Nothing overall. I am purchasing a new home and attempted to purchase an alarm from them. My service rep was in such a rush to tell me his story that he seldom asked what I needed. I literally had to keep interrupting him just to share my concerns. I decided to give them a try anyway. I asked my rep Michael to call me he next day so that I can pay for it. That call never came. As usual and I had to do the calling back. I left a message. He finally called back. Unfortunately, I was traveling to my destination to purchase my home, without an alarm. Michael finally calls me. I could not talk at the time and informed him, we should talk on tomorrow. He said ok and abruptly hung up the phone. No goodbye or anything. Just ok. Overall, I was getting random sales messages from him even though we had an agreed upon plan. At one point, he called and offered me a new plan and I said why would I want a new plan. I want what we agreed to. He said, I'll have to check with my boss to see if we can still offer that to you. Again, no response from Michael for days. I again, had to make the follow up call two days later after I also sent a message asking the status of the deal. I finally called another rep. Then it dawned on me! Why should I chase after a company. If one of my staff provided this level of service, they would be put on immediate probation. That said, this has been my interaction with SafeMart. Save your time and choose another company. A new rep contacted me and ironically provided twice the information Michael failed to provide (and we have not even talked yet). Even a demo page. Unfortunately, I've now got a bad feeling about doing business with this particular company. Too bad, as this could have been a quick sale. Now, I'm searching other companies and will run behind on the date to install an alarm for my new home.

I shopped around a lot before choosin safemart. I chose them initially because they offered a 1 year contract (most alarm companies demand 3-5 yr contracts now). Safemart works out cheaper over the long run even though you are paying more upfront; even with cellphone monitoring my price comes to much less than $50-$60 that ADT charges for cell based monitoring. Self install was quite easy other than some minor hiccoughs, so far we have not had any issues with either hte system or monitoring service. overall Ive had a good expereience with this company and would use them again

SafeMart was one of several companies I researched thoroughly to purchase a wireless home security system. I really liked SafeMart but went with someone else primarily due to a technical aspect with the equipment. The door/window sensor and magnet need to be quite close together (no more than 1/4 inch) in order to work properly. I did not want to have to modify my door casing to make this work so this ended up driving my decision. However, in terms of price (both equipment and fees), SafeMart is quite competitive. The person I worked with on several occasions was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and was willing to work with me on giving me a good deal. Again, if it was not for the small "shortcoming" of the sensors, I would have selected SafeMart.

It all went exceptionally well. From the initial review to determine out our needs to the setup and training calls everything was handled in the most professional way. I was concerned with everything being wireless and battery powered sensors but after speaking with them and doing some of my own research it is really a very economical and efficient way to set up security and fire monitoring. When the package arrived with all the sensors I was a bit hesitant about putting them all in but if you don't mind getting on a step stool and peeling off tape to stick on sensors it's very straight forward. I did use a screwdriver to mount the smoke detectors on the ceiling but that was the extent of the work. I quoted a similar system with another security company (which they would have installed) and it was twice the price so the hour I spent to put all the sensors up was well worth it. The online portal they have is very easy to set up and they gave me a personal walk through everything by phone. I am pretty computer literate so it may not be the same experience for all but it is pretty intuitive. The process for the camera activation was a little more complicated but if you follow the directions it's a one time thing. Funny thing is that I also bought a water sensor for my basement because we had some issues with our sewer backing up in the past. One week after the install we had our spa serviced and the tech left the garden hose running in the tub when he left. As it overflowed the water ran into a basement window. Within minutes my and my wife's phones were ringing and text messages were coming in to our cell phones and the cameras went into security record mode. So we found out quickly that this thing actually works. If we had not not had that sensor installed we probably wouldn't have found the water running for days since we don't go down to the basement often. That would have been a big mess. All in all we are very satisfied and would recommend SafeMart and LiveWatch for security and fire monitoring.
Description of Work: Safemart set us up with door and motion sensors for security along with smoke and CO detectors and cameras at our entrances and a second remote panel. We purchased this with a 12 month LiveWatch monitoring package (and received an additional 3 months of coverage).

