NABIH'S INC COMPUTER SYSTEMS

I was pressed for time because I had just realized that I needed our laptop for a trip I was taking to Spain. A few keys were busted and the laptop is pretty slow. I called and asked if I could get the keys snapped back in and they were great about letting me take it over that afternoon and working on immediately for a rush fee. I was fine with that, but wasn't able to wait and decided to pick it up the next day. Knowing the laptop would stay there longer, I asked about giving it a tune-up to see why it was so slow. They did some checks like a Disk Defrag and erased temporary internet files. In hindsight, what I really needed to ask was "what can you do to make the laptop faster." I think part of the confusion on my end was a result of talking with Terry (who answers the phone and is usually the one who greets you in the store by the computer). Terry is informative, but a bit curt. He didn't make me feel comfortable and certainly wasn't inviting. The first day while I was in the store, he was assisting the woman in front of me. I think he might be impatient with people who come in and don't really have a clue about computers. I could tell she felt like I fish out of water and Terry wasn't helping. This customer service is a detriment to the store because there's a real opportunity to not only provide great service (which they do), but to also make people feel good about it. And that's where the owner comes in. His name is Nabih (store's name) and has been in business since the 1970s when they were fusing computers together. Due to my 'rush' situation, I spent a good deal of time with Nabih. He really put my interest in getting the machine faster as a priority. He suggested additional RAM and had the new card ready the next day. He also took the time personally (with me in the backroom) to make sure everything was working properly. With an owner like Nabih, you can be certain that you will be taken care of. He really tries to be fair. As for the price, in my case, it was all a rush situation with a rush fee. I put "N/A" for price because I don't really know what the going rate is for hourly. On the 'tune-up', I didn't really know what to expect and was a bit shocked that it took a few hours including 'bench time.' I'd recommend asking a ton of questions even if you get curt responses. My one last comment would be that if possible, it would be great if the store would call during the service to ask any questions or make any recommendations. I'm not savvy with computers, but when you take your car to a car shop, they often call you when it's being serviced to say 'would you like to change the brakes, they're looking low.' I feel like in today's day and age with cell phones, sms, etc., it would make sense to have that option. I strongly recommend this place. It has Nabih's work and customer service guarantee!

Everyone I spoke to at Nabih was very kind and helpful. I dropped off my notebook computer and they had it back to me in just a few hours. I did pay express service, but even with this charge they were a little cheaper than there nearest competitor of which would have taken them much longer to do the work. Great experience and I would highly recommend this company.

A beverage was spilled on my MacBook computer while it was open, but turned off. We quickly flipped it over to drain the liquid and remove the battery. I removed the hard drive to back it up. I brought the computer into Nabih's a couple of days later. They disassembled the computer, cleaned the logic board and other internal components, and replaced the keyboard assembly and screen bezel. It's working as good as new. There was a couple of days' delay because mfg was backordered on the keyboard assembly. I was pleased that the labor charge was lower than I had feared: the disassembly, cleaning, replacement of the keyboard and bezel, and testing took 1.75 hours.

Nabih saved me over $300 and their repairman, Mark, is the best.

We set a time and date for the service call and Nabih's was there right on time, and stayed for about 4 hours. I was terrified to "jump in" with an Apple as the only prior experience I had was using the personal computers at work. The technician was very "gentle" with my ignorance, and made me feel comfortable. He reassured me that before he left I would master all aspects of basic computer use; understand how to turn on, utilize the programs, reach and navigate the Internet, send and receive e-mail; use the printer, fax machine, scanner; and learn how to do basic servicing, add paper and ink; and then shut the machine down safely. This was an amazing service to me, because I have heard horror stories from friends who bought computers and then felt abandoned when they got it home. I have limited abilities; and I am restricted to a wheelchair for long hours each day, so I discussed all this with the people at Nabih's and they came through for me like old friends! Worth it!
