John did a great job on our floors! Our red oak floors were in bad shape with a lot of stains and deep gouges from a bad refinish job but John was able to make them look like new. We had at least four companies give us estimates and we felt John was the most qualified, most personable, and he had the best price too! John helped us decide to go with a water base finish (Bona Traffic HD - extra Matt) with no stain and we love it. The Extra Matt finish is great; I think it hides scuffs and scratches a little better than other finishes. The Traffic HD is also nice because it is very low VOC and the smell was almost gone after 24 hrs. We went out of town while he was working on the floors and he did a good job communicating with us while we were gone. We are very happy with his work and would recommend him to anyone.

I used John to refinish my hard wood floors on the main level, a few years back when i bought the house. This time I wanted to replace the carpet and ceramic tile in the lower level and in the stairwell. John put in new hardwood in the stairwell and matched it perfectly to the hardwood on the main level. He also ripped out the tile and carpet on the lower level and laid down the laminate floor that I purchased.

John and his crew were extremely professional, knowledgable and friendly, taking time to explain the entire process and answer any follow-up questions we had via email. His pricing was fantastic and the end result was beautiful - makes our home look brand new. John was very punctual when we arranged meetings and would always call if he was delayed or to let us know he was 5 minutes away - a basic good business practice that seemed to be lacking from some of the other competitors from whom we got quotes. Since our entire home was being refinished in what would be a 3-day process, we left town and gave John a set of keys. He was very trustworthy and made sure everything was locked up and taken care of. On the first day of the project, John and his crew immediately (seriously, as soon as they set foot in the door) began identifying which boards needed to be replaced and started removing/replacing them. John himself sanded a strip of the floor, explained the staining process and stained sample areas of the three stain colors we were interested in. After that, we left and returned several days later to amazing new floors. Overall, I would recommend John to anybody looking to have work done to their hardwood floors.

I found John D Flooring on Angie's List. They were hardworking. The crew was professional. He was no-nonsense and did the job. He was the cheapest quote I received, which alarmed me. He was amazingly good. He pulled up some hardwood flooring I had installed incorrectly by another company and re-laid it beautifully. I want to use him for every project I have! The quality and professionalism was perfect. He did a great job with what he had to work with and was very clean.

Arrived on time for the estimate. Found they couldn't do a good job at the offered price but gave a decent price for the entire job instead. Finished on time and cleaned up well. Will use him again i n the future.

He took out the wood that didn't match the area around the new island and he remover a spot so that a pipe could run through. He sanded and put in a island. He came on time. He cleaned up after himself very well for doing sanding.
