No one wants to be in the situation we found ourselves in; we woke up in the morning to our basement flooded, with a burst hot water heater. American Vintage Home was amazing, coming quickly on-site to get our hot water heater repaired, and up and running again. Lauro and his team team was knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly kind to us as they went through the process. They worked together really well with our restoration company to ensure that damage was being reversed to the basement while the hot water heater was being replaced. That kind of emergency situation is chaotic, but they were awesome throughout. Unfortunately, the hot water heater bursting made it clear that there were additional problems in the house that needed immediate repair; several valves (including the water main!) wouldn't shut off properly, which required a call to emergency services and late-evening work. Lauro and his team helped us through the process, and we now have a much higher confidence in our house, as he's caught, and expertly repaired, those other problems. In addition to Lauro and his team, we've worked with many other awesome and talented people at American Vintage Home, from Andrew who helped us diagnose and repair an HVAC issue, to Eric and Jerry who helped us perform our whole-house plumbing inspections, inside and outside our house. We're happy to be members of their home service plan, and are exceptionally impressed with all of their great team and great work.

Standard AC service to get ready for the summer. Very polite and helpful technician who took care of things thoroughly and effectively. American Vintage Home is my first choice for HVAC.

American Vintage Home attended the home in person before providing a competitive quotation. The tradesmen who decommissioned and hailed away the old units and installed the new equipment were professional and courteous and kept us informed of progress. The job was completed on schedule.

I was so scared to add minisplits to my home, but this experience was great from start to finish. Everyone involved was patient, kind, and knowledgeable. And they left the house even cleaner than they found it (despite spring rain and sleet!). I recommend American Vintage Home with gratitude and enthusiasm!

Terrible company. Installed central air 10 years ago and it has been nothing but trouble ever since. A nice annuité for American vintage. 500+ repair costs every year. The latest: system is leaking Freon. Another 200+ per year. What about finding the leak? No, too difficult. I need to replace the entire space pak as well as external unit. Not that expensive. Maybe 25-30k. No way are these people ever installing anything for me

Really frustrated with AVH. Called and made an appointment to have someone come out for sewer rodding. The booker told me they could not give any kind of rate until the plumber came to the home. Was told that we would receive a phone call before the plumber arrived - we did not - and he was knocking at the door at 8:00am. He told us it would be $600 (this is after a 15% discount we receive as one of their monthly plan holders, so original cost would be $730 for a basic sewer rodding). As far as a plumber goes Tony was pleasant and professional and did good work. Tony explained that the $730 is their BASE rate and things can get more expensive based on distance of your sewer line to the house, length of the pipes, etc. When he was done we were told another plumber would be by afterward to run the camera through to make sure things were clear, something every plumber at this company is quick to tell you separates them from the competition (meanwhile also telling us that they lowered their costs to stay competitive). They never showed. What's even more frustrating about this whole thing is that 3 years ago, this ran us half the cost by the same company after our basement flooded due to a rootball in the sewer line. So essentially, we paid twice as much, had less work done, they didn't finish the job and the company as a whole is not transparent about their BASE rate before a plumber even comes to your home. Will not have them back.

While American Vintage Customer Service is excellent, their repair costs are out of all ethical bounds. The replacement of two flame sensors and an ignitor was quoted at $791. This is an outrageous price, as the parts materials for all three come to $86 on Carrier's website. When I called to complain, they have a ridiculous story about how that includes technician time, which (for this repair would come to $2950/hr at the above rate). They don't break out part quotes, insisting instead that they always give a fixed price upfront so there aren't any surprises. This is utter doublespeak and completely unethical. I canceled our service contract with them as they are not trustworthy as a vendor.

