Helping Hands Maid Services

They were out this morning. They come at 7 am and one day I looked up at 6:45 and they had been waiting for me. They had come early and it had been chilly this morning. I do my own cleaning at times and I don't have to clean up behind them.

My wife and I recently moved to Elmhurst and were looking for a good house cleaning service. We found Helping Hands Maid Service through Yelp and liked the reviews. I spoke to the owner Edyta who was very easy to work with and accommodating about coming out for an estimate. We scheduled 2 of her employees, ENEDINA and ANA to come out to do a trial clean. The cleaning job that they did was absolutely amazing. They cleaned every nook and cranny and left the house smelling amazing. I'd like to note that we have hard wood floors throughout and a few carpeted bedrooms with a dog that sheds. We were so impressed with the service that we requested ENEDINA and ANA for every clean from now on (twice a month). Edyta was able to grant our request. We gave the cleaning service that we used for 5 years while living downtown an opportunity as well for a test clean to see which service we were going to use. Helping Hands did a much better job with the detailed cleaning than our old service which is why we gave our business to them. I highly recommend Helping hands and I guarantee that you won't find a more genuinely caring owner than Edyta.

In short, I am exceptionally happy with the job that Helping Hands did in my home. They were extremely professional and responsive to my needs. They have saved me a meaningful amount of money on new carpets. The carpets look like new. Helping Hands arrived punctually at the scheduled time. After initial introductions, they spent a few minutes understanding my needs and hopes regarding the job. I did not expect miracles, but they seemed very confident that I would be pleased with the results. After measuring the area to be cleaned, I was provided with an estimate before work began. I was asked about any specific carpet areas that I was particularly concerned with. They significantly exceeded my expectations. How did they exceed my expectations? 1. They found and treated spots I had never noticed. 2. They were very diligent about protecting the rest of the home from any dirt or water from the machine, hoses and other tools they used. Almost to a silly degree. 3. They were on their hands and knees scrubbing out trouble areas. 4. They made two passes over the stairs I was most concerned with. 5. They were very responsive to my feedback

It went poorly on several levels. I recently lost my cleaning/ironing lady. .. 0ne in the same person. My new cleaning service does not provide ironing. I have a lot of ironing. I googled and found helping hands. I first called helping hands at the end of September to arrange for 3 hours of ironing for a specific date in the second week in October. The woman I spoke to was very nice and polite. No issues. I pulled out the clothes, ironing equipment, etc and set up for the woman the night before as she was to arrive at 8 AM on the arranged date of service. The next day, at 8:15 AM, no ironing lady...no phone call from helping hands. I called them at 8:20 AM. I spoke to a woman who was again very nice and professional. She said she'd make a phone call and call me back. She did...about 15 minutes later...and told me that the woman who was supposed to come to my house and not picked up her email notifying her to come to my house. They did offer later that day and even other days but that wasn't working with my schedule. I was upset naturally. I had pulled everything out and no service. I told her I would call them back, I did call them back on the day of missed service and said that these things happen so let's give it a go again. Again, a specified date and time (8AM) was chosen given my other obligations. I received a phone call from Helping Hands the day before the service asking if I could switch days. Really? I said no, please come on the day contracted. I think 8 AM for this type of service is fine. The woman showed up at 7:50 AM...I wasn't completely dressed yet but close. The woman was not the person I was told was going to come at the first appointment...okay. She was very nice and professional but very very slow. She was here for 3 hours and honestly, I could have done more work than her. It was definitely not worth the price for the amount of work that was completed. I have had 3 ironing ladies over the past 10 years so I have a good feel for what can be done. It was very disappointing. I was also paying almost 30% more than for any of my other ironing ladies so I had high expectations. I kept track of exactly how many articles of clothing got ironed per hour. It didn't put a dent into the clothes waiting to be ironed. I honestly set my phone for when her time was up so I could just send her away. At 3 hours, I thanked her and said have a nice day. She said the office had told her this was a 2 hour job not 3 and that she had to account for hours and that she could stay for another hour if she wanted me to. It all got very confusing. I just said thanks and she left. Overall, bad customer service on multiple levels for ironing. I will not be using them again nor would I recommend them.

They have a team approach so they get everything done twice as fast. They are very professional.

The very first time the came they did a deep cleaning. I was fairly pleased with this service. Thereafter, I was not impressed with their work and I always had to go back over their work. The service is inconsistant. Sometimes things would be wiped down, sometimes they weren't. On one specific occasion I called to have them come back and they still did not do it right. The very last time I used their service I called ahead of time to again, emphazie that I wanted every floor washed. Specifically, there was a spot on the floor that sould have been wiped up at the prior cleaning and it wasn't, that's how I knew they weren't washing the floors. Needless to say, the spot was still there after they were done with their cleaning. After two cleaning sessions and the same spot was still on the floor, I discontinued service. The spot was from a spill and nothing major to clean. Had they washed the floors like I asked, it would have wiped up easily. If you are picky about certain things, I would not recommend this company. They NEVER used our vacuum. We specifically told them to use our vaccum which is designed for pet hair and they NEVER used it. They just Swiffered everything. Also, and probably the biggest problem with the company, THEY ARE IN A HURRY. On a few occasions, the girls even told my husband they had a certain amount of time to get things done so they could move on to the next house. That would explain why things weren't always done and why the service was inconsistant. The good points are they are extremely professional over the phone and on time.

They do a very good job. They are very professional. They had a good team. One reason I chose them was their work with cancer patients. They give a lot back to the community. I would recommend them for sure.

I have put them on hold temporarily as my husband is unwell. I will resume their services shortly as they are very good. I used to pay $80 to them. They are a regular housecleaning service. If I want something special done, they do the same. They do basic housecleaning service for me. They wash the floors and clean the tiles. They were consistent throughout the service. They did a good job consistently. I had the same two girls always. They provided very good service. My daughter-in-law had pneumonia last year and I had sent them to clean her house. They were very accommodating and nice. I would recommend them. They call and they do a good job consistently. They never call and cancel. If it is an internal issue, they take care of it. They never call in sick; they find alternatives. Their problems never become my problems. I don’t think they are overpriced. They are always on time. If they are delayed, they normally call. They come in when I am going to work. The girls that come out are Russian, but they do speak English. They are a little shy and quiet. When I call the office, they are very professional. I will use them again in the future.

They were very professional and they had literature with them - it was the whole package. They were perfectly fine - we just went with someone with a lower price. Their responsiveness was very good. We would consider getting a quote from them in the future.

Not so good. I did call the company back and complained that I should get half off the service since I was not a happy customer and they agreed to do that and I think that;s fair. Maybe it was just two bad cleaners? They also said they would come back and correct it but we had too many things all over the house as we moved in and that would not be possible. I think the company is good but maybe I just had bad luck?

Out of all of the cleaning services I have used, they are the best. They are very thorough.
