Very nicely done. They had a crew of six and did the entire roofing job in one day, dawn til dusk. All materials installed exactly as quoted with no communication problems or disagreements. Everything lines up beautifully, which is amazing on a 98 year old house. Very nice clean-up, they even walked around with a magnet sweeper. You would never know we had the roof done by looking at the yard when they were done.
Description of Work: We needed a complete tear-off roof, three layers of shingles, new plywood deck. Started the job one week after we signed the contract, thanks to the nice weather this year. We also had a dormer window and siding replaced, along with faschia and gutters. Everything finished up in about two weeks. Their quote was almost $2K less than others we received.

After meeting with 3 other similarly-rated roofers, we chose to go with Chicagoland largely due to their less expensive prices and amazing costumer service. Isabella was our first, and primary contact during our experience. Her kindness, attentiveness, thoroughness, and knowledge are what sealed the deal. After our first consultation, Isabella called back and explained that we probably could use a couple more vents and that we definitely needed new gutters. She explained that our gutters were damaged and rusting, and needed to be rerouted out of the foundation of our house to avoid water leakage. Our budget was extremely tight, and we had to reach into our emergency savings for the unexpected gutter replacement. Chicagoland sensed our hesitance and offered to throw in our vents for free, remove an old antenna and haul it away, as well as fix up our chimney flashing. These additional offers solidified our confidence that we had made the correct choice with Chicagoland Remodeling. The roofers arrived on time on the day of the roof replacement. They were fast, courteous, and cleaned up every single piece of debris on the ground. Our neighbors even commented about how well the roofers had cleaned up the area, which was a big relief. The next day, our gutters arrived and were hung. Again, everyone was on time and extremely efficient. They were even kind of enough to take the extra time to make my wife pleased with the appearance and location of the downspouting gutters, which was different than their original plan for the route. They listened to my wife's concerns and took the action needed to correctly lay the downspouts, while keeping my wife happy with the appearance. All of this (roof tear-off/replacement, gutters, vents, chimney flashing, and amazing customer service) for just under $5000. You can not get a better experience! I would highly recommend Chicagoland Remodeling to anyone having work done, and will never use anyone else. Thank you Wally, Isabella, and company!
Description of Work: We contacted Chicagoland Remodeling, Inc in July of 2011, for a roof tear-off and replacement, due to severe storms in our area. Chicagoland also replaced the gutters on our house and the flashing around our chimney.

Update 4/18/14 About two years ago we had Chicagoland Remodelers install a new roof and gutters after a hailstorm. After this winter one of our downspouts became loose. We thought it was running into our sewer. Upon closer inspection the water was being directed into the ground with no attachment to our drain tile. The owner came out and repeated that this is what I signed off on. This is true, but shouldn't this situation have warranted a discussion of whether or not this was a good system? When I asked him this and whether this how he would attach the downspouts on his own roof he kept repeating this is what I signed off on. My first impression of this company was positive, but now I am rethinking that this is a company that wants to get the job done rather than keeping the homeowner's best interests in mind. He left in a hurry and did not appear to have any intention of helping me. 10/3/11 The experience was positive. Work was quality and done within two days. Perhaps the best part was a recommendation made by Wally. We had water coming in our basement during storms. Several contractors told us we needed the siding replaced. Wally suggested installing Z-flashing for a total of $270. So far we have not see any water intrusion from the same old spots. I plan on using Chicagoland Remodeling again this summer.
Description of Work: We had gutters, downspouts, new fascia, and a new roof installed due to hail damage. They covered up the turtle vents and installed a ridge vent.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND CHICAGOLAND REMODELING. I HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I have peeling drywall on my vaulted ceiling, and called Cicagoland Remodeling to come out and take a look. Wally, who I am assuming is the owner, came out and told me the roof on our 6 unit building needed sealing, vents needed to be installed to let moisture escape, and new gutters need to be installed. We hired Chicagoland for the roof repairs, and if it went well, I planned to have them do the interior drywall repairs and painting, as well as full remodels on my two bathrooms. (Approximatey $30,000 or more worth of work.) They scheduled the gutter replacement for a Saturday, and I flew home from a work project in L.A. just for this. When they arrived, they told me they actually needed 2 spaces directly in front of the building to park the crane. I live on a main street in Chicago, and I told them this would have been nice to know in advance. They told me that since there were no spaces, they wouldn't be able to do the work. They also said it would cost more for a permit to have them come back during the week. Amazingly, 2 spaces happened to free up as we were standing in front talking. I pointed this out and told them to hurry and park the crane, but they just stood there staring at the building for some reason. I told them again to grab the spaces. but they continued staring at the building, as if the gutters would install themselves. The parking spaces were taken by someone else, and they then told me it didn't matter because it was too windy anyway and they couldn't do the gutters that day. I was furious I flew home from Los Angeles for no reason. I was told later I didn't even need to be home, which would have been nice to know before I flew halfway across the country. I was also told by Izabela (who answers the phones), that the workers they sent weren't very good and they'd send someone good next time. They then came back to do the roof while I was away in L.A. the following week. I came home to find black roof tar on the white siding of my unit, and silver roofing paint tracked onto my wooden deck. They scheduled a second trip to do the gutters the following weekend, and not surprisingly, they never showed up. When I called to check where they were, I was told the ladder they needed was being used by someone else and they had to reschedule for another day. At this point I cancelled all future work and had them send me a bill for the little work they did manage to finish badly. I hired this company because of their positive reviews on Angie's List. I am truly amazed that this is the same company. They completely wasted my time, were very unprofessional (although friendly and seemingly knowledgeable), and failed to get the job done. DO NOT USE CHICAGOLAND REMODELING.

