This was one of the best home improvement experiences I have had. We needed a lot of deck work on a porch and two decks. Lucky and Christian came over the next day; I had an estimate within two days, and the work started within the week. The entire project was done in two weeks time. They knew that the weather was going to change to be too cold and they completed the project. Christian was fantastic to work with. He would brief me on the what was going to be done that day and the following few days. He is so knowledgeable and takes pride in the workmanship. Several other tradesmen were on site and very professional and personable. I'm so pleased with how the work turned out. I would highly recommend Gorman Restoration to anyone looking for home improvement projects.

It was a bit more expensive than I would have expected and the invoice was sent after they started the work already. The people were really really nice and easy to work with. They were also very transparent about my options and their opinion on what I should do. However, I don't know if the fix was worth the price after everything when I could have just replaced the door. Overall would use again

Our 120 yr old gut rehabbed brownstone, original wood front door had been poorly installed leaving gaps all around the door frame. I hired two different contractors who each made the problem progressively worse. Luckily, I found Gorman. Christian came out the same day I contacted Gorman to assess the problem - I knew they were good when they focused on the root cause rather than the symptoms to develop a solution. The work took a couple of days and was a process of remediating each element of the door, frame, hinges, lock, etc. Now we have a perfect seal and lock alignment. During the two day job, Lucky Gorman stopped by to ask me how I felt the job was going...fantastic customer service, for sure. I can highly recommend Gorman without hesitation and plan on using them for our next job.

The quality of work on this project was outstanding. Our old deck had a number of issues that were identified in the home inspection, which they of course fixed. But we also had an atypical ask in that we wanted built in benches. They came up with a design using angled supports that looks great and will last longer than just using traditional screws. So youâ re not just getting a quality project; youâ re also getting design work built into the cost, which is a huge plus.

In July of 2022, Gorman Restoration and Remodeling restored the original exterior front door on my 1940 English Tudor home. The door poses a challenge due to the rounded top. Most places I called wouldn't even consider restoring the door. Lucky Gorman had one of his carpenters replace the peeling wood veneer, then add a stain and top coat of polyurethane. It turned out beautiful. Unfortunately, less than a year later, the veneer began to peel. Not necessarily a reflection on the excellent work completed by the carpenter, but rather due to extreme sunlight damage. I contacted Lucky in March of this year and told him what had happened. He worked diligently to find a carpenter who could come up with a permanent solution to the problem. And this past Thursday his carpenter, Norbert, removed the veneer, stripped off all the glue and residue, stained and sealed the door. It looks better than it did before. And best of all, he honored the 1 year warranty. There aren't many companies that would do this. Lucky is an honest and honorable contractor and I would definitely hire his company for future work as well as recommend him to my friends and family.

This was a bathroom remodeling job, and the results are beautiful! The bathroom is now the nicest room in our house. Mike did most of the work, and he did an excellent job, and was cheerful, careful and diligent. Christian had a part to play (tile choices) and did a very good job--the floor looks great! The job took longer than expected, but with projects of this sort, you never know what surprises you might find that need extra attention.

Mike the carpenter was awesome and Iâ m pleased with the work.

Took $500 deposit and it was originally for new sliding glass door. Turned out that old door just needed adjustment which was done. I asked for itemized bill as I believe the labor was not $500 worth. Still in arbitration. After prodding from Angi I finally received an itemized bill which turned out to be over my deposit.

My rating should speak for itself.

Had a back door issue on the expensive doors that go from our family room to our back deck. Lucky Gorman responded right away to my call, and a few days later Lucky and Mike came out, fixed the issue that day. Replied quickly when I needed an emergency, same day deck repair and finished the job within a few hours. Didn’t feel gouged or railroaded into a repair I didn’t need and I would use them again.

I reached out to Gorman Carpentry & Restoration to have my back door repairs after the upper glass pane shattered. Lucky responded to my initial message quickly, and maintained pretty open communication throughout the process. Because I had initially gotten rid of the frame holding the glass, it took a while for us to find some thing that would work out, but I was able to get the original frame and that made it much easier for them to replace the glass. Both Lucky and the contractor he sent out also spent a great deal of time communicating with me and trying to come up with alternative solutions in case I was unable to get the frame fixed.Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely call them again for my next home repair.

So quick and easy! I found this company from Angi and they responded to my request within 15 min. Our bed support beams needed repair and a redesign. Lucky sent Mike and he did a great job analyzing the problem and what our issues were with the bed. He came up with a plan, bought the parts and returned to finish the project. Our broken bed had been a problem for months and we did not know how to fix it ourselves. I am so happy that we found Gorman Carpentry and Restoration. They did a great job for a reasonable rate. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Stairs on my 3rd floor deck broke and were hanging in mid- air. I needed someone to remove them ASAP, inspect the deck and make the repairs. Lucky got David out to remove the stairs same day when no one else would. David did a great job in a light rain. Thanks again David.

They called me back the same day as my Angi request and offered to come fix my window casings the very next morning. The workman showed up on time and did a great job. Would definitely recommend to others.

We had a major structural issue in our new house that had been identified during a home inspection. Prior contractors who had installed plumbing and HVAC in the basement had compromised the key supports for the house and put pipes and vents in the way of them. Gorman Restoration was just what we needed. They came up with a practical solution for the structural problem and also fixed some inadequate plumbing in the process. The work is top quality--you can feel the floors are more solid. And the cost was at the low end of what our home inspector and structural engineer said a project like this would likely cost. They were also dependable and professional when they were in the house. This company shows up when they say they will; they are not the type of contractor that takes a check and disappears. We'll be hiring them for future remodel needs for sure.
