Dave showed up on time, did a great job fixing our toilet. We are very happy with his work and will hire him again.

I had purchased a "deal" and used it to get the new door installed. Dave was very responsive and pleasant. It took a little longer than the 2 hours I had purchased and we did pay for the extra half hour but it was still a "deal". I would not hesitate to use Newman Household Repair again in the future!

My husband removed the old bathroom fan and I bought a new one, with the intention to install it myself. When I realized that the new casing was different, I called Dave. He went out of his way to accommodate my same-day/week request, as my son was visiting from out of town over the week-end and needed the bathroom. I will be calling him again this week or next to fix our sons? bikes that have been sitting in the garage for years!.Thank you Dave.

These were projects I just could not get around to. Dave was thorough and knocked off several of the projects on my long list of to-do's.

It went very well. Dave is great and I feel that he went above and beyond what was asked. He very easily could have done exactly what I asked and left, but instead he offered suggestions that were improvements over my original request. In on case, a different door stop solution made more sense and in another case, he greased the front door handle to prevent a recurring problem. For the metal chalkboard (which I made) he sanded the edges and cleaned it all up when I hadn't contemplated doing do. I really appreciated Dave's knowledge and willingness to get it done right. I was also extremely impressed with the array of tools and other products that Dave was carrying for projects. While it seems like the title "handyman" can be used by a wide range of people, Dave really is a handyman and takes this role seriously and comes prepared. It's so hard to find someone for a bunch of small jobs and it's even harder to find someone for small jobs who really knows what he's doing and takes pride in the work. I am already putting together another list for Dave.

Did an excellent job! Timely. Thorough. Cleans up afterwards. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

I appreciated Dave's willingness to come over today, particularly because he has jobs scheduled for all of next week. He is knowledgeable, clear about what he is doing, and his rate is very fair. I am glad to have found him on Angie's List.

Our Condo Association has used Dave before and we are so glad to have found a great handyman to take care of our upkeep needs. I called Dave to book a block of time to do a few things that had come up around our building. An exterior electrical outlet was not working, and after describing the problem to Dave he correctly determined that the GFCI should be replaced. He determined, after a few questions, that it was a 20amp outlet, and that was the replacement type I should buy. Next our motion detector light on our garage was stuck in the 'on' position'. I did not realize that this meant it's life had come to an end?so it needed to be replaced. And finally our rear wooden gate had some pretty old hardware on it. We had been meaning to replace it for awhile. So it seemed like a good idea to make it part of the work to be done when Dave came. We purchased all materials needed?with Dave's advice regarding the electrical, and had everything ready when he arrived. He called when leaving his morning job, and arrived exactly when he said he would. The jobs took a total of 2 hrs time. Again?.we are so happy to have found a great, reliable, knowledgeable handyman.

David is a pleasure to work with and I trusted him implicitly in my home. He brought all of his own tools, suggested a different solution to one of my issues, and most importantly, he truly treated my home like his own. Normally I am hesistant to give out names of tradespeople to friends, as it often doesn't work out. There is no hesistation with David - he is a professional and skilled handyman.

I was looking for a local handyman to do a few odd jobs around my house and, after reading the reviews on Angie's List, Dave Newman (of Newman Household Repair) sounded like a good choice. Plus, there was a coupon on AL, which I took advantage of. I ordered the coupon online on 4/7/14, and Dave promptly contacted me back and, in fact, even finished the work on 4/8/14! I was very satisfied, not only with his promptness, but with the work he did. I had a couple other things to be done and he had the integrity to say that those were not in his area of expertise and suggested that I contact someone who specialized in those areas. He even gave me a referral for one of the jobs. That sort of honesty is hard to find these days! I would highly recommend him and was very pleased with his services!

Dave is outstanding. He helped with fencework explaning what he was doing as he went along. Dave is easy to work with, knowledgable and friendly. I definitely would utilize his services again.

I spoke to Dave a few days earlier so he understood the work I needed done. He replaced a ceiling light fixture, a bedroom fan, a wall-mounted bedside lamp and installed a picture shelf. None of the jobs were particularly difficult, except one of the light fixtures required some creativity-- the bedside lamp needed to be anchored into the wall, but the anchors were too deep and Everything was done correctly and in a very reasonable amount of time. Everything did not take the full four hours, and Dave was nice enough to credit me a half hour towards the next visit. Either way, it was a pretty good deal.

In all instances, provider went out of his way to provide creative solutions to save $. they resulted in my saving $ on parts as well as his services.

Dave helped us fix 3 different doors (2 closet bi-folds and a storm door, as well as install a new exhaust vent over the shower. He worked methodically and did a terrific job on each project. My wife and I felt Dave provided great value and we are using him again to help install a new door in our basement. Thanks Dave! Update: Dave installed a new basement door, as well as locks and a new knobs on our old door. Can't say enough good things!

Overall, he arrived on time completed the install in time. Although he did mention about a trip charge. He finished the work in under two hours but I ended up letting him go early and use the other two hours as a trip charge equivalent. I wanted the TV hung lower than he suggested, but I went with his choice of having it higher. Now I realize it would have been better having it lower. I probably would not use him the future since he is out of my area. The work was neither superlative nor substandard. At the least, he seemed easy to talk with and unassuming.

David was well-prepared, professional and a problem-solver.

He was awesome. He extended a gas line for us so that we could get our dryer to work as well as helped us out with a few other little items after we had just moved in. We are going through a major renovation now but will use him for any small project in the future.

Everything went well and scheduling was fine. He was very knowledgeable and generally a nice guy. He did not accomplish as much as I would have liked since he was on a time frame but I was satisfied with the work he did do.