I spoke with this client few times and explain to him in ADVANCED that I need 2 parking spaces to do the gutters (e-mails record to proof it), unfortunately when we showed up, we could not park crane that we rented to perform work because there was no available space. I called and e-mailed few times and I set up a time for next week to perform work however client cancel project so I did not send any crew. We did a roof job and a client has a warranty for that if he thinking that the job is done wrong I will be more than happy to send my worker back to corrected but we never hear from him again. One more thing client did not flew from L.A just to see the gutter work, he mention to us before in the e-mails that he will be at this time in Chicago. As a company we can not satisfied everybody, but we are trying very hard to perform work as good as possible.

We purchased our home about a year ago and it had a very poor excuse for a room addition - it was basically an enclosed sun room. The roof was flat and slanted, the ceiling was 8 feet on one end and less than 7 on the other. And the roof leaked badly. We spent months looking for contractors to rebuild this room for us and had no luck - I spoke with literally more than a dozen companies and not one came close to the price Chicagoland Remodeling gave me. Words simply cannot express how happy my wife and I are with the new room addition. Chicagoland Remodeling delivered with exactly what they promised us - and at the price they quoted. Not only did they do quality work at a very good price, they completed the job quickly. Start to finish was less than a week - and it would have been sooner had it not been for one or two rainy days. We have a great room now - vaulted ceilings, a high pitched roof, and they matched the siding perfectly to the rest of the house. Not to mention all new soffits, facia and gutters for the addition. And no leaks!! I could write for hours. Seriously, these guys are very professional, and do great work at a great price. A++ and I would highly recommend to anyone out there. Do yourself a favor and at least get a quote from Chicagoland Remodeling before awarding your next project to someone else!
Description of Work: Completely rebuilt the flat roof room addition on our home. Ripped off old roof, built new cathedral ceilings, re-roofed entire house, and installed new siding on room addition.

They were incredibly thorough and did a great job in quick time. My husband and I loved their work so much that . . . Six days later when we were having another person in to do some other work in the house, we noticed another window that needed some exterior work done to it. On the off chance that they might be able to get someone out to tend to in the next week or so, we called Chicagoland Remodeling, Inc. The phone call was forwarded to Isabella who was at home - sick - who said she would see when someone could come out and get back to us. She called back 5 minutes later and said the crew could be out there that very same day. They showed up and did the work for a great price. We love these guys! The next time we need something done to the house, we're calling Wally, Isabella, and their fantastic crew first to see if they can do it. We highly recommend!!
Description of Work: I was very please with Wally, Isabella and the crew that actually did the work on my house. They came out and did a good deal of touch up stuff around the roof and some exterior windows and doors (flashing, caulking etc.)

