DOVETAIL DECKS & PORCHES

Description of Work: The project was replacing a deck in our backyard, tearing out the old rotten wood and duplicating the deck design that was already there with new materials. George is a very personable and honest person. From the beginning we felt that he had our best interests at heart. He was able to negotiate some problems we had with our materials. We were going to use Trex composite. As it turned out the color of the material was inconsistent and there was a potential for mold (this is just a side bar for those people thinking about using Trex, check out the web site Trouble with Trex). George helped us get the material returned and after 6 weeks of this hassle he was able to begin on our deck with cedar. He did a great job on the deck itself matching the floor boarding well on a deck that wasn't simple. Thus this is a mixed review. You couldn't beat his price and he probably under bid the project under estimating how difficult it would be. We had an estimate from Deckwerks that was almost twice as much.

Description of Work: They built the patio stairs at my home.

Description of Work: Replaced broken water pipe from inside house to outside faucet with copper pipe; installed shut-off valve.

Description of Work: Goerge Perszen said he'd come by, take a look at the concrete work needed and call me back on Sept. 4th. It is now Sept. 18th. He hasn't called or sent a proposal.

Description of Work: George Perszen completely rebuilt our back porch and balcony. The old porch was totally demolished and everything was newly constructed from the cement anchors, floors, railings, posts, ceilings and the balcony was newly screened in. Electrical outlets were added for outside convenience. George also replaced an old wood fence with a 4' black steel fence, with 2 gates. The fence was secured by mixed concrete poured into the ground holes. He also spent a lot of time making certain the fence was even across the top, since our ground was very uneven. George also poured a concrete sidewalk running along the garage to the alley. He put up an outdoor fan on the new balcony and installed light fixtures.

Description of Work: Removed and replaced TWO floor drain traps in my basement. George and his worker broke the concrete floor surrounding the floor drains, dug out around the drain pipes and removed the cracked drain tile pipes and replaced these pipes with new pipes. The trap area of the floor drains were cracked so they would not hold water in the trap under the floor so they were leaking sewer gas into my basement. They then replaced the cement on the floor and sloped the new floor cement to facilitate good drainage into the floor drains. Cleaned up after the work.

Description of Work: Railing and deck repair.

Description of Work: Removed a large porch and rebuilt a 2 level porch with full roof and stairway for a four unit apartment building. Poured 8 new foundation piers, bolted ledger boards to building, put all new pressure treated wood framing and deck boards, removed old concrete steps and expanded basement access area (poured concrete walls) and used the hundreds of bolts and other hardware required by the city of Chicago. Also built nice stairs to basement and up to the second floor or the porch.