Deceptive Practices / Fraud Alert American Vintage Home (AVH) has engaged in deceptive practices in order to charge me more money than initially quoted. It appears they are using a bait and switch method where the initial quote was lower in order to secure the contract; however, the ensuing work then "uncovered a new problem" that more than doubled the initial quote. AVH was hired July 20th 2021, to complete a comprehensive inspection of a sewer line repair that resulted in a work proposal of approximately $8,000.00. As part of the contract to complete the work, AVH was supposed to provide video recordings of the work prior to and after the work was completed. During the work phase, AVH used a camera to scope the entire sewer line on four separate occasions; each time I was told the entire sewer line was in great shape and did not need any repairs beyond the original proposal. After multiple delays, the plumbing supervisor Kris Kauth, met with me on site on August 9th, 2021, to review the completed work. During this review, Kris used a camera to view the entire sewer line and reported all of their proposed work is complete and the entire sewer line was in intact. Kris also suggested that they would use their "jetter" to clear out a little sludge left in the pipe from their work and once they completed that task, they would collect the balance for the project. Again, I asked Kris to provide the copies of the video and schedule the jetting of the sewer line with me so that I could be on site and review the completed project. Kris refused to provide the recorded video. I attempted to schedule the jetting on 3 separate occasions but I kept being delayed. Kris then called on 11/4/21 saying the work was done but they uncovered a new problem that would require $10,000.00 to fix. Kris advised they jetted the sewer line on 9/2/21 without notifying me. Kris again denied my request for the videos stating they never recorded their work. AVH either caused the damage or intentionally withheld the information. To date, I have not received any assistance or offer from the business to resolve their colossal error.

After working with them for two years, I can say without question that their entire business model consists of unnecessary upselling to the point of being almost criminal. I’ve been told to update my working AC unit immediately this year without the guy even looking at the unit. Then he offered to clean the unit site unseen for a mere additional $600. Umm.. what? All other quotes to clean or replace my HVAC were less than a third of what they charge. Three months ago I asked for a refund of what I’ve spent on their annual maintenance plan for this year and to cancel my existing plan as I do not agree with their shady business practices to which they agreed on the refund and the cancellation of the annual plan. I’ve continued to be charged every month since. I’ve had to call them no shortage of 7 separate times and this is still unresolved. Do yourself a favor.. avoid the headache. Go literally anywhere else.

I was told the entire unit would need to be removed and the lines drained and refilled in order to address the leak, and was quoted a rate based on this. 2 technicians came to do the work and said it was just matter of insulation and that they could do it without taking the whole system apart. I stayed with them, and indeed, one of them lifted the unit away from the wall while the other re-insulated the lines and the leaking stopped. Took less than an hour total. However, they still charged me for the original quote. 2 guys for half a day, plus parts and recharge. When the office called me the next day to check on my satisfaction with the job, I explained to them what happened, and expressed that I was displeased that the bill wasn't adjusted to reflect the actual work performed. I was told that the would escalate this internally and get back to me. I called the office a few days later and spoke to a woman that had no idea who I was or that I had raised an issue. Said I would be followed up with, and never was. I wrote the whole thing up in email because I was sick of repeating myself and sent it to them. I received no response. It's now a year later, almost to the day, and the unit is leaking again. I logged into Angi to find a new heating and cooling company, and thought I would leave a review since I didn't before. I gave them multiple chances to address the issue and they ignored me each time. Incredibly angry that I'm going to have to have the unit repaired again. Not only was I overcharged last year, the work has not held up.

Terrible. Even after a week of repeated phone calls and requests they would not provide a written estimate for me. Very unresponsive and unprofessional. If they cannot get an estimate done than for sure they cannot get the work done.

During previous inspection learned DW was installed to drain via disposal. Chris redid the piping to drain directly into drain pipe. Checked for leaks, none. Efficient, no issues.

Tim was great - very punctual and able to diagnose our issue and provide a clear recommendation right away. I would definitely have him come inspect any plumbing issues we have in the future

For the most part it went okay, I have been using American Vintage Home for awhile at our old bungalow and they have always done great work. With this project, Remy, Jerry, Chris and Carl all were very professional, helpful and did a great job. My reason for a B rating here had to do with their subcontractor, who did the excavation of our basement floor to get to the broken pipe. The communication between them and American Vintage Home was not great. I never really knew when this subcontractor was going to show up and there was not great planning with the team at American Vintage Home for when they would complete their work, so that that AVH could do their job. Lastly, the subcontractor took awhile to come back after the completion of the project to pickup their garbage cans full of excavated materials.

Nick was great, we investigated the issue and worked with our upstairs neighbor as well to locate and problem and get it fixed. He was very polite and respectful of our home. Plus he was great with tips of what to do next.

Mike and the team were awesome. Terrific job, professional, tidy. Explained anything that needed to be explained, gave me a heads up with the house threw a curve from time to time. Always had a solid workaround. Couldn't be happier!

Everything checked out okay. I'm glad to be in their membership plan to get these routine checks. Any work that needs to be done is discounted, as well.
