+ 0 moreI have a Haier window air conditioner. It's possible that it's never worked properly since I bought it five years ago. Finding a repair person has been futile so far. And, yes, I even contacted Haier.
Description of Work: This company no longer repairs window air conditioners. The man who answered the phone was very nice, but he was unable to help me. He was also not able to refer me to anyone. However, I will call him again if I need a repair for a different appliance. I just liked him.

+ -1 moreI VISITED THE SHOP, BUT THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY UNNECESSARY. IT DID, HOWEVER, GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET JOE, THE HANDS-ON OWNER. JOE PERSONALLY CAME TO MY HOME AND REMOVED THE UNIT, TOOK IT TO HIS SHOP ON A THURSDAY AND RETURNED IT THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. (IT IS POSSIBLE THAT IN PEAK SUMMER MONTHS, TURN AROUND MIGHT NOT BE AS SWIFT.) HE PATIENTLY EXPLAINED WHAT HE HAD DONE IN TERMS OF CHECKING THE SYSTEM, CLEANING AND LUBRICATING IT, AND WHAT WAS NORMAL WEAR-AND-TEAR. HE WAS BOTH AN EXPERIENCED REPAIRMAN AND A GENTLEMAN. CONSIDERING THE COST OF REPLACING THE UNIT, THE FLAT FEE AIRE-COOL CHARGED WAS VERY REASONABLE, AND NO TRAVEL CHARGES WERE IMPOSED.
Description of Work: I HAVE SLEEVE (THROUGH-THE-WALL) AIR CONDITIONERS IN MY HOME (CONDOMINIUM-APARTMENT) AND ONE OF THEM NEEDED A THOROUGH CLEANING AND ''TUNE UP.'' IT WAS A 9-YEAR OLD, 11,500 BTU, G.E. ROOM AIR CONDITIONER. I WAS FORTUNATE TO FIND AIRE-COOL, AN EVANSTON COMPANY WHOSE SPECIALTY IS THE SERVICE AND REPAIR OF ROOM AIR CONDITIONERS.
