QUICK UPDATE: I had a follow up question after service was done and before I paid the last invoice that I had to submit a few times before getting a response. Getting any kind of meaningful response was difficult and the responses in and of themselves were not helpful. I just gave up and paid the invoice but it did leave behind a lingering disappointment. I would consider using them again but with my eyes very wide open. These are such nice, professional people! I contacted Chicagoland Remodeling via Angies List messaging and got a prompt follow up call from Izabela with a quick appointment. Wally came to the house on time and was able to give me a rough ballpark of what the cost would be. The estimate came quickly and was the most detailed out of all 3 estimates I received for identical work. It was also the cheapest of all 3 estimates I received for identical work. It was an easy decision to select working with this company especially coupled with all of the other positive reviews here and on Yelp. Izabela was very responsive via email - it was very easy to work with her. The work was completed last week. The team on site was very kind, professional and did very good, quality work. They were very precise and paid attention to detail and were quick to answer any question I had. Wally came on site quite a few times to check as well which speaks to a higher level of care and professionalism.

Chicagoland remodeling were phenomenal! I can't begin to tell you how professional Wally, Izabela and their crew were during this whole ordeal. Izabela helped me especially with my Mortgage Company in solving several problems. My first visit with Wally was very informative, he went over everything and explain in details what his company could provide. He made suggestion that were very helpful to me on certain issues. I couldn't make up my mind what type of flooring. Wally provided be with the pros and cons on certain flooring. Wally and Izabela provided me with quality vendors in purchasing cabinets and granite countertops. Izabela always emailed for approval before ordering any item. So I always knew what I was spending to upfront. The guys that came everyday worked diligently from the time they arrived until they left. They always cleaned up behind themselves. I can't begin to tell you how detailed they were with their work. The guys worked very hard to please me and I sometimes asked them for their opinion. I especially spent a lot of time talking with Jack, who made me feel very comfortable with my decisions. He always made sure certain things were done. Wally and Izabela came for the final inspection to discuss the work provided. I was glad to see her because she was so patience in helping me work through this whole process. Once again, I have to say it, if you want the best call Chicagoland Remodeling.

I could not have been more pleased. I was in a time crunch because I was trying to obtain a HELOC and an appraisal was going to be done on my property. The house was looking shabby due to peeling paint and rotted wood on the front, so I was concerned it would negatively impact my application. I joined Angie's List to specifically find a good contractor and was impressed by the rave reviews of this company. I called for an estimate and Wally came out within a couple of days. His estimate was fair and I wanted to hire him, but was concerned about whether he could get the job completed before the appraiser came out. He assured that he could - and he did! The crew that came out impressed my persnickety neighbor with their politeness and consideration. They worked hard all day, got the job done and cleaned up after themselves. The results were beautiful! The appraisal went fine - my HELOC was approved and now I'm going to hire Wally to replace my roof! Very, very happy customer.
Description of Work: Wally and his team sided the front of my home, including the fascia and soffits.
We had a wonderful experience with Chicagoland. We phased out our projects, starting with an entire bathroom renovation. The project went smoothly. Other contractors quoted costs up to 15k (Chicagoland came in around 5k), and they were accomodating with a few minor last minute changes to the plan. The entire project was done within a week. We had such a great experience, that we decided to work with Chicagoland again to finish off carpet installation and a few other updates to our unit. Izabel is great at communication, and ensure projects are executed in a timely manner. There were a few times that workers didn't arrive until an hour or so after the time expected, but that was our only complaint. Wally oversees the work and ensures the finished work meets expectations. They get an incredible amount of work completed very efficiently, while maintaining quality. Highly Recommend!
Description of Work: Lower level bathroom renovation (Tiling, plumbing, installation of vanity, electrical, painting). Carpet and carpet installation (removal of existing carpet, addition of subfloor layer, new carpet), additional electrical and paint work, as well as crown molding and base board installation.

