Sales person was elderly and not the provider. I was called two weeks later to pick up the lamp. The cost was $40.00. The person put on a new plug without informing me--which was not needed. I refused to pay the amount they asked for fixing what I had asked (a small switch on the cord that probably cost 10 cents) and never talked to the actual person. They put the elderly lady in a very bad position as a go between. In the end they did not respond and basically held my lamp hostage. I had to pay the $40.00 to get it back.
Description of Work: I took in a lamp with a standard switch on the cord that was not working. They fixed that but added a new plug which was not needed.

We are in a stalemate. I have been buying antiques for 50 years. I expect some wear and somtimes obvious damage. But the repaired arm was not pointed out to me. I thought I was purchasing an intact brass chandalier. All I ask is to credit my charge card. I have returned the chandalier. I do not wish to business with her for a third time. My first encounter with her was unprofessional. I asked her to find a missing crystal bauble on another chandalier I purchased from her. Her initial remark was it wasn't from her store! If you are interested, I am in possession of the entire email chain.
Description of Work: She sold me a damaged chandalier. She had it repaired twice but the soldering failed to hold. I asked for a credit to my charge card. Carol accused me of not knowing how to handle antiques.. She said I was rough with it. She refused to credit my charge card and said I could get store credit only. There are no posted signs for store credit. After my experience with her, she did post a sign in her store that said, "Everything is sold as is."

The lamp was rewired in a reasonable amount of time and for a reasonable price. My only minor disappointment was that the parts were not quite aligned, but the repairman was able to readjust it while I waited. It only took a few minutes. The lady at the counter also cleaned the lamp for me. It looks great, and it is a treasure.
Description of Work: I found a vintage lamp of high quality in an antique shop and brought it in for rewiring.

Dropped off lamp and in a week called back to let know work completed. Will call if cost is over $45 so you can approve to have the work completed. Note that the address is incorrect. They are further west on Central on the South side of the street.
Description of Work: Lamp needed new wiring.

Rene could not have been more efficient or helpful, both in managing the repairs and giving me some great advice on a window project we're contemplating. Plus, the work was done in a timely manner and the price was excellent.
Description of Work: I brought in a lamp, that had fallen to the floor and was not in good shape at all. I also brought a wood carving of a fish, a part of the wood had broken off. Rene helped me. The work was done perfectly.

Good service, reasonable prices. Would definitely use again.
Description of Work: We had an antique lamp, which had stopped working, and it also had missing crystals that hung from its design. They fixed it promptly and then asked if we'd like them to replace the crystals, which we did.

Etienne did a great job with the wiring and socket. They weren't able to help me with the shade, but they recommended the names of two different shops that they felt would quality, reputable assistance with shade replacement. I'm not too familiar with pricing for this type of repair, but the cost seemed reasonable. The only recommendation I would make to them is to make sure the customer understands their policy upfront for holding finished items only 5 days. I wasn't aware, and when I was not able to pick up until the 6th day, they were a little stressed.
Description of Work: I had a vintage lamp that was in desperate need of having the original wiring and socket replaced and a refurbished or new lamp shade.
