The sales rep did an excellent job of assessing my needs, customized a system for me, gave me a few unadvertised discounts, and had the whole system programmed and on its way to me the SAME day! The system was extremely easy to set up and the activation process was something akin to an Indy pit crew...timing and communication between all of the staff and me was superb. SafeMart thought of everything! I am completely satisfied with the system and would recommend SafeMart to anyone without hesitation.

The Livewatch monthly monitoring rates were about $10.00 cheaper per month than competing alarm companies. I would definitely recommend Safemart if you need a home alarm and monitoring.

We called and selected the specific pieces we wanted vs. getting one of the packages that they offer and the person on the phone was very knowledgeable. We felt like this was a great solution that provides monthly monitoring at a much lower cost than some of the other systems out there. We also like having the phone app to control things from outside our home if needed.

 + -1 moreI chose Safemart because I could save money on installation and monitoring. Plus, if I wanted to make any changes in the future, I wouldn?t have to hire an expensive technician with a minimum charge of $150+ just to show up to do something simple. I chatted with Safemart about which sensors would be best for my slightly recessed outside doors, as well as a very recessed door. Keep in mind there are bigger contact sensors and small ones, (and hidden inside-the-door sensors) If you don?t want to make your own shim (easily done with miniature wooden ?tongue depressors?, glued on top of each other, you can just buy the larger sensors with looser requirements. Smoke and motion and flood sensors were easy to install. They come pre-programmed to the Simon XTi security ?panel?. You install sensors, make phone appointment with Safemart so they can get you going ?live?, send them your contact list, and order of emergency calling. For example, I asked them to call me first if they get a fire signal, so I can prevent a call to the fire dept. if I just had a problem with excessive smoke from the oven. I can remotely view status and arm/disarm, and make changes from my smartphone anywhere in the country.
Description of Work: Sent pre-programmed security unit and sensors, provided technical consultations, set up call lists for 24/7 monitoring.

I was able to replace an existing wired unit and use the same pre-installed power wire for powering the control panel of GE Simon wireless uint. That would probably be trickier for someone not comfortable with electrical/in-wall wiring.

The salesperson was not pushy, but did give me a full quote as well as explain the promotion that was running at the time (2 for 1 door/window sensors). I went with them based on reviews that I had read and I'm glad I made the decision that I did. The few times I've had problems with sensors, the staff has been more than helpful in getting the problem resolved. Overall, I'm very pleased with my decision to go with Safemart.

Description of Work: I am interested in buying a new Alarm for my house. There are many companies out there that offer "install yourself" options, and SafeMart is one that I found on Google. After looking at Angie's list, I figured they would be a low-pressure option. I couldn't have been more wrong. After logging into their website to look at the various options, I have been regularly SPAMed by SafeMart about their alarm product, and despite requesting to be taken off their list more than once, I continue to receive offers multiple times per week. Most of the offers are mid pressure sales tactics. "Purchase now, before the price goes up!" "I haven't heard from you in a week, and this offer/bundle is about to expire..." The technical questions I /did/ have about their service and monitoring have gone unanswered. I wanted to know about thermostat and home integration, garage door monitoring, locks, and three emails went unanswered. So, I have chosen not to buy from SafeMart, and I don't think I would ever choose to do business with them.