They were efficient and organized and performed quality work. There was no haggling about it, and they did solid work. Their price was very reasonable compared to the rest of the quotes we received.
Description of Work: Tore down existing roof deck and built a new one.
They did a fantastic job! The room is much warmer and looks wonderful - better than when I moved in. The huge gaps between the floor and the previous baseboards are gone, there is insulation even around the electric switchboard, and the box surrounding the pipe has a very easy access door (Previously, I had to unscrew and remove the whole front to be able to turn off the water.)The men worked through a snowstorm, even shoveling the snow for me, even up to the front door, which they were not using for access. They were very quiet, for the most part, and put up plastic to minimize the dust and particles floating about. The work took about three days but with minimal disruption to me. I love Chicagoland Remodeling! Wally is the best - very responsive (I felt like he was treating my house like it was his own house) - and the men doing the actual construction were very hard workers and very knowledgeable, especially the guy in charge of the crew(I did not get his name, unfortunately). Wally came out for the initial review and estimate and also the first day of the work to make sure everyone was on the same track. I will definitely use Chicagoland Remodeling again, as soon as I've saved enough for the next project.
Description of Work: A frozen pipe burst in a first floor room due to the first polar vortex in Chicago, damaging the wall and carpet. That room is always freezing so, in addition to repairing the wall, I asked Chicagoland Remodeling to remove the drywall on three outside walls, put insulation in, replace the drywall, put insulation around the repaired pipe, patch, sand, and paint the entire room, build a box surrounding the pipe with a small door for access, install new casings/farmings around the windows and doors, and install baseboards.

I can't say enough good things about Chicagoland Remodeling. Everyone I worked with was professional, courteous and very helpful. I was impressed with how organized and professionally they handled my contract and the quote for my remodel. Everything was laid out in black and white, so there was no guessing at what was being done and what was included in the price. I thought Chicagoland Remodeling provided excellent service at a very reasonable price. Many other contractors quoted me much higher and didn't include all the services that were included in my project. All the guys who worked on my job were on-time, friendly, very skilled and a pleasure to have in my home. Wally, the owner, really went out of his way to assist me with exchanging the vanity I purchased that ended up being the wrong size. He drove right over with a replacement that I found and helped me return the wrong one, all with a smile on his face. I am so grateful to have had such a positive experience as it is daunting to pick a contractor that does really good work. Everyone on the job went the extra mile for me. It was greatly appreciated. I only wish I had another project because I would definitely work with Wally and his crew again. It was a really great experience.

The original flat roof was sunken in and water was sitting on top like a small lake. I did not know this until the ceiling and the moldings started to come loose. They had to strip roof repair foundation and put a new pitched roof on,they also retiled the lower roofs on house as well as install soffit, fascia and new gutters on house. I think they did a good job.

I'm in the process of evaluating several contractors for a bathroom remodel. Chicagoland Remodeling put together a solid contract with quite a bit of detail, which compares very favorably to couple other estimates that I've received. Although we're not ready to make a decision just yet, I've been happy so far with the service, professionalism, and attention to detail.

I met with them to tell them what I was looking for, and in a few days I got a detailed estimate for 3 different scenarios. Everything was explained to me clearly and they gave me many good ideas that I didn't even think of. My overall experience with Chicagoland Remodeling was very good, they were very easy to work with, always had suggestions for me when I was unsure of something, they were always available when I had a question, and they work fast. I had my new kitchen in less than 2 weeks! It looks fantastic, better than I even imagined.

