Our experience is good. It wasn't super cheap. They seemed to be better. They treated us well. They seemed to be efficient. They seemed to do a good work. It was fine. There was a minor issue in terms of getting the paperwork right. It wasn`t a big deal.
Description of Work: We use Terminix. They've inspected all of our homes. They put patches in the ground with certain distances apart around of my building.

The service was not very good and I had a big argument with them. They are not a totally bad company. The main problem was they did not accommodate when we wanted them to come; that was probably the biggest issue. They did not do what we asked them to do on the exterior of the house. They just did not follow directions. I would call and talk to a person and give them specific directions. I would go to the website and type in comments about what I wanted them to do. I know the technician who came out would not do some of the things I wanted done. The big thing was that he would take the same generic report and hang it on the door regardless of what he did so I never knew what he did because the same report would be there, regardless. Then he would call and say he did what I told him to do so I would point out specific things and he would not address the issues. He said he used the same report for everybody. So the thing was that they were not responsive to their customers' specific needs. When I called for specific spraying for ants in the spring they were there and even came once on a Saturday but for my regular spraying I tried to get them here on Tuesday morning and they would tell me no problem, but I would get a voice mail saying they would be here another time. Obviously there was no one in my neighborhood on Tuesday. Their stuff works when they show up and do it, basically I had a responsiveness issue. They were not responsive. When they did the work the quality was good. The guy who came out was nice.

They're great and I'm very happy with their service. The price was also even because I bought a package last year for one year. They came pretty unlimited a lot of times. I'm hiring them again. They were able to control it.

It's not been great. It just depends on who our tech is. I have had some very bad techs and I have had some good ones. I had Freddie, and he is the worst tech ever. The manager gave me a new guy that I really like. He has only been here once. It's been fine ever since. They are just average; I don’t think they are great. The price is $125 every three months if we sign a yearly contract. With regard to price, I don’t know because I haven't priced it out with anybody else. With regard to punctuality, they are here on time. With regard to professionalism, it just depends on the guy. My new guy is very professional.
Description of Work: I use Terminix for pest control. I had a spider infestation. The manager came out and sprayed. I have used them for the last eight years.

We do a yearly thing with them. Our inspections are free. It went fine. It was good. We went to them just knowing the name and when we had them come and give us an estimate and we liked the people we dealt with. I like the service and the service guys are very nice and very thorough.

They are flexible as far as my schedule. The regular pest control person is really nice and she's on time, which is a big plus. Their prices are expensive but you get what you pay for. They don;t have a problem coming out whenever I need them.

I had Terminex treat my house over 30 years ago and I have been paying about $300 per year (approximately $9,000 plus the initial charge for whole house treatment) for the service warranty. There was a second treatment in one local area when I found live termites some years back (I don't remember when). When we redid the kitchen (about 15 yrs ago) one wall was all eaten up by termites. And now we are putting in new flooring and had to remove the subfloor and the floor boards in about 1/4 of the living room because they are all eaten up like tissue paper. The rafters under the floor are also very damaged and need replacement. While working on the flooring 2 people actually had their legs fall through the floor boards and through the ceiling into the basement. I had asked Terminex to pay for the replacement but apparently I didn't have that kind of plan. The plan I have only pays for retreatment. I have left messages for the manager (3 times - each time being told that I would be called back within 12-24 hours). The house needs a deeper inspection and retreatment before we close up the walls and floor. their usual inspection is looking around with a flash light which is inadequate based on the damage that is in my house.. They don't even want to go in the crawl spaces or attic. This apparently is not enough to check for termites. They should be knocking on the exposed boards and use a moisture meter to check for termites. The damaged boards look fine on the outside but if you knock on them you would find out they are hollow. This damage happened during the 30+ years that I have been paying them for service and I don't even get a call back let alone retreatment.

