Estrada Fences

I had a couple of follow-up questions two months later when our association was finally ready to proceed with the job and he extremely rude on the telephone. When he answered the phone, he screamed and was swearing (not at me, but it was startling nonetheless). He then proceeded to tell me that it wasn't worth his time to come back and take another look at the job even though I was not asking him to do so and was merely asking a couple of basic questions re how the gate would be set up and how it would look. I also told him that we wanted to go ahead and go with him and he made it very clear that he was not interested. I understand if a contractor is too busy and doesn't have time to take the job, but there is no need to be rude, especially for no reason. Based on my conversation with him, I believe that we are better off going with another company.

Great work, extremely responsive. Quote was spot on, and he was the only one (of 3 called) that was open after 5pm on weekdays, he was able to meet for the quote that week, and the fence was done the next week. very responsive, great work, done in one day.

Luis was punctual, professional, and did everything I asked of him.

Requested a quote on a 50 foot fence and drive gate and received an immediate response. I explained what I was looking for and Luis requested a pic. He responded that he wanted a pic to his cell for what I was looking for. I responded back within a few days and then followed up by text a few days later. When I did not receive a response I sent a message via Angie's list and did not receive a response back. Avoid this company.

He showed up promptly to estimate the job at what I thought was a fair price. His men were there at the time promised, did the work as agreed and cleaned up the job site. All well done.

Found Estrada Fences on Angie's List. Had Luis out for a quote. he arrived promptly, assured me that the job would be completed quickly. Thought the price was fair. Signed a contract for work to be completed. They did not show up on job date. Limited communication. Did not respond to asking for a new date. Did not show up.

We had a good experience with Estrada Fences, the work is holding up well and he resolved our problem. He was timely and polite, with fair pricing.

They were excellent. They came right away and did what I asked. They were reasonably priced. I would give them A for everything. They gave me a really good price and I was happy with it. He used the stuff I had. He did spring it out. He repaired it really well. He didn't overcharge me. I wrote to the city that I fixed it. I didn't get a fine. I worked with them to tell what I wanted and they followed my instructions.

It was an Angie’s List special and that was all what we paid them. They are excellent.

Dealing with Luis can be a little bit of an experience. He has the ability to put people off. With that being said the workers showed up on time worked quickly and pulled the old fence and installed the new fence with 2 gates in one day. That particular day was about 15 degrees out as well. The quality of the work is good and I appreciate them getting the fence done in a timely fashion.

Mr Estrada came out and gave me an estimate via email. He also gave me a recommendation as to the best color to use for an outdoor wooden fence which I appreciated because I know nothing about fences. We scheduled the work to be done a week later -- they showed up on time and was nice enough to paint a few pieces of wood for me so I can see what the outcome would be when the work was completed. They finished the work that same morning. A few days later when the paint had sufficiently dried, I noticed that it looked spotty and there were some areas that were pale in comparison to the rest of the fence. I called Mr Estrada right away and mentioned that it looked spotty. He initially explained that some parts of the wood takes to stains easier than others and that might be why it was spotty. But he agreed to come out and take a look to see for himself. He had two guys come out a few days later and after I showed them the spottiness, they decided to put on a second coat. They basically redid the whole fence (the side facing my house -- the other side faced a forest preserve and I didnt care about the spottiness on that side) and had me check it out when they were done. I noticed right away that there was still some degree of spottiness but not as bad as before. But since I saw them do the work this time, I agreed that it must be what Mr Estrada had originally explained to me before. I very much appreciated not being brushed aside as not knowing anything about fences and that he also made an attempt to re-stain my fence which looks very nice now.

Supposedly, he came to inspect the fence while I was at work, but he hasn't followed up with an estimate of the total cost for the job.

Emailed quote was not received when promised. I followed up and received the quote, which lacked detail, so in followup emails I asked a few questions and got reasonably professional followup emails. I attempted to book the job, and asked for a local reference and where I might preview the materials to be supplied....and then nothing. Further email contacts were ignored. What a waste of time.

Called for an estimate, the tone changed when I gave him an address on the south side and he said it was too far away in Evanston, YET the description on here says "COOK COUNTY," not the NORTH side of Cook County.

FAILED TO SEND AN ESTIMATE AND WILL NEVER USE AGAIN

The process went well. The estimate was about half of the other companies. There were a few hitches but they took care of them right away. I had originally wanted the front gate moved from its original position and this was agreed upon. However, when I went out to check on the installation I saw them putting the fence post in the exact same place. But, what we discovered was that the location of the new fence post would have punched through a piece of concrete sticking out from under my neighbors house. No one is sure why there is a concrete pad sticking out from under the back of her house, but we didn't want to take any chances. So, its a bummer that this wasn't caught when the estimate was done, but I don't think it's really anyone's fault. Mr. Estrada was really nice about it though and offered to move the fence and make it work. But it was just easier for everyone to let it lie. There were few misunderstandings about how the iron mesh was to be installed, but these were easily straightened out. I also saw that a piece of mesh was crooked and they came back out a few days later to fix it. I definitely felt that this contractor was very responsive and stood by his word. The gates look great and I definitely feel like they add a layer of security.

Mr. Estrada was very professional in his demeanor and quick to give me an estimate.

They showed up on time and worked efficiently and used quality materials. Very friendly and professional.

Everyone showed up as scheduled, completed the job in one day. I never saw guys work so hard and so fast. Amazing!

Never called me to schedule service.

They were pretty good. One of the guys came out and talked to me; took the measurements. They seem to be alright. Me and my neighbor were doing this in conjunction so we decided to go with the company who gave us a better offer.

great. showed up on time. discussed repair options. did a great job.

Their price was reasonable and they were responsive. They did a good job; it wasn't excellent but it was good enough.

i provided gravel to use around post because do not want cement to secure posts; did the job promptly. took apart one of the old gates and put back together with heavier cross beams. i was ready to change door, but owner suggested can do that. outcome was ?ok? but not really pretty; don?t know worth savings or not. anyway, when i went to inspect the work, found the handle was missing screw; had to request that to be fixed, which they did. rest of the work was not that great; huge gap (almost width of one fence board on one of the adjusted gate. few months later early spring 2014, our tenant complain the same gate with new post was sagging and needed to be lifted up to open. our landscaping guy fixed that. also, somehow the handle eventually came off so we use it without one. there?s no excuse for well made repairs to be this way. I?m happy to pay more for better work and service. people looking at the work might think owners did the job ourselves, when it wasn?t.

Luis Estrada was punctual and very nice. The work was done in a very satisfactory manner. The workers were fast and thorough. I would highly recommend him to family and friends and would surely use his services again.