We met with Wally and Izabela in early July 2012 to discuss our extensive home remodeling project. Wally met with us 2-3 times before we signed a contract. Their bid was competitive and detailed. I was impressed with the level of detail in their bid and contract. Their pricing was fair and better than others because it accounted for many details. I liked that they did not allocate a big contingency fund for overages. Instead, they simply charged us an hourly rate for any work that became necessary after demolition or per Village inspector. Wally and Izabella had a strong on-site presence throughout the job. Wally frequented the site almost daily and Izabela painstakingly tracked the job progress through writing and over 300 photographs. Our project was extensive and time consuming so we had probably 10-15 meetings with them throughout the process. Chicagoland's tradesmen are excellent. My uncle who has over 45 years experience in construction said that their electrician's panel was the most organized and clean install that he has ever seen (My uncle is meticulous and he said that even he would not have been so detailed, clean and smooth with the internal panel connections). We had some goofy old plaster that created difficult repair work post remodeling and electric. Chicagoland's guys did an amazing job. Our Realtor, who focuses on selling old homes in our village, was impressed with how clean it came out. So was my husband! He was stressed out thinking about how it would come together cleanly. Chicagoland's carpenter (I forget his name--50 year old Polish gentleman) was superb. Nothing stresses him and he can pull off anything. As our project was pretty big, Chicagoland was great about not nickel and dime us. Their guys always offered to help my husband with advice and sometimes even lending a hand on his projects. Wally directed various trades to place attention to detail on things that my husband (and me) really appreciate. They sealed the backerboard in our master shower with expensive liquid rubber. They gave special attention to insulation. Their tile work is very good. Chicagoland has a wealth of resources and discounts for project suppliers. We worked with Chicagoland for about six months on the project. We got to know them very well. They are friendly, professional and kind people. Wally even allowed my husband to hire his son to work on some remodeling projects on a per Diem basis, which took stress off my husband and saved us money. On that note, I always felt that Izabela was trying to help us save money while doing things right. Like any big project, we had some issues that came up. Chicagoland was great and helped us solve them. They were fair and reasonable when a few things did not go our way. The shower bench we wanted became partly unfeasible and when their proposals for fixes were not to my liking they issued us a credit. We designed most of the remodel ourselves and they were patient and understanding. I am sure they would have preferred to work with an architect or designer, but they allowed us to do it as we have experience with remodeling. We highly recommend Chicagoland. They are professional, courteous, prompt, smart and easy to work with. They are upfront and honest, which--when coupled with their skill--makes them an invaluable contractor.

It went so smoothly and we are just thrilled with the results! The remodeling started in Nov when we had the floors refinished and a new stair railing and spindles. They turned out beautiful! We left town without any worries knowing that Chicagoland remodeling is so professional and Izabela checked in with me throughout the week. I also picked out the stair railing choices by Izabela e-mailing me pictures... she was wonderful and knew what we were after so it was easy. The second part was the tiling. We had a new backsplash put in and new tile floor in a large entry way and bathroom. Jacek did an amazing job!! He did all of the tile work in our bathroom that we remodeled last spring so we knew it was going to be perfect and it was. They are just so professional, friendly and great at what they do. They have done all remodeling work on our house and we will continue to use them for other projects!

Chicagoland Remodeling's work is great (as far as I can tell from down here on the ground), they were always friendly, and they cleaned up after themselves very well. Because they are so good, they are very busy, so scheduling might not always be immediate. I have to give a shout-out to Isabel, the office manager, who is skilled and knowledgeable in both construction and the insurance aspect of the job. (My roof had hail damage, so insurance paid for much of this job.) Isabel always knew what was going on with the job, and never lost track of me and the work I needed done.
Description of Work: Chicagoland Remodeling (CR) did a complete tear-off (4 layers, including original cedar shakes) and replacement of the roof on my century-old frame bungalow. They did the same for my one-car garage, and had gutters installed on both the house and garage. This was done in December, 2012, with follow-up work (touch-up of paint damaged during tear-off) performed in early 2013, when the weather was better.

Chicagoland Remodeling gave us a timely and reasonable estimate. Their experienced 2-man crew did a thorough job of prepping, caulking and painting the exterior parts of 5 windows and a door. They removed the sashes and also painted the interior surfaces of the window openings. The crew returned a second day to complete the job. In between, a third workman installed and caulked aluminum cladding on one window. All the work was done neatly and professionally, and cleanup was thorough. We are very happy with the results. The company's communication was excellent, and the people we talked with were friendly and knowledgeable. It's a pleasure to recommend Chicagoland Remodeling for exterior painting.