I started looking at an alarm system after moving into a new home back in September. I research everything thoroughly and Angie's List is one of the tools I use to do the research. I looked at another vendor reviewed on Angies's List called Frontpoint since they had a huge number of positive reviews. However what I discovered in looking at Frontpoint in more detail was that their equipment deals on the surface look good, but that when you add all the other sensors I needed, the price worked out the same as SafeMart/LiveWatch. Also, SafeMart uses the newer GE Simon XTI system, while Frontpoint pushes the older Simon XT system. The last item was monitoring costs. SafeMart provides more services for a lower monthly fee. I can control lights, thermostat, motion camera and of course the alarm system for $39.95. Frontpoint was more by a few bucks, but offered less. I did not seriously look at ADT and a few others because of all the other negative reviews and comments. Because I have a ranch house, I need a lot of first floor window and door sensors. Some people like to use motion sensors instead of window and door sensors. I have a dog. I also have grandchildren staying at the house a lot. Motion sensors do not work well for me in most of the house because too many people or the dog could be moving around late at night when we set the alarm for "stay" as opposed to "away". My total cost of equipment was around $800 bucks. Some people will give away the equipment, but charge a higher monthly fee and lock you into a 3 year contract to recover the cost of the equipment. Nothing is free in this world so it is just a question of pay me now or pay me later. Also, the equipment from SafeMart is NOT locked into this vendor like equipment from other vendors. So it can be moved to another monitoring service after a small one year commitment. They also offer a 90 out if you are not satisfied. In my opinion, you cannot beat this deal. Because they are painting the house, I gave myself a month to install before actually activating my service. This is a self install system, but it is EASY to install. November 2 was my activation date. Their representative called me and went over everything. They took the time to answer my questions. When there were a few unresolved issues at the end of our call, they called me back as they were working through them to keep me in the loop. As of November 3, all was resolved and the system is working just fine. I also have a remote panel to control the system in the house. We can also control it via our iPhones. We also have some controllers on lights so we can turn them on at night when we are away from the house. I am very happy with SafeMart/LiveWatch and how they bring together a total solution with an easy to install system. Believe me, anyone can do this and because you do it yourself, you tend to know the system much better than if you turned over the installation to someone else. The only comment I would make to SafeMart is to monitor the social media and Angie's List at least twice a day to answer customer and prospect comments and questions. I noticed other vendors are very responsive on social media while SafeMart....well not so much. People make decisions very fast and I almost went somewhere else waiting for responses on Facebook and Angie's List. But glad I was a bit more patient and still went with SafeMart.
Description of Work: Purchased all the alarm and home automation equipment from SafeMart and they are now providing the monthly monitoring service.

My experience with SafeMart has been nothing short of exceptional, from pre-sales to post-sales. The pre-sales people knew all the answers, their technical staff had all the answers, and the setup couldn't have been easier. This is a COMPLETELY wireless system (the sensors communicate to the alarm base unit wirelessly, and the base unit communicate to the monitoring center using what amounts to a cellular phone. No land lines to cut!!). In addition, their contracts are VERY straightforward, easy to understand, and when the contract expires, they don't try and screw you like other companies do and renew you for another year. It's month-to-month once the initial contract runs out. We first used Safemart to monitor a house my wife inherited after her father died last year (in another state). I installed the sensors myself, made an appointment to test all of the sensors, and on the schedule day, they made sure that every sensor worked correctly. A back-door sensor went off one night because someone forgot to lock the back door and the wind blew it open. Safemart called us within a minute of the alarm going off and dispatched the police (thankfully, it was not a break-in). The Smartphone app has been fantastic, as well as their website (and Alarm.com, which actually provides the monitoring service). When we sold the house, we were still under contract, so we had a neighbor of her fathers ship the unit back to us. The unit must have gotten mishandled during shipping, as it wouldn't work properly when it arrived (it had worked flawlessy for the three months we had it in her father's house, and the new unit has worked flawlessly for 5 months now). They shipped us a new unit and the re-activation went smoothly. They even sent us over a dozen 3M sticky pad so that we could re-mount all of the sensors from our other home, free of charge! They're based in Kansas, so there was no problem dealing with people with foreign accents, and that Midwestern politeness was ever present. I really can't say enough good things about this company. If you want a solid alarm system that's easy to use, great tech support, reasonable rates, and easy to understand (and fair) contract, go with Safemart!!
Description of Work: This company is just amazing. Read the details in the next section. This is a self-installation alarm unit, but it's rock solid (and there's no wiring required since it's all wireless).

