with the work that Mihai and his team performed. They are hard working and very experienced in their trade crafts. They all were all polite, professional, nice and most important, they provided to me a beautifully remodeled bathroom.

Mihai and his crew did a fantastic job. First, Mihai explained exactly what needed to be repaired and why. He reviewed the flooring from the surface and from below, via the basement, to make sure his recommended action and pricing was accurate. Then he acted as a contractor, arranging for craftsmen (I mean that term--the work was excellent) to replace the subfloor and install tile and threshold. Mihai also did some aspects of this work and was present to check on the progress of his employees. The final result is wonderful. I'm already planning to ask Mihai for another estimate on rehab work.

Process went very well. They were very professional and truly cared that the job was done correctly. I was very happy with the work performed.

From the first meeting with Mihai, my husband and I have been absolutely thrilled with the work of Norpro. From day one, Mihai has been incredibly responsive, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. We found his prices to be very reasonable and the craftsmanship of all projects to be outstanding. Mihai always responded to emails and phone calls immediately. In the end, all of the projects we had done have turned out to be just stunning. We were particularly impressed with all of the tilework his team completed. I can't say enough good things about Norpro and Mihai. We will certainly use them again for any future projects would recommend them without reservation to any family or friend.

We had a large hole in our bathroom floor, due to three consecutive plumbing projects. The last project left a hole so large that you could see the living room downstairs, through the hole in the floor! We needed someone who would patch the hole, replace the tile, and also replace miscellaneous broken/cracked tiles throughout the bathroom (our 1913 house has an extra-sturdy bathroom floor, with layers of lathe & plaster, 3? of cement, plus two layers of tile). We called Norpro, and Mihai came out, assessed the situation, and gave us an estimate which seemed quite reasonable, considering the scope of the job. Mihai was very polite, and willing to work with us on scheduling the project, even when we had to change dates, due to (our) work schedules. The first day of the project, Mihai and his assistant came in, and got right to work, patching the living room ceiling, then laying a substrate in the bathroom, upon which to layer the cement. At the end of the work day, they cleaned up after themselves, sweeping up debris, then wiping the floor down. You would never have known that any workmen had been there, it was so clean! The second day, they laid tile over the patched area, then replaced various chipped/broken tiles throughout the bathroom. Again, they cleaned up after the work. I would highly recommend Norpro?their workmen did a wonderful job. We will be calling again soon to get an estimate for repairing the floor tile in our downstairs powder room.

Found them here originally. They did a great job installing the glass mosaic backsplash. They worked with us on our undercounter lighting and ensured the existing wires didn't get pushed back into the wall. Overall, very pleased! Their price was also right in line with others that we called.

After providing a rough estimate of the job after an e-mail description of the job, the contractor viewed the room in person the following day (a Sunday) and confirmed the estimate. On Tuesday, the contractor arrived promptly at 9:00, as agreed, and began removing the existing tile. The new tile was then installed. The following day, the tile was grouted, again with the contractor arriving promptly at 9:00. On both workdays, the apartment was thoroughly cleaned up, and no mess was left behind. The work appears to be of high quality.

I couldn't have asked for a more organized and coordinated effort by Mihai and his group of workers. They were always on time and a day never went by that something wasn't accomplished -- and done perfectly. Fortunately, i had only a few minor problems, but when something did arise, a good solution was found. It took only six days to take down the old and replace with the new. I was very happy with the entire experience.

Very well. Norm is comfortable getting down into the details of a job, and this is very important to me. His tiling folks are excellent, and that was critical on a job where the floor tiles would be perfectly flat as used in the 1940s, not softened at the sides with pillow edges (which are far easier to install).

The work went very well. I had other bids that were a little lower but I decided to go with norm because I felt he was easy to deal with, which I found to be true. His crew was professional and very courteous. They were also very neat. I would say I was pleased with the outcome of the work. They installed a new shower, vanity, lighting and painting.

Positive: Received quote as promised Painters cleaned up after themselves pretty well (had to wipe done areas on floor, but mostly clean) Negative: Price higher than comparable quotes, but went with him because he was highly rated. Inconsistent communication, email back & forth over multiple dates that included an agreed upon date and nobody showed up. Not a good communication experience at all, at times replies in 'CAPS', not professional or pleasant. Work done was fine overall, however the painters needed to be reminded what was agreed upon, and did not appear to have been told. Their english was as limited as my spanish. Work was delayed because I travel for work and there were children home from college in the room to be painted. The painters were NOT asked to do work that was not in the contract, in fact I had to print up the agreed upon contract to show them what was agreed upon.