I chose Chicagoland Remodeling based on Angie?s List reviews. I was very impressed with all the excellent feedback they had received, at the same time I was a little skeptical. So I called and set up an appointment. Wally came to my house for the estimate, he was very polite and professional. We went over the details of the work we wanted to be performed on our home. He said that within a few days we should receive a written estimate. I was very surprised when 2 days later I received 21 pages! I must say that the proposal was very professional and very detailed. I decided to call Chicagoland Remodeling and set up another meeting to go over details and set up a time to start our project. Wally & Izabela came out promptly after my initial phone call and gave me details of how the work will progress. They answered every question that my wife asked in detail ;-), and the price was in line with the other quotes I had received. I must admit Chicagoland Remodeling gave me the best price compared to 3 other companies I had chosen to bid on this project. Izabela asked me if I have picked all the material to be used for the project, or do I need any help finding a supplier. She e-mailed me a list of suppliers for materials that allowed me a wide range of products to choose from. They arranged pick-up and delivery of the materials to my home. Izabela was my job manager, checked on the job regularly to make sure everything was being done right. I was very satisfied with everything and always had quick answers to all my questions. Izabela always responded immediately to any of my phone calls and emails, even on weekends. When the job began, the workmen arrived everyday on time, cleaned up at the end of each day and kept my home clean. I was home for the entire process and they allowed me to watch and took time to answer any questions I had. The bathroom was gutted to the studs and completely rebuilt. They updated plumbing, replaced rotted subfloor, put in a new lighting, build new custom shower, tub, toilet and tile. Mirek patiently worked with me as I handpicked all the travertine tile that was used in the shower and he carefully installed them so that the color variations blended well. I must say I was very impressed with how they prepare a shower area, to prevent a leak. I was very impressed with the install, I even googled it to be sure that this will work. They painted the entire shower as well as the niche and bench with a liquid rubber, when was dry they started installing the tile. We are extremely pleased with the finished bathroom and received many compliments from family and friends. After both bathrooms were done, they started on the kitchen remodeling, I liked that they asked questions before the installation process to be sure that I did not change my mind. I did make some changes during the process, but they were very patient and let me coordinate it all. We ran into a few problems along the way (no surprise for an old building) but they were always able to come up with a solution. Additional charges accrued, most for the pluming-we had to replace due to previous leakage that we did not even know. Izabela prepared us a separate quote for all the extra expenses and emailed me so there was no surprises at the end of the project. Whenever we had questions on the billing, Izabela was very detailed in answering the reasons for those charges. The entire project did not take more than a month from the start to finish. Communication was terrific and everyone could be reached by phone or text. We heard back from them within the hour or at maximum within the day. We were very happy with the professionalism and time schedule and would definitely tell all our friends and family about Chicagoland Remodeling Inc. A word about their vendors: the company that installs the glass doors for the showers is awesome as well as Luke (Granite Contractor) he helped me a lot!!! Saved me a ton of money. One more thing all the Vendors and Subcontractors we used based on CR's recommendation, CR DID NOT TAKE MARK UPS on that. They also let us to USE THEIR CONTRACTOR?S DISCOUNTS at their purveyors. I checked that by paying the bills directly to them based on the provided quotes. CR knows they do the job right, this is a critical factor. Get a great contractor and the rest of the workmanship will be highly skilled as well! Good luck for all of you starting out on this journey to remodel. Angie's list was awesome for us.

Absolutely outstanding!!!!!!! I am very satisfied with the work done on my roof by Chicagoland Remodeling. The estimate was done quickly and turned out to be accurate at the time of completion of the work. The representative (Wally) assisted me in picking out the materials, which allowed me to come to a decision with which I was ultimately satisfied. The work was finished in the scheduled time frame. The workers cleaned up after the completion of the work. Also, the price was affordable and overall I am pleased.

It went very well and I would definitely recommend using them. Wally the contractor came out to give a free quote that was very competitive (best out of the 3 A vendors on Angieslist), he pointed out some things on top of what I originally requested based on what he saw ie replacing exhaust, aluminum face that was warped and still came out cheaper then other quotes. The quote / contract looked very professional and they answered my follow up questions. They had multiple teams come out to remove the roof, install new roof, install gutter, rent dumpster, etc... so not only did they do the installation, they managed everything that needed to be managed. They finished everything after a day. I asked for some assistance with nailing down a few loose roofing tiles over my front door awning which they did for no extra charge, it was a small task <10 minutes, but it was nice that they didn't nickle and dime and it would have been a hassle for me w/o any equipment. Only a few points of feedback nothing major: - It took a few reminders to get some questions answered but when I called them, they got back to me pretty quickly. - I did request that they tie in my 1/2 of the roof to my neighbor's side by overlapping 12' over email but when they installed it, they only did 3' and assured me that it was standard. The work look good (I have no clue how to evaluate quality). The key is that we do not have any leaks and if we have any issues, that they would respond quickly. I'll write of post of that experience if needed.
Description of Work: Replaced roof for 1/2 duplex townhouse approximately 800 sq ft. - Removed old roofing down to plywood - Replaced part of water damaged plywood - Hired dumpster - Replaced with new roofing insulation, roofing membrane, applied reflective sliver paint - Replaced gutters - installed new exhaust vent - replaced front aluminum face between roof and brick wall