In the end...I would definitely recommend Safemart.com to anyone looking to secure their home. They were a pleasure to work with all the way through the process and always kept me informed about what was going on. One of the best online shopping experiences I've ever had!
Description of Work: SafeMart did an awesome job helping me with a new home security alarm system. The system replaced a "self-monitored" Honeywell Lynx system with a full-featured "centrally monitored" wireless GE Simon XT system via cellular communication (no cut phone lines). The best part of the new system was Safemart's "plug-and-protect" system programming. Basically I gave SafeMart the specification of the system I wanted (very easy to choose with input from their helpful sales team and via their internet site) and where I would locate each of the various wireless sensors throughout the home. The process and setup couldn't be more straightforward. The system arrived in a single box with each sensor labeled based on my initial choices (e.g. "living room motion sensor") to include double sided mounting tape already pre-positioned for mounting the sensors. Then on top of that the Simon XT alarm panel was already programmed with all of the sensors so once I placed the sensors and turned on the panel for the first time everything worked straigt out of the box! I'm pretty handy, but they complemented all this great pre-programming with simple to read "get-started" guides and great videos that walk you through almost anything you want to do in terms of installing your system, not to mention expanding or changing your system. Another big plus for me was the fact that the system is 100% mine and isn't "locked down" like some of the systems you get from ADT or others where you don't even have access to the master codes to change the system, upgrade system, add additional sensors, or choose a different monitoring company all together. I can add to my SafeMart provided system any time I want and i can buy the new sensors anyplace I choose (but SafeMart has a price match guarantee) and expand my existing system without ANY additional charge. I chose to go with a 1 year contract with SafeMart because of a great equipment deal they gave me, but you can go month-to-month with them and the equipment your receive from them is 100% yours no matter which option you might choose (month to month or a multi-year commitment. And once my initial contract is up (remember I chose the 1 year option) I can switch to a different monitoring company if I choose. As for price...SafeMart's pricing is one of the best in the business and they very clearly outline on their website their different plans and level of service. You don't have to guess at the "hidden fees" or charges for "extras"...there aren't any. Just choose the service you want and find the corresponding plan. There is no guess work and everything is clearly outlined on the website. I've made the install process sound seamless and it absolutely was! But what impressed me the most was how accommodating and knowledgeable the front line security consultant team was. My SafeMart Security Consultant was Joe Schutzman and he was fantastic to work with! I did a lot of research on self-installed systems before making the leap and he was very patient with my EXTENSIVE list of questions. He could answer almost every question himself but there were a few times that my questions stumped him and he didn’t just make up an answer. He admitted when he didn’t know the answer, but he would research it and get back to me in a timely fashion. He usually had an answer back via e-mail within 30 minutes and would then follow-up with a phone call. It was very clear to me that SafeMart knew I had a choice in choosing a security system and a monitoring company and they of course wanted to sell me their system and service but they weren’t pushy about it. In the end here’s what clinched things for me. I had previously purchased a Honeywell Lynx system that I was using for self monitoring (it would call me cell if an alarm went off) and I had nearly $750 in wireless sensors for this system. Joe was happy to help me upgrade this system and monitor it, but after discussing things with him for awhile it became clear that I wanted some of the features only available via the GE Simon security system and the Alarm.com on-line interactive features. In the end, Joe worked his manager Benjamin and they gave me a VERY good deal on the new GE Simon package I purchased. Granted I was buying a fairly extensive upgrade package (nearly $1200 in just new sensors to protect not only my main floor but also the entire second floor of my home), but Joe and Benjamin essentially matched my previous system capabilities for the price of the new sensors using the GE kit they sold me. It was a very good deal and got me the full 2nd story protection I was going to buy anyway. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with SafeMart!

 + -1 moreAfter being thoroughly disgusted with our former security company, I researched numerous options and concluded the wireless DYI was the way to go. I looked at several contenders in depth and spoke with a couple of sales people, but at the end of the day I went with Safeguard because: 1) all the how-to videos on line made it simple to install; 2) the sales person did not at any point try to up sell me;3) I could get the right mix of system and monitoring I was looking for ( not everyone offers both). When my equipment came, it was easy to install. The customer service and technical support were excellent. I would only caution on one thing: if you are relying on the mobile application to manage your security system, research this option carefully. It has yet to work with three of three mobile devices that I own. Tech support is unable to fix this problem.

The pricing was good and it was my first time to use their product so I thought it was a complicated system. And it is pretty sophisticated. The video was quite good Their punctuality was fine and professionalism was actually good. They were accommodating. The people is a good resource for somebody, that is why I like them.

