TLDR: take as many pictures/videos before repair and after as you can, because you might have to bring this guy to small claims court after he "repairs" your device. I brought my laptop in after being recommended to this place. The plastic housing that held the hinge on the left-hand side of my laptop had broken, and the screen had started to separate from the back of the laptop. I brought it in, and although that part had been fixed, my laptop was given to me with the right-hand side hinge broken now, and my laptop didn't go to sleep when the lid was closed, and it would also type/close tabs/delete things etc. when the lid was closed. I took videos of the laptop with everything happening and luckily took a lot of pictures of the original broken hinge. I brought it back in and the guy was treating me like I was stupid and didn't know my own laptop, but he said he would "check it out." later that day, he called and said the hinge was bent. I told him to repair it, because he broke it. I also told him I don't expect to have to pay for it. He swore up and down that he didn't break it, but who else would have? Finally, after about 5 days, he repaired the bent hinge. However, my laptop still didn't go to sleep when the lid is closed and still types/closes tabs, etc. I found out through another person who deals with computers that there is a physical sensor that tells the computer when the lid is closed, and after trying every single software solution we could find, we determined that he had also broken the sensor. Paid $300 just for my laptop to be broken again, by the hands of the guy at the Evanston GadgetWorks, and will probably have to pay even more money to fix his mistakes. Don't recommend, and will not recommend to any of my Northwestern friends.

Incredible and exceeded my expectations. My power adapter broke and I was unable to charge my laptop. Best Buy quoted around $150 and up to 3 weeks. Other local businesses quoted less time, but around $100-$125. Prashant Patel quoted $75 and 24 hours. I brought the laptop in on Monday and he called me 20 minutes after opening on Tuesday to pick it up. He did all his own soldering to the motherboard and gluing. When I picked it up, he said everything on the laptop will break before the power adapter ever breaks again. His partner at the Glenview store is more of the software expert and fixes those kind of issues. These guys fix everything, cracked screens on phones, water damage, data recovery, broken parts, tablets, ipads, androids, etc. I finally found a repair shop for my gadgets that I can trust and feel good about the value in service I am receiving.