Responsible and responsive workers. Norm, the owner, is very responsive and experienced in the business. The jobs are not inexpensive, but high quality work.

Everything went well. The gentleman was very professional, thorough, and responsive. I chose not to use him, though, because his price was too high.

He suggested replacing the facing on the fireplace. He was fine. He was late in getting back. He arrived on time. He spent time in discussing the project. He was very professional. I gave the work to someone else. I would use him in the future.

The whole bid process was fine but the price was just too high.

We had a wonderful experience. I called and spoke to Norman Persky, the company owner and he came to do an estimate. He was very professional and seemed to know exactly what he was doing. His schedule was very busy but he was able to fit our relatively small job in when we needed it done to put our home on the market. Everyone in the crew worked professionally as well. The plumbing work was with a sub who did a great job (whom I also would have contacted again had we not moved out of town). The crew kept the area neat and the dust from the tile removal remained in the bathroom. I believe Norman Persky is a person of integrity and would recommend his company without hesitation.

He was incredibly courteous, really nice and his estimate was very fair. I did not use him because I ended up using an old friend.

Norm renovated our tiny bathroom a few years ago and we were happy with the result. We decided to get an estimate from him and his bid was very reasonable (plus he was licensed to deal with old lead paint on wall removed for pass-through). They performed the work in about 3 weeks. It went very well and they even corrected a few unforeseen problems (i.e., plumbing drainage and gas connection to stove needed to be brought up to code). My only suggestions to Norm would have been to give us a time line of how the work was going to be done so we could have been a little more prepared. We were able to contact him with various questions either by phone or email with little problems. In the end, the kitchen turned out beautiful and we are very happy.

Norm is very responsive and communicative, both by phone and email. The estimate was the most reasonable of those I elicited from providers, the work was all completed within the time frames agreed upon. They showed up when they said they would, cleaned up afterwords, and were a pleasure to work with throughout. His guys are friendly and efficient. There were no surprises, additional required services were explained. No pushing for unnecessary work. Norm clearly has a good reputation - suppliers all commented on him favorably. I would totally use Norpro again and have recommended the company to neighbors. As these things go, this was all relatively painless thanks to Norm and his staff. The floor looks great. Thanks, guys.

Everything generally went well. Only two problems: 1. Kitchen vent became blocked by refrigerator after the remodel. 2. One-year-old washer/dryer unit lids were damaged by workers stepping on them. Norm did not acknowledge nor compensate for this damage when brought to his attention.

To start with, several weeks before the project began, Norm told us they would start on Feb. 22 and they actually did. We were impressed with every member of Norpro's team from start to finish. Each of the main guys on the team were hard working, respectful and skilled in their work. Additional services, like electrical and plumbing were equally impressive. All of the members of Norpro's team seemed to have extensive histories with Norm (like 15 years plus). Norm himself came to the project every single day to check in and was also incredibly responsive via phone and email throughout. One of us was home every single day of the project so we had opportunity to really observe the process, the work and all of the people involved. We could not have asked for a better experience.

The owner gave a bid that was fairly complete and competitive. It seemed everything would work out fine. On several ocassions I had to call up the owner to report things like drywall being used where greenboard should have been used. There was some sloppiness like a 3/4" gap between the lip of the tub and the drywall, way too large a gap based on my experience. Even though I noted on the wall and on paper where thing slike towel rack should be hung I had to do this repeatedly. In general they were timely with their work. There were some cracks in grout just weeks after installation. They did come out and fix them after I called and e-mailed a few times. Light fixtures were not hung level. They had to come back out. In the end the bathroom looks good and I believe the quality is good. However, I am not sure this would have been the case if I had not caught a number of problems myself. I might have given a B- rating but on the whole cannot say "good." Just "fair" because of the process.

Norm was quick to respond and professional from the start. During our initial walk through, he was up front and honest, provided ideas and a clear definition of the work. He provided an estimate quickly and was very reasonable as compared to the competition. With construction/remodeling, communication is key. Throughout our project, Norm was easy to reach, shared next steps and provided regular progress reports. Most importantly, the work was completed on time and within our budget – no surprises.
