Very well. They were excellent at not destroying the plantings on either side.

Everything went great except I wasn't informed about needed a permit.

Luis came out punctually a year ago to do an estimate on the job. Within a reasonable time he emailed me a written estimate, which was much lower than two other quotes we obtained. We ended up not doing the job that year. This year, I called him to ask if he could provide an updated estimate. He said no problem--it would be the same cost as he estimated last year. We set up a date for the work, but it turned out that the forecast was for rain, so I called him to reschedule. We set another date--another rainout. The third time, his crew came out and did a few hours of work, but then it rained again. A week later, Luis called me to reschedule the completion of the work. We set a mutually convenient time and his crew completed the work today. His crew was as responsive as Luis. Very professional and responsive when I pointed out a few areas that needed touch ups or clean ups. All throughout, Luis was easy to reach by phone and very easy to work with.

He gave me a estimate which was good. I called and scheduled the work to be done. He said they would be there at 8:30 and they were. Four guys worked their tails off and were done by 4:30 as promised. They cleaned up nice. I asked for a lattice top at the back and the boss said "No Problem" He says that a lot but I think he means it. I would Hire him again.

Job was done on time and professionally

I would not hire this company now, based on the attitude I was given today. When I asked why he didn't call to let me know why he couldn't make it, he started barking at me about "Don't you know what an emergency is? I didn't have time!" and so on and so forth. I explained that when you schedule an appointment to do an estimate, it's courtesy to call the person and let them know you can't make it. Otherwise, people are missing work in order to accommodate him. He starts yelling at me about how he's in Mexico, and there's nothing he can do about it. Really? Then how can he come "tomorrow" as he'd suggested? I don't understand why people cannot hold their appointments. It's just an appointment for an estimate. The company is here in Evanston. They can't make sure someone comes over for 10 minutes to take a look and give me an estimate? NOT a proper way to run a business.

I called and asked for an estimate to repair my driveway gate. He said that he was very busy but it wouldnt be a problem. I gave him all of my information and he said that he would leave the estimate. Never showed up and I never heard back.

Mr. Estrada arranged to come and look at my wood fencing repair need within 24 hours and at an odd evening hour because that's the only time I was available. He gave me a very inexpensive estimate for a good repair strategy. While the job was small and I knew he would have to work it in between his larger jobs, his crew came within 24 hours, did an outstanding job, and actually reinforced a lot more of my fending than I asked him to do. I am delighted with his responsiveness and the quality of the work.

He was punctual and completed the work when he said they were going to finish. It was a bit on the expensive side but when they do a good and fast job you do not want to deal with delays and other problems.

Called them up, got a quote, they came and did exactly what they quoted on the exact day they said the work would get done. What else is there to say. Good fair price as well. The only problem, is a small section of the lattice work fell off and we are communicating with them now to get it fixed (thus the B on quality...more like B+).

Luis did a wonderful job both times I had him out. He is great at both building a whole new iron fence and at repairing and replacing a very old wooden fence. He answers calls promptly. He comes when he says he will and stays to complete the job no matter what the weather. The first time I had him out he kept working in spite of a biting cold rain on one of the days. This time, it was just plain cold and miserable, but he worked right through it and did a great job.

Mr. Estrada was wonderful in every possible way. He answers phone calls personally, and returns missed calls promptly. He is very patient in explaining procedures and options and going over pricing. His pricing is very reasonable - and saved me hundreds compared to Tru-Link and some other one whose name I already forgot. His team is absolutely professional - all skilled, talented, efficient, respectable and experienced craftsmen. All in all the fence turned out better than I had imagined or expected. It's straight and true and beautiful to look at, with good quality materials. They built it made to last. I think it will still be standing a good fifty or more years from now! It's really solid. They even went wayyy out of their way to do me a favor, and used some of the scrap to build me a little halloween coffin that I asked them to make for a creepy monkey doll I have. The first one they made was larger than I wanted, so they did it all over again! How nice is that?? What great guys, to do something like that for me! They were all so pleasant. If there is only one small thing to mention, and it's just for particular fussbuttons, if you are picky and anal about small drops of cement possibly falling onto your existing patio or sidewalk, let them know upfront to be extra careful and put tarps down. I noticed a little dribble here and there, but I think that's to be expected by any team of hardworking men who do this type of work. I highly recommend Estrada Fences, and plan on having them install a front-yard security fence next summer. I trust the quality of their work implicitly.

Time frame = two days! Maybe because we were a very small job, but either way...very grateful. Monday, 3:30 pm. I called and Luis Estrada answered his phone(!!) his response to my query was "when can I come to see you?" Monday 5:00 p.m. Estimate made, agreement to do the work done. He thought about it and said "tomorrow or Friday, but for sure this week." I wanted to doubt him but he was very earnest. Tuesday 3:00 p.m. I return home from a meeting and there are men in my yard completing demo on that rotten, floppy fence. Tuesday 4:30 p.m. chain link fence complete, they left no mess in the yard, took the old fence away, Mr. Estrada asked me to inspect the work before collecting payment. Best estimate, most honest experience. He even thanked us for our business. Now that we have all chain link we probably won't be needing him, so if you do...high praise.