Honestly this has been my fist experience with a huge hail storm that completely destroyed my siding and damaged my roof. I did not know what I was getting into with the insurance company. Chicagoland remodeling took my case, and guided me through the whole process. They are very knowledgeable when dealing with insurance claims, and professional. They worked very well in representing my case with the insurance, making sure that all the damages from the hail storm were covered by the insurance assessment. They are very attentive. The voice you here most will be a very nice, cordial voice from Izabela, of their administration office who immediately answered all of my emails and calls. She is very knowledgeable about insurance claims as well. You will also meet Wally, the contractor who has a lot of energy and passion to what he does, and a lot of experience. They did take a while to complete the project, But in their defense, this project was being done during the winter and Christmas Holidays. They also had a lot of other projects from this same hail storm. I also admit that my particular insurance claim situation was pretty complicated, being that I am in the modification process so my claim check was taken and administered by my mortgager directly with the contractor so Izabela had to do much more work being that she had to be in contact with my mortgage company. All in all, My situation, being as complicated as it was, I truly feel I chose the right company for this particular job. They not only helped me through the claim process, but did a great job replacing the roof and siding. The roof was done in two days and the siding was done in a week. The final product is very well and professionally done. I recommend this company to anyone. Right from the beginning, when I asked four Angies List Graded (A) companies to come and do me a quote, Chicagoland immediately impressed me withtheir attentiveness, professionalism and willingness to work with me. The others were either too expensive or I felt they just did not want to work with my case.

I noticed in February 2012 the whole in the wall for the microwave and exhaust fan was measured and cut out wrong. They just shoved the microwave in the whole and they should have known that it would not fit. It wasn't sealed tight that the air could go out. The smell kept going out the vents and the smell kept going through the walls. Even my neighbors would get the smell. Half the microwave was in the drywall and the drywall was all open in the back. I had someone come out to see what is going wrong. He said the drywall in 6 months would be rotten. They pulled out the microwave and there is a huge hole in the wall(that is what the pictures show). We had to close up all the drywall and had to purchase a new exhaust fan and microwave. So we are out the money for the other microwave, the drywall repair, and the tile has to be repaired as well. I really do not like to complain and we just paid them so we could get them out of our house but the hole in the drywall was what prompted us to call Angie's List and give this report. We wanted to warn fellow members and expect no one else to have to go through this.
Description of Work: They remodeled the bathroom, kitchen, they painted, the lighting, the flooring. They cut out a whole in the drywall for the microwave.

Response from Chicagoland Remodeling Inc
Immediately following the completion of this job (April 2011) we received communication from this member that she was very satisfied with the work and now, 7 months later we received this terrible report. Naturally, after bending over backwards for this customer, we are confused and upset as to why the member didn’t call right after she became aware of an issue with the microwave. All of our work is completed with a 12 month warrantee (which has not yet expired for this person) and we have since reached out to the member to remind her of the warrantee and requesting to see the job and correct any issues she found to make sure she would be happy. Our lawyer has tried reaching out to them as well and they have not responded at all to either of us. We can only do so much to seek reconciliation but without further participation from this member, we are at a dead end. If you look to our other reports you can see we do wonderful work and the majority of our customers are incredibly satisfied with our quality. It would not be professional to talk about this person but simple facts need to be stated to shed additional light on this interaction: elements of the report are completely untrue and we have email documentation to prove this, we allowed the members to use our contractor discount when purchasing material because they didn’t want to spend money on quality materials, and they also have yet to pay $1,000 balance on their account. We remain open to providing them the best service available if they ever choose to respond and utilize their warrantee. Should you have any questions regarding this project or anything written here, you are more than welcome to contact us. Sincerely, Izabela and Wally

This project lasted 2 1/2 months from my initial contact to the completion of the project. Some of the time may be attributed to the delay in the new appliance delivery as well as to the holidays. There were some "bumps in the road" during the project and I learned that I needed to ask more questions to find out about timeframes and "next steps." However, Izabela, Wally, and Jack did their very best to make sure I was satisfied and happy with the work. The new solid surface countertops with integrated sink was made and installed by a subcontractor. It didn't actually fit to my new stove (the subcontractor had the printed specs) but satisfactory adjustments were made. I love it! Rather than trimming the cabinet on site, Wally decided to take it to a cabinet maker who cut it perfectly. Jack made a box shelf that was exactly what I envisioned. Overall, I'm very happy with my "new" kitchen!
Description of Work: Replaced the kitchen countertops including installation of new sink, faucet, and garbage disposal. Also adjusted a cabinet so the new refrigerator would fit and built/installed a box shelf to fill the space after removing the broken intercom system.