 + -1 moreI shopped several of the recommended security system companies online, and on Angie's List. While I found much of the equipment to be similar (especially between SafeMart and FrontPoint), and prices to also be comparable, I found I had much better communication experience with SafeMart. I was unimpressed with the person at FrontPoint that provided their initial information, answers to my questions, and quote - while the SafeMart representative was eager to answer my questions, and did so much more pleasantly. I selected a fairly large assortment of devices, and prepaid for the year (which gave me 3 months monitoring for free). They shipped everything promptly, the instructions on use and installation were easy to read and follow and were self explanatory, and I was able to mount all the devices without difficulty. NOTE: I've seen several negative reviews stating that people were disappointed that no one came out to install the system. This is a DO IT YOURSELF system, where YOU decide what you want and YOU place everything where you want, and they monitor your house remotely. All e-mails and calls to and from them have been very prompt and very friendly. They guy that called me to do the final set up could have used a couple cups of coffee before he called, but he was pleasant and helpful. A few nights ago my alarm went off in the middle of the night. One of my sensors had fallen off the wall and it tripped the alarm (I had wondered if it was going to stay where I had put it - my fault, not the device). SafeMart called me almost immediately to see if everything was OK. After over a week, I would say I am pleased. My only complaint, which is minor, is that the phone app doesn't always accurately reflect the status of the alarm. If I set the alarm with my phone, and later disarm from the panel, the phone usually still shows that the system is armed unless you hit the "refresh" button on the activate/ deactivate screen. My wife's phone might show that the panel is armed, and mine will show that it's disarmed. Until you "refresh" it often just shows what action you last took with the phone.
Description of Work: Got an estimate from several home security companies, and opted to go with SafeMart. I was sent a security system which I installed myself. They tested and activated it remotely.

When I first spoke to Nate he immediately checked my knowledge of the security options so that he could gauge my level of experience, which is a huge deal to me because I don't want someone talking down to me as if I had no education or talking so high level that the assumption is that they are smarter than you. He made it a point to provide me with his contact information, and replied in a timely manner when I did send a question his way. AWESOME EXPERIENCE! Happens very rarely, so I cherish the ones that I have.

Again, would not charge. I called back and they sent me a new unit. I have not had any problems since. I recommend this system if you want a wireless system.

 + -1 moreThat is excellent. It lets me know everything. On my cell phone I get a notice when I disarm or arm. If I open a door, each time it lets me know what door or window is open. It is exactly what I need. When I am away from home I feel much safer. If anything comes up, it will show up on my computer or my phone. I can always check in and it is an excellent service. I order it. They call me and I can set it up over the phone. All that went fine. Everything is online including the instructions. I can always talk to a live person if I get confused about anything. They just walk me step by step. Once I set the monitors on different windows and doors, they call in and take me step by step to check each one. It was much more simpler than I thought. I thought it would be difficult but it really worked out fine. It is just amazing. I pay about $39 a month and that is because I have got extra services. It can be as low as $19 a month. It is very reasonable and affordable. It works and everything is done online. Excellent quality and responsiveness is very sharp. They are very professional.

 + -1 moreI purchased the receiver to monitor an existing alarm system in our home and when it arrived, the SafeMart representative walked me through the installation process step by step. We then tested the monitoring system to be sure it was working and on the first test the receiver did not appear to connect with the monitoring company. The representative called the manufacture of the receiver, and was able to make the necessary adjustments to ensure that the monitor device worked properly. I purchased twelve months of monitoring service up front based on receiving an additional three free months of monitoring service at the completion of the first twelve. All of the representatives I had a privilege of working with were professional, polite and competent. The entire process was one that I enjoyed and I would highly recommend SafeMart to others.

Description of Work: I got my alarm system from Safe Mart in the beginning of February. Everythign has been great so far. Their reps and technicians were very professional and responsive, answered all my questions, and walked me through installing a couple of the pieces. They were very patient with me as I wasn't able to make the activation appointment on a couple of occasions. Their prices are unbeatable and they offer 3 free months of monitoring with a 1-year prepayment - if you have the money, go for it!