They completed the work in 2 days, as promised. We had a few immediate issues with gate, so workers had to return a few days later to fix. Luis Estrada was very responsive to our phone calls and requests for his team to return to fix problems at first. However, some later issues were not addressed, as requested. One member of the crew was extremely responsive to our requests, but the others were not.

It went very well. They completed the job within a couple of hours. They did everything they said they were going to do and more. They fixed the lock on the fence which was not required, but we were very happy that they did this.

Estrada started the work two days after I told Luis I wanted him to do the job. The first day he worked in spite of a rain storm. He remained working at the house the whole day. even through it never stopped raining. He came back the next day (a Saturday) and finished the job. His workers were all pleasant and well mannered. When they finished the job, they cleaned up all the litter that had accumulated.

Mr. Estrada came promptly to give me an estimate for a 90 ft. replacement of a deteriorated wooden fence with a 6 foot chain link. He was able to complete the job the next day. His workers arrived promptly and worked all day. The fencing and posts are not perfectly plumbed, but there are big tree roots and bushes on both sides that had to be worked around. The fence looks secure. I was not aware that some of the bushes and plantings would have to be removed and was a bit surprised. I understand, however, why this was needed but I wasn't expecting the degree of trampling. Cleanup was not as thorough as I would have liked --- gravel and concrete dust on driveway and some bolts and bits of wire left behind.I am pleased with the result and how the job was handled. I believe I got a very fair price and would use them again.

They came several times. Their prices were reasonable.

Estrada put up a cedar fence in April. The quality was good for the price we paid, though the height of some of the posts weren't the same and some of the screws were still sticking out. They told us it would need to be stained about 4 weeks later to protect it from graying. So about a month later we called to get a quote on staining. We got him to come down about $50 off the original quote, we picked out ac cherry wood stain (per his suggestion), and then we scheduled the work to be done on a Saturday. Here's where it all goes wrong... the Friday before they were supposed to come out, Luis called and asked if they could come that day instead. We were hesitant since we wouldn't be there to make sure everything was done properly, but he assured us it was ok for us not to be home. At the end of the day we never received a call telling us the work had been completed, so we assumed everything went smoothly. When we got home that evening, though, we were horrified to find a pick, splotchy stained fence. It looked terrible. What's worse, they had used a spray gun to apply the stain, and they had gotten stain on everything in our back yard, including the vegetables in our garden. It was on our downspouts, our patio furniture (which could have been moved out of the way), the neighbors fence, the brick on our house...everything. Had we been home, we would have covered what we could, but instead we ended up having to pull up most of our vegetables. At that point, we called Luis to ask what happened and why the fence looked so bad. He said the stain wouldn't take on the wood for some reason and they the amount of money he quoted us wasn't enough to cover it. After some pushing, he agreed to come back the next morning and apply more stain. The next day, we waited around until 2:00 pm for them to show up (after calling Luis numerous times and being told they'd be there "soon"). The 2 guys that came had not been told that they needed to restain the entire fence, so then 1 of them had to go back and get more supplies. They finally got started again (not bothering to put tarps or plastic over anything again) and after 2 more hours, the stain still didn't look right. We had to continually point out areas where it was blotchy. When we asked them why it looked so bad, they told us Luis had told them to only put 2 coats of stain on, and that usually a job like that requires at least 3 coats. When they were done, Luis got on the phone with us and started to get loud about having to send his guys out there and use all that stain. He ultimately hung up on us. We completely regret having Estrada Fences install and stain our fence. Please save yourself the headache and go with someone more professional.

Great service, they did an excellent job fixing my fence and the price was reasonable. Would use them again.

Mr. Estrada came and made an estimate of the cost. He was the low bidder. He selected a date to install the fence. His crew constructed the fence in a timely manner. I was pleased with the quality of the fence and the way the job was handled.

Called Luis on Tuesday, he came right on time to give me an estimate. Crew arrived on Thursday just before the appointed time and began work immediately. Gave them a few specifics for the job and they started immediately. Everything went smoothly and they completed the job within 3 hours. Job was excellent and workers were very proficient. When they finished, everything (old fencing) was picked up and taken away. I couldn't be more happier with the job they did. Would use them again, without question. They are prompt and efficient.

I found him on Angie’s List. I had an excellent experience with him. I am a tight guy; in retrospect I believe it was a fair price for both parties. When I gave him instructions, he came out here and told his people “Here’s what you do, do, do”. As they were doing the job, I wasn’t happy and I told them “This is not what I told Mr. Estrada” and they corrected it. They did it the way I wanted it. I have to say they were responsive to me; they did do it the way I wanted it. I am planning to use him again. I am going to be required by court to fence a vacant lot that I have. I will find out this weekend what the city ordinance wants me to do, regarding their ordinances on an empty lot. If they require a fence, he is going to get the job.

Had an appointment set at 3:00. They arrived 30min early and parked in the driveway while another company was finsihing estimate and then drove away and called and asked if they could push appointment up to 2:45. I said sure but then the guy called back in another 5min and said he had to go to a job site and would ahve to come back another day..... even though he had just left. Seemed very unprofessional and I don't think they are licensed....just thought so many good reviews would be worth it. A little too shady for me??????