I‘ve been looking for an honest and reliable contractor for a remodeling project. I set up few appointments with few different construction companies. One of them was CHICAGOLAND REMODELING. When Wally came to my house I tried to describe him what I want, Wally was very patient and knowledgeable, he also give me few advices which helps me a lot. I asked Wally if he can prepare for me detailed estimate and roughly cost. His price was comparable to one other bid, and lower than 2 others. I chose Chicagoland Remodeling because of my confidence in Wally. My confidence was confirmed and rewarded by Wally’s employees Jack, Mike and his father, they were always very responsive, polite and patient in explaining things, open to working with me on changes, and helpful in making suggestions. Jack always delivered what he said he would, and he and his workers were unfailingly professional. We had to re-do the electrical in the bathroom to get everything up to code after the previous owner left things a mess. Jack also re-did some drywall and painted. But I am so thrilled when Wally told me that Jack has surprise for me and he made a beautiful in wall build shelf with glass shelving, he also did a great job by adding a glass tile design around my bathtub. Wally and Jack handled all the inspections and everything passed without problems. Chicagoland Remodeling also handled a few smaller jobs that I decided to have done (as often happens with remodeling) and they did so quickly even though they were not originally scheduled to be done. I could not be more pleased with working with Wally and his crew. I was home most of the time, and I was really happy with the respect for the house and the way the workers cleaned up after each day's work. Wally and CR exceeded our expectations in every aspect -- it's what working with a contractor should be! I’ll definitely call to Wally and Chicagoland Remodeling again in the future whenever I want more work done.

Every aspect of the job was ideal. I got 2 estimates from two different remodeling companies for the work described above and Chicagoland Remodeling came in much lower than the other quote. Their estimator showed up the day after my phone call to the company, and completed his estimate within 10 minutes. The company stuck by that value to the penny. The quality of work was great; the roof took one day to tear off and replace and they followed all the best practices for rolled roofing (sufficient backing material, melt the roofing material to the backing, finish with a silver-paint surface to reflect heat). They left my yard free of debris and hauled everything away themselves. The drywall job was equally well done. The leaking roof that they replaced the previous week had done some damage to the rear stairwell of our house over the years, and Chicagoland did a full tear-off, re-insulate, drywall, and paint. They even repaired additional damage they found in the stairwell that had not necessarily been caused by the water, "since we're already here". I was not charged extra for any of these services. They returned my stairwell to me in a timely manner (3 total days of work to let everything set and paint to dry). I was very impressed with the workers that came out to perform the work, as well. We have a small child at home and - as much as possible - the workers did not cause an extreme amount of noise, nor yelling or anything of the like. From past experiences, I know this is more rare than perhaps it should be. Also, the fact that they don't sub-contract any of their work made me very comfortable that I could count on them. My only issue (if you can even call it that) is that it took some time to actually schedule days for all the work. They were booked pretty solid. However, I would rather hire a company that has a lot of customers because it lets me know they have a good reputation. I will be hiring them again in the spring for additional work in our home.

We had a great experience with Chicagoland Remodeling a year ago when they did several miscellaneous remodeling projects for us on our condo, including new windows and patio door. We have been extremely happy with their work so when we purchased a microwave to go over the stove top we thought we would contact Chicagoland Remodeling to see if they would be interested in such a minor job. We emailed Izabela on a Tuesday morning and she responded very quickly that Wally would come out the next day to see exactly what we needed. They were very flexible to work around our schedule and we were very impressed with their responsiveness. When Wally came to see what we needed I pointed out the dead electrical outlet closest to the stove top because I wanted him to be aware of it in case it may be a problem for the installation of the microwave. Wally said they would fix that as well, which I was very happy about because the outlet hasn't worked since we bought our condo 6 years ago. Anyway, they scheduled the work to be done while we were off work so they were very considerate of our time. Also, we were very impressed that they scheduled the work within less than one week from when we first contacted them, especially considering how minor the job was plus it was during the holidays. Wally and his two man crew came out on the observed New Year holiday and completed the work in less than one hour. They did a great job and even cleaned up when they were finished. We would like to do more remodeling in the future and we will definitely use Chicagoland Remodeling. We recommended them after they did work for us a year ago and we would definitely recommend them again. They do great work at an unbeatable price and are very professional.