I've consistently had scheduling issues with Terminix. I prefer to schedule my appointments online but for some reason their system doesn't always sync with what they send the technicians and I've experienced many no-shows and services on incorrectly scheduled days but nothing that wasn't easily correctable. Most recently we had a major issue. Our technician called on 7/31, a couple weeks prior to my scheduled date of 8/16 (at the end of a month, I'm assuming he was trying to make a quota), and asked if he could come service our home that day as he was in the neighborhood. I was at work so initially said no. He claimed he would treat the outside of the home that day and then come back on my originally scheduled date and treat the inside, so I agreed. The day of my originally scheduled appointment, 8/16, the technician was a no-show. I called the office and was told that the work order was not submitted properly so my original appointment was never rescheduled. They assured me that the technician was sorry for the mishap and would come first thing the next morning. The next morning came and went and the technician never arrived. When I called I was told AGAIN that the appointment was not scheduled properly. They were unable to reach both the technician or a manager and I was told it would be 24-48 hours until I heard back. Eventually I received a call and asked for an appointment the following Monday between 6-8pm. They confirmed over the phone that was doable but when I was driving home that evening to make it in time for the appointment, I received a call that the appointment was scheduled outside of their service hours and that the appointment should never have been scheduled for that time. I said if they didn't send someone that evening I was going to cancel my service entirely. They sent someone who arrived at 5:45pm and had to wait outside my home until I arrived home. The technician informed me that due to he mix up he would give me a 50% credit for my NEXT service. I indicated to the technician that he shouldn't reschedule my service on his own again to avoid the issue, he agreed. At that time, I chose not to cancel the service. My next scheduled service was for 11/2 between 8-10am and I even received a confirmation call a few days before the service. My scheduled time came and went and at 10:30 I called the office. They were unable to get a hold of the technician or the manager of the office but I was told I would receive a call shortly with an ETA. I waited three additional hours and finally at 1pm, after not hearing a word I tried calling the office yet again and was told that the technician was off that day and they weren't sure why I was scheduled. Again, they weren't able to get a hold of the manager. I requested right there to cancel my service and was told I would be transferred to someone who could process the cancellation but I was put on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up and dialed the national office number. I was able to process the cancellation and even requested a credit for the service in August due to the severity of the poor service. Who knows if I will actually receive the credit but I was told it should process as an apology. I feel that level (or lack) of service is entirely unacceptable, especially after two years of loyal service. There are too many other companies out there that value their loyal customers that there is no need for me to have to deal with a national company who consistently provides poor service. I urge anyone looking for pest control in the Chicago area to look elsewhere.

Had no infestations but semi-regularly visiting bugs from outside that were annoying to deal with. Subscribed for the heavy-duty treatment +maintenance service, ended up with confused ? deaf customer service - not responsive or worse trying to convince me that bugs in a house are expected ? (?) if so then why do we even need a Terminix ? to collect a check? I asked not to send this 'no-effect' service man to my house.... well, they kept sending the same ?doing nothing? guy anyway. Bottom line is that after 4 paid monthly services and two re-treats i had absolutely Zero effect on those summer bugs crawling into or hiding in the house. In fact whatever Terminix did attracted even more bugs it seem. As far as I am concerned unknown or ineffective chemicals have been used despite me reporting of no-effect. And asking again and again not to send the same person to do the service (on the electronic receipt it would be still the same person name with the same ?chemical? that had no effect.) One of the simple and obvious example would be: I had a very persistent spider that kept netting a web around my mailbox - Service man claimed he treated the area twice and after two months I just went to Hope Depot and bought Ortho Home Defense regular anti-bug spray that scared spider away in once single attempt. havent seen it again since than. Absolutely waste of my money and my time. Terminated the contract after 4 monthly treatments ? I don?t want anything from this guys ? just don?t have time for them.

It went well, as it always does. Terminix provides me service quarterly. This service was an additional request to spray inside the home for spiders and ants. Easy to schedule an appointment online. Employees always arrive on time and are always friendly and courteous.

Never told me not to kill any ants that came in after the spraying, or use any of my own spray. Still getting a few ants in various places. I have seen a few more hornets since he left.

Terrible customer service. Employing confusion techniques on phone to avoid canceling your service. I was transferred to several agents asking for the same info (needed to be completed BEFORE they could process cancellation. Find a small friendly pest control service and watch out for these guys.

The service from Termininx was great, I didn't have any issues with it, we didn't have any bugs afterwards.

I had used them for 7 years and had not really been happy. They did get rid of the ants we had, but their customer service was terrible. More often they did not come in the window of time they had scheduled. They were supposed to come last week, I stayed home from work to meet them, and they never showed up. I called and reached someone at a central location who was of no help. You cannot reach a person at the local office when you call--all calls are taken by someone in another state.We had also used Terminix for our vacation cottage in Michigan but had the same problem there. Twice I drove out from Chicago to meet the technician, only to find a note in the door that he had been there the day before and obviously could not get in to spray. So we cancelled them in Michigan last year and have cancelled them in Chicago too.

Signed up for initial and quarterly service. Was promised the technician would arrive between 8am and 10am. At 11:30am and no call from the technician, I canceled the service. If this is how customers are treated, stay away from Termininx.

Had Tony come at first for home inspection. We then had them come to give me an estimate for a yearly contract. After agreeing to the price someone came within two days and sprayed all around the outside and inside of the home. They were both very friendly and courteous.