I purchased a new wireless alarm system and monitoring service from Safemart to replace an old hard-wired system that was not functioning properly. Safemart provided pre-programmed alarm equipment which only took me about one half hour to install. It would have taken less time but I had to remove old hard-wired motion detectors. The system was so simple to setup and their support people are excellent. One of the other pluses is that they only require a one year contract for monitoring while most of the other companies require a 3 year contract. The monthly monitoring fee was also lower than other alarm services I researched. I can also expand my system in the future by adding pre-programmed sensors, etc. If you are in the market for an alarm system I highly suggest you contact Safemart. So far I have been impressed.

SafeMart was the only company I found that was willing to work with my existing system and pay less than half as I was with ADT for monitoring. There was some self installation involved but if you're willing to get your hands a little dirty and a 30 minute phone call, there is no better option. Great customer service, great price, and a short term agreement.

The GE XTi panel is great. Everything is very easy to install. No tools needed and the installation is very quick and painless. Safemart's prices are better than Frontpoint on both the initial equipment and the monthly fees (especially the monthly fees!). Only a 1 year contract required vs 3 years with Frontpoint to get their best price. Safemart has a 90 day return policy vs 30 days at Frontpoint and Safemart gives you one extra year of warranty on all the GE equipment! Safemart does not have high pressure salespeople and their customer service is like nothing you've ever seen. The best I've experienced from any company in any industry anywhere both before and after the sale. Safemart has the biggest selection of security and home automation equipment including wireless sirens and z wave light switches that Frontpoint simply doesn't offer. Frontpoint still hasn't upgraded from the Simon XT to the XTi control panel for example. Don't be fooled by all the hype about Frontpoint on the net. Frontpoint is a good company too but if you are looking for the 'best' alarm.com dealer, you won't find a better more economical one than Safemart. PLUS! PLUS! PLUS! Safemart includes 2 way talk at no extra charge! You need that to avoid false alarms. Most of their competitors don't offer it.
Description of Work: Ordered a complete DIY cellular home security and automation system. Safemart provides active monitoring of my burglar and fire sensors through Livewatch. Shipping is very quick and everything is 100% as promised.

The transfer of alarm monitoring was flawless and I find the service to be more responsive and consciencious than the prior company (a national company with a 3 alphabet letter name). SafeMart people were pleasant to deal with and helpful at every stage. They even give you their names and email addresses if you have follow-up questions. We've had a few false alarm triggers with some guests visiting and the monitoring company was prompt and thorough in calling them in. You never know if all of this will work when you're not home and a real alarm is turned in, but the way they handled these false alarms is reassuring and better than my prior experience with the other alarm company. On the negative side, I found their website advertising a bit misleading in that I thought I could simply switch my hardwired system to them by programming a new phone number for it to call. They required me to buy a new cellular device to connect to the alarm panel and pay a higher monthly rate for cell service. This is clearly a better system in that we are no longer susceptible to an intruder cutting the phone line to the house, but it leaves you wondering if you were sucked in by a teaser price and forced to buy an expensive piece of hardware that is not necessary. How does anyone get the lower rate if they require you to use cell service? There is also a 1-year contract required which I would have like to have been more clearly stated. There is a bit of initial confusion with the various names of SafeMart, LiveWatch and the company that actually tracks the alarm system, named CMS. However, so far it all works well and I'm pleased with having made the change.
Description of Work: Transferred my existing hardwired home alarm monitoring from another company to SafeMart.

Overall, the customer service and everything was varied. I just didn't like the fact that it was plug and protect. I would have rather someone come out and do the installation me and that they didn't provide. The monthly fee was $29.00 and the equipment was a little over $600. I bought the service with them and then I cancelled within the 30-day period. It was basically a do-it-yourself so I had to put it around the house. It was not what I was looking for. I was not too sure of what I was doing. They were quick in responding.

All went exactly as expected. Sales and tech set expectations up front. Once the purchase was done, an online workflow process walked me through all of the steps needed to set up and activate the system. My customized system included pre programming of all sensors into the system, main xti control panel, 2nd remote touch pad, 9 entry sensors, 1 smoke/heat sensor, 1 CO2 sensor, key fob, 2 year warranty and 13 months of monitoring with web and mobile access for just about $1k. Great value for a do it yourself person who does not want to be locked into a contract.