We wanted our garage roof replaced and some patch work done on our house roof. We contacted Chicagoland Remodeling in early to mid-October and had them come out to look at our house and garage. Someone did come to look things over and said that we would be getting an estimate within a couple of days. When more than a week had passed with no communication from the company, I called. First, I was told that they couldn't find a record of the visit to our house. Then I was told that they had found the record and they would have an estimate written up that afternoon. After a couple more days of calling, I did receive an e-mailed estimate for the work. A couple of days later, my husband and I initialed and returned the estimate. A couple of weeks passed with no further communication from Chicagoland Remodeling, after which my husband began calling the company to ask when they were going to schedule the work. He had to call repeatedly over a period of about a week or so. Finally, he received a call from the company's scheduler. It was 4 p.m. on a Friday, and the scheduler said that they would be there at 8 a.m. the next morning to do the work - giving us very little notice of their arrival, obviously. They came and replaced the garage roof, but didn't touch the house and didn't tell my husband why they hadn't done the work on the house. Another extended wait for communication from Chicagoland before my husband again began calling to tell them about a couple of bumps in the garage roof and to ask what was going to be done on the house roof, and when (we were now into December and had actually had a small snowfall already). He had to leave several messages with the office and never did get a call back. Instead, with no warning, someone just showed up on our doorstep one day. He took a hammer and pounded a couple of bumps in the garage roof and told us that they couldn't patch the house roof because they wouldn't be able to match the shingles - something they could have talked to us about much sooner. My husband asked for an invoice for the work that had actually been done and we received one in our mail box several days later. By this time, it was almost Christmas, and I admit that I did not send payment immediately, as I was busy with holiday obligations. Instead of calling us to remind us about the invoice, someone from Chicagoland showed up on our doorstep on the morning of New Year's Eve - without any warning, of course - to demand payment. Obviously, as they had done the work on the garage, we provided a check for that work. Although the work done appears to be all right and the fee reasonable, the extreme level of frustration we experienced with communication problems made this a really negative process. I would not use Chicagoland again nor would I recommend them to anyone else. This was a real surprise and disappointment due to the fact that they had such a high rating on Angie's List, and our previous experiences with highly-rated Angie's List providers had been very good.

Amazing and great job. The house is eight years old, we bought it a year ago. The new roof and siding look better than when we bought it - I think they did a better job and better trim work than the developer who built it 8 years ago. This was a major job as far as we were concerned. They got a huge crew together and ripped off and replaced the roof on the house and garage in a day. The siding was done efficiently, I think two and half days, but a big job. Gutters in less than a day. They had to work around the weather and made sure the roof was done before rain, that gutters got up before rain, and siding was scheduled between rain storms. And they did a fantastic job cleaning up. Wally, or Izabella or Andy stopped by at the beginning and end of each stage, at times that worked for us, my husband and I both work so they came early in the morning or on a Saturday. They checked to make sure the clean up was good. A couple of really nice things about the company -- they offered to use a better insulation under the siding (which is great) and they offered better vent covers on the roof and for the siding for dryer vent that actually match the siding and roof. I didn't realize how ugly the old vent covers were. No extra charge for putting on better quality and looking vent covers. They really cared about the quality of their work and the appearance of it! They spent time on the phone with me and my insurance company to get approval for all of the work. Thank you Chicagoland Remodeling. I thought they worked fast when they were here. We have a two year old and the company wanted to reduce the number of days of loud noise for repairs as well as clean up so our son didn't step on a huge nail or screw. We are thinking redoing our basement and we would use this company to do it. I HIGHLY recommend this company.
Description of Work: We had significant hail damage to our house and garage this summer. Wally came out to do an estimate and found more damage than our insurance company did. Chicagoland fought with our homeowner's insurance to get everthing covered. We needed new roof on house and detached garage, new gutters, house and garage, siding on two sides of house and garage, repair work to second floor balcony, repairs to screen door and a storm door, and interior painting from water damage. While they were out, we asked them to do a couple of extra things (repair cement on front walk and install an additional storm door) which they agreed to do for a reasonable price (better price than anyone else quoted). THEY DID A FANTASTIC JOB!!!