guy showed up on time every day worked diligently all day. changed sill design of dormer which may have been an issue since house was built in 1908 and missed by architect. repaired circular gutter on porch which is difficult because of design. Description of Work: Leaky roof because of previous owner's DIY addition. They fixed the leaky roof and reworked the gutters so that they made more sense.
This was our first major remodel job and it took us two years to prepared for it. We received estimates from 5 different contractors over that period and they each quoted in a different style which was confusing. We ended up asking Wally of Chicagoland remodeling back twice for estimates as we had some changes to go over with him and he was always prompt and friendly and very helpful. In the process of working on this bath we ended up with two other projects (bathrooms) that Chicagoland did for us which I will detail separately. We ended up selecting Chicagoland which was the second to lowest price of all 5 estimates. From the beginning Wally and Izabella (office manager) were very professional, engaged and helpful. Once we decided to move forward and I called to let them know they scheduled a time to come over to meet with us and review all the details in the contact. 2 weeks later we where ready to sign the contract I was planning on faxing it to them and they said that they would rather come meet with us one last time and review all the details and pick up the contract then. We felt very comfortable with Wally and Izabella after meeting with them so regularly and they were very very helpful as we were making the many decisions which needed to be made at the outset. They also provided excellent advice and resources for finding the fixtures and tile we needed for our project. I would like to share that when Wally came out for the second estimate it was the day after a once-in-10 year storm which created a big leak around our chimney. I asked Wally about the leak while he was here and he looked in out attic and on the roof and discovered that there was no flashing around the chimney. He told us not to worry about it and that he had someone in the area working on storm damaged homes and was going to have them stop over and fix it. We were out of town that weekend and when we cam home the flashing was repinstalled. We cannot say enough about how thoughtful and professional and conscientious Jack (on site manager) and the team that worked on this and our other two projects have been. The crew is SUPER clean. Most of the first day was spent preparing the site and putting up cleverly installed and very tight barriers. We had been warned about the mess a project his size could make but these guys are very focused on the people living at the job site and kept or home so clean that we were able to stay on our bedroom which connected to the bathroom they remodeled. This project required them the tear out an existing bathroom with the HUGE black Jacuzzi tub which had to be cut out to be removed and then replace it with a soaker tub, shower, twin vanities and a walk-in closet. Yes the old bathroom was that big. The plumbing had to be moved for the every fixture in the room. In addition, Jack discovered the room was not plumb and square and the floor was not level and the crew had to correct that. Jack and the crew worked long days in the heat of July to get this bathroom gutted and rebuilt. At every step of the way their attention to detail and their experience and advice and the questions they asked helped produce a result that overjoyed us. There are many decisions which have to be made in a project like this and because of the experience an advice we received from Jack and Izabella we have a final result that exceeded our expectation. We have been particular thrilled with the tile work Jack and his Dad have done. We think it is artistic. I can say with-out reservation we will always call Chicagoland Remodeling for any projects we undertake on our home. I would highlight that they are very clean, very thoughtful and very diligent worker and they offer so much value for the money.

I recently bought my home as a short sale and it had been neglected for many years. In particular there was significant water penetration resulting from old windows, missing gutters and rotted fascia. I researched local contractors and chose Chicagoland Remodeling based on reviews and a fair quote provided shortly after Wally (the owner) came out and assessed all of our issues. Unlike some of the other contractors I considered, Wally was able to start work almost immediately. The team showed up and worked without interruption on the gutters and fascia and it was complete within a few days. Based on that experience I had them do the windows. I was going to go with a Jeldwen product but Wally said he had a window that was just as good but less expensive. He brought a sample by and we decided to go with it. It only took appx 2.5 weeks to get the windows which wasn't bad at all. The house looks much better and from what I can tell so far the windows are pretty good quality for the price. Wally's team is prompt, professional and friendly and I am now considering using the company for other internal projects.
