Gorman Carpentry and Home Renovation

First, I want to say that the only reason they did not get 1 star is because of the Carpenter Cristian. He did an amazing job with repairing my doors. The problem comes in with the Mr. Gorman, I believe that he was very dishonest with me. First off he quoted my job at being $550. Then before he even he sent me a carpenter he required a $150 deposit. The first carpenter that came to see the job and then did not come back because he quit. Then when he sent the second carpenter the charged me for 1 1/2 hour waiting time @ $90 an hour because he said no one was home and someone was home to let him in and the carpenter never knocked or rung the doorbell. Then and only after the 1st door was repaired did he tell me that the he was charging me by the hour and not the job type. He charged me $90 an hour. When I search online the average cost of labor for a carpenter is it $60-$85 an hour, so he is definitely on the high end. In the end I paid $945 for the job. Compared to his quote that was way too much, I know. I am thinking of taking legal action. I believe he tried to get over on me because he saw me as a damsel in distress. I will NEVER use him or RECOMMEND him to anyone.

The work was completed quickly with no mess. Any questions I had were addressed thoroughly and options presented clearly. Lucky and his workers are pleasant, efficient and easy to work with. I will call them again if a need arises.

Showed up on time for the estimate. Explained work that would be done and amount. Very professional, completed the job with no issues. Very trustworthy and Mr Gorman is a pleasure to work with. Would recommend the company without hesitation.

Wow...can't say enough about Mr. GORMAN n his Carpenters Christian n Matias!!!!Words like professional,caring,compassionate, wood worshipers n knowledgeable in their art.I would recommend to each n every household that needs wood remodeling.We currently are in the process with them on a front porch to restore it to a former beauty but they are going above n beyond that with their design, stain color n stair n railing restortation. I am proud we chose them to help on a huge part of our home. I KNOW my dad,who was a former carpenter would be proud of my decision on choosing GORMAN TOO!!! Thank u for this opportunity.

From initial consult to finished product Gorman Restoration and Remodeling was professional and trustworthy in every aspect of their work. Lucky Gorman came right out for an estimate and explained what he would do in detail and answered all my questions. I received an estimate the same day of our first meeting. My front and rear porch project was not an easy job because the original porch had to be removed, the site had to be graded, and existing concrete had to be removed and replaced with new concrete that aligned with the new porch. Importantly, the new porch had to match the character of the existing building while conforming to applicable building codes. As the job progressed, I knew that I could trust Lucky Gorman and his on-site foreman Christian. Christian demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism under very challenging rainy weather conditions. Christian is a true craftsman as demonstrated by his beautiful work, done as promised. Yes, I would use them again in the future.

They were quick to respond in an emergency and got the job done quickly. Fantastic customer service.

I love the quality of work and the professional approach

Awful experience. Lots of promises and even more under-delivery. Hired him to strip and stain my deck. They talked me into replacing the decking and then staining it. Deck now looks worse than it did prior to the work. The stain has left dark spots in multiple areas, and in some instances Im convinced they used paint and not stain as it looks like a completely different surface. They also left a pile of extra wood on our driveway for multiple weeks. that I eventually had to pay to have taken away. One of his freelance crew members came out to review the work and indicated that they clearly did not apply the stain correctly, and indicated he they would likely have to redo the whole project. Weve called multiple times to have him address it. Always told were at the top of his list but he never shows. Its going on two months now and we written him off. Do not hire Gorman Restoration

I called Gorman Restoration and Remodeling after a positive recommendation from a friend. Lucky Gorman responded immediately , sending a painter to look at the job the next morning. The job included repairing a ceiling that had a prior leak. Lucky and team also got to the root of the problem, and are now repairing the outdoor window cupping to prevent further water damage. The painter, Mike Sr. has been helpful in making sure that the materials are economical and used prudently. I am very satisfied with the work, the timeline of response to my call, the service provided, and also the friendliness of Gorman Restoration and Remodeling.

Lucky called asap after homeadvisor request and scheduled door appointment for following day. They showed up in time, and after viewing door repairs, called and gave me a fair quote and completed job to my satisfaction.

I intend to hire Lucky and his crew for future projects. They are thorough and respectful.

Not only would I never recommend Lucky Gorman, I will never use Home Advisor again. The 1/2 star I give Lyxky is only because I was not given the option to give him a negative rating. He tried changing prices on us 3 times, even at one point stating that sometimes hes got to eat his mistakes but continued increasing price. If you use him, DON'T, be sure everything you expect is in the agreement and spelled out. Heather and Mick kept the project going and completed everything we wanted. Lucky was the problem.

Lucky Gorman hung up the phone in the middle of the conversation before I could tell him I didn't authorize the repair. Then sent me an invoice. I tried to explain that I didn't want to move forward and that I was willing to 'meet him in the middle' and paid 50% of the invoice. Lucky threatened to send me to collections and damage my credit score. Four days after the repair, he furnished a new invoice and said I now owe him more money. In the end, I mailed him a check for the balance due, just to be done with this horrible experience.
