I was very promptly contacted by the appraiser after purchase of the Big Deal and we quickly settled on a date shortly thereafter. He arrived promptly and made a complete inspection of the house and took the appropriate measurements. The purpose was estate related and the appraisal was delivered approximately a week later. It looks to be an accurate appraisal and we are satisfied with the report. I would use him again without question.

We wanted to put our house on the market so we had them come out to do the appraisal so we know the market value after our house had a fire. They did the appraisal on June 20th and then we didn't get the appraisal until July 9th. He was prompt, he was on time. The service was good. I was pleased with him as far as being thorough and how he measured. He told me that he would get back to me sooner than the three weeks that it took for him to get it. I had to call back and said, "Didn't you say I was going to get something?" I had to follow up. He finally sent the appraisal, but I didn't really agree with it because he was comparing my house to houses that had 300 square foot less than mine. My appraisal was lower than the houses that were smaller than that. The cost of the appraisal was $295. I would not use them again in the future.

He provided a very detailed document that was the result of his personal observation and market research. I received the 20 page analysis within two weeks. It went very well. We were planning on doing a major remodel to our second floor along with remodeling one of our bathrooms to include a roll in shower. Michael provided us with professional information on our home and information on which changes we were considering would help or hurt the resale value of our home in the future (like keeping a bathtub in the master bath). This information helped us to make our decision and we are in the process of remodeling the master bath. He is very knowledgeable about not only home values and current trends but also has a great knowledge of Chicago and it's history and the neighborhoods and suburbs.