I had used Wally and Chicagoland Remodeling previously for a project and found the quality of work and price to be unbeatable. So, after getting several other estimates, I decided to go with Wally again for my roofing project. His quote included very high quality shingles and still came in on the low end of all the quotes. We met a second time on site and finalized plans for the job. Though his guys were busy for a few weeks, he promised (and delivered) on getting one of his best crews on the job before the window closed on the roofing season. In two days, the entire job was completed without difficulty. The workers were efficient and left no trace. The roof looks great! It's both sound and attractive!
Description of Work: My roof was in need of replacement. The previous two roofs were torn off, all appropriate underlayment was applied and a new roof was installed over the course of two day. Additional venting caps were added as was a small shelf to help prevent ice damming in the winter...at Wally's suggestion and at no additional cost. A tree was also taken down and hauled away, along with some other tree branches.

They did a really good job, showed up on time and it was as expected. We looked at their recommendations on Angie's List and it worked. Initially they bid on the job, cleaned up their mess real well and the supervisor inspected the job when it was completed. We felt like their price was competitive but we did not look for a lot of other bids; we just wanted somebody to do a good job. It was real nice tile and was laid down really well; everything was good. They were very responsive answering questions and I will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Chicagoland Remodeling to install new tile flooring.

They were great. We had a crack in our outer wall that resulted in some flooding of the inside wall paneling of the paneled wall and some of the carpeting. So they pulled out the paneling, pulled up the carpet, setup dryers to dry everything out. Then I had to get somebody else to come out and plug the hole in the wall and after that was done they came back and put the paneling back in. There was one piece in the middle of that, where the other contractor whom I used to plug the hole in the wall did some fraudulent things as far as letting us or not letting us know whether we had to cut out some of the 2by 4 that were beneath the paneling before they could do the wall ceiling. But after they came out and gave the estimate they said that they won’t do the cutting of the 2 by 4s. So actually I had to call Chicagoland Remodeling Inc to come back out. They are way out somewhere I don’t remember where but they are very far out. So they came to a five minute job of cutting out of the 2by 4 and properly plug the hole and the whole thing was solved. They went above and beyond their call of duty.
Description of Work: We used Chicagoland Remodeling Inc to plug a hole that resulted in flooding the inner paneling and carpeting.

The contractor would work with me on any changes that might be needed after any tear off (siding) etc. there were no extra costs for these changes. They did clean up on a daily bases and left the site clean. They wanted to make sure I was pleased with the work they were doing and pointed out any issues they came accross. The house looks great with new siding and windows.
Description of Work: Had Hail damage and insurance covered replacement of roofs, pitch roof and flat roof on house and garage roof. Also siding on the house all sides and garage replaced. Had windows replaced on whole house on 1st and 2nd floors.Material used was of top quality as was the windows. The contractor worked with me as the project moved forward on needed changes without any extra costs.Costs were paid by Insurance except some windows which cost about $4,100.00. these were order by owner.

We decided to have our only full bathroom remodeled while we were away on vacation. The bathroom was completely gutted and all the fixtures were replaced. The estimated cost of the work was honestly 30% less than other estimates we recieved. The project started ontime and was finished in a little over a week. The guys even came in for a few hours on a Sunday to finish up the tile work, outstanding! Izabela emailed us pictures of the work being done everyday and kept us informed on the progress while we were away. Wally was like a mind reader as far knowing what we wanted done and how we wanted things to look. I am looking forward to working with Chicagoland Remodeling on future household projects.
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel Removal of walls, ceiling and floors. Installed new plumbing and electrical. Installed new lighting and exhaust fan. Installed new drop in tub, shower and shower door. Installed new toilet. Installed vanity, sink and faucet, cabinet and mirror. Tiled shower, tub skirt and floor. Installed new door and lockset. Build area for new shelves. Primed and painted walls and ceiling.

