Lucky was one of 5 estimates I had on repairing or replacing some damage sliding glass doors (several of them). Lucky was the only one to give me an estimate for repair. He met my requirements of insurance and license - so I accepted his estimate and we completed a contract. He then repaired the doors. Note: The estimates I received for replacing the doors was $7,000 - 10,000.

He was reliable, prompt, responsive, reasonably priced, trusted that he did what needed to be done. He was able to find economic solutions to the problems and didn't try to make the bill any higher, taking care of issues in the most cost effective way. I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to others without hesitation.

They were on time, prompt, and neat.

When you call Lucky, you actually get him. You do not get a voice mail. If you do have to leave a message he returns the call prompt. He and his workers are very efficient and professional. They cleaned up after themselves and are very personable.

Lucky Gorman and his crew took a piece of property that hadn't been updated since the mid '60s and transformed it into a condo that looks fresh and new again. His firm not only painted the condo, but they fixed the sliding glass windows that hadn't been used for many years, updated electrical outlets and faucets and even managed the removal and installation of carpeting. One of the things we really appreciated was Lucky's amazing follow through, from the painting to the the plumbing to dealing with the smallest of details. His willingness to step in and orchestrate the entire project and his attention to all the details - from light fixtures, to new hardware, and even a contemporary thermostat -- made the process so much easier for us. Lucky got things done in a timely fashion and was truly a delight to work with!

Upon returning from a one month trip to see a flooding basement, I phoned Lucky. He was extremely prompt in returning my voicemail message (within five minutes), and was able to accommodate a request to come out and be here to fix the problem within 45 minutes from my call. Upon his arrival he and his colleague quickly diagnosed the issue and drove to a distribution center to get a replacement pump, which was quickly installed, and then proceeded to clean up the flooded area with a wet/dry vac. Throughout the entire experience, Lucky was gracious and professional, and offered to return the next day should additional cleaning be necessary. I would recommend him for plumbing repair and clean-up, due to his demeanor and effort to get the job done at a very reasonable price. ? Sabrina Pasztor Evanston, IL

After being stood up last Friday by another service provider, I called Lucky. To start with, I was amazed that he actually answered his phone and was able to speak with me for a few moments right away. He was professional from the start; asking me for my email address, etc., even before proceeding with our conversation. We agreed that he would come out Monday at 10:00 am. He called earlier in the day to confirm, and was in my driveway at the appointed time. While his helper started on the tiles, Lucky and I walked around the house and spoke about the remaining jobs. They were all completed to my satisfaction. As a newly divorced homeowner whose ex-husband used to take of these things, I am incredibly grateful to have found Lucky. This will be the start of a beautiful relationship, I think.

The work was done in my rental house in order to get it back in a rentable condition. I didn?t report to a plumber or a carpenter to get the work done. The amount charged was on an hourly rate. The handyman seemed like he cared. He is an older gentleman who has been a machinist. It seemed like this was the job for which he had a passion for. His crew did the work. The price charged was very fair. I had a very good experience.

Lucky set up the appointment. He was nice enough to schedule around our limited availability. Hirsch arrived on time and began to work. During the job, we noticed that a previous contractor had screwed one of the bathroom fans directly into the roof. Soooo, we had to take the fan back out of the ceiling that had already been fixed and have the roof repaired.. Lucky and Hirsch were patient about the fact that they had to re-do that area the next day after the roof was patched. And, they even came back a third time to finish sanding. The drywall on the ceiling looks good. I am very happy with the work and plan to call them again soon.

Mr. Gorman personally inspected the property and sent me a proposal for the work needed. The proposal was very fair and his honesty about some of the items that I thought were going to be much more expensive was refreshing. The work was done in a timely manner with minimal disruption to my tenants. Thanks!!!

A. Lucky Gorman acted as the "general" for this project. He, thankfully, did not actually do any of the work himself. Instead, John, his employee, did the majority of the plumbing, shower base installation, drywall repair and minor electrical. A licensed electrician did the major electrical work for the radiant heat flooring. Upon first meeting him, he seemed to know what he was talking about and was excited about the project. Once the contract was signed, his demeanor changed. He had implied the work would move forth quickly, thus his aggressive payment schedule. Lucky was arrogant and patronizing. He purposefully ignored requests for information that were mutually agreed on in writing. Lucky came to the work site when he wanted money and when he had too. He knew little about the progress. We stopped work when the floor was not laid on the diagonal, as I had clearly stated to John and the tiler, Miguel. We are in dispute; I'm seeking reimbursement for the floor redo $2,240.00.