Wally, the owner, added a very high level of expertise and professionalism to our soffit repair. Although this was a small job to repair damage caused by squirrels, Wally treated us as if our job was his only job and took the time to suggest ventilated soffit to improve ventilation in our attic. Izabella, the Office Manager was especially responsive throughout the process, sending us our quote the same day that Wally came out to take a look at the job. She returned calls and e-mails the same day and often within the hour. When we asked for the warranty on the soffit material, Izabella not only provided the manufacturer's website and warranty, she delivered a paper copy of the warranty to our home. The work was completed in a timely manner, before the snow and winter came.. Chicagoland Remodeling earns an A+ in our book and I would definately recommend them to friends, neighbors, or anyone looking for quality work and attention to detail.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced soffit with cedar and covered soffit with ventilated soffit to improve ventilation.

I was very pleased with the workers, and Izabela was great. She communicated with me at all times, was very workable, and accomodating. Jack, the guy in charge on a daily basis was great as well. He knew exactly what I wanted and made sure it happened. I had to get into my home in a rush, but had inspection issues preventing me. The crew was very sympathetic and got to work ASAP to get me into my home. I am very appreciative. I'd hire them again and have recommended them to anyone that asks me. Great job!!
Description of Work: They came in to perform GC work on my newly purchased home. The guest bathroom was a mess and completely outdated before they began. Now it's completely new and beautiful. The other work was contracting work, such as repairing the framing in my garage and fixing the drywall. Great job there as well. They even added a decorative border around the attic acccess stairs. The garage looks newly rehabbed. I actually want to turn it into a workspace.

Chicagoland does a great job. Wally sets the tone and they are responsive from their office management, Izabela to their project manager, Andy. I have had some bad experiences with contractors so I am sure I pestered them on a few things, but they always handled in the most professional way. The work price/value ratio is strong. They did a great job on the roof, chimney and garage. With the basement remodel, they did a good job, as well, although I would say their interior painting is probably the least effective of their services. If I do use them again, I will probably bring in another painter that has better attention to detail. However, that is a small thing in the context of the structural aspects of their work. There can be a few communication breakdowns (between the field and home office or when workers will be at the home), but Andy their project manager is good about letting you know about certain things, just make sure to be proactive if need be.
Description of Work: First hired to replace my roof, fix some tuck pointing and bricks on my chimney and replace the face of garage. Then, I hired to remodel my finished basement after water damage in the July rainstorms.

Chicagoland did an outstanding job from our first meeting with Wally, the owner, to the completion of the project which they did in just two days. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Wally Syzmanski walked us through every step of the project on the first day before presenting his bid. He even recommended ways to cut costs without sacrificing quality. He did not try to push unnecessary extras for the sake of raising the price. Wally was an honest, trustworthy individual. After we received the bid, we were informed that the project would start in about 4 weeks and that they planned to complete the project in two days. They held true to their word. On the first day, a crew of about ten people arrived and completed the house roof in one day. The next day the crew arrived and the garage was completed. The work was excellent. The project manager stayed with the crew from start to finish and was pleasant to work with. First, they covered all the landscaping with huge, heavy-duty tarps around the entire house and garage. They dumped the tear-off roof in two areas that would not damage any plants or structures. The workers worked as a well-trained unit. The final product was perfect; outstanding workmanship; attention to details was evident. The clean-up was also incredible on both days, and we did not have any landscaping that was damaged. When they left, you would not have realized a new roofing job had just been done. The other item I appreciated is that the dumpster used to collect all the old roofing material and new roofing scraps was gone on the day after the project was completed. I will defintely hire them again for other home repair and remodeling projects. We were 100% satisfied.
Description of Work: Replaced tear-off roof on house (including front porch and side entrance) and garage. Needed to cover both roofs entirely with plywood decking because existing structure was 1x6 boards with spaces up to half an inch. Installed ice and water barrier, fiberglass-felt underlay over entire roof, archtectural lifetime shingles, eight vents, and flashing around chimney, plumbing vents, and areas where the roof butted up against the stucco walls. On the garage they also re-pitched the gutters that were not draining properly, capped all window, service door and garage door wooden frames with white aluminum, and put in new aluminum frieze boards, soffit and fascia.
