0 STARS! Dishonest company! I hired All Chicagoland Moving & Storage to move my items into storage and later to bring them to my new home. I used the same company to not have issues. Also the first trip and crew were a good experience. They damaged a few items in the move and scratched up my hardwood floors. When I paid them I was instructed to fill out the credit card info not realizing or being told I was also signed off the condition of my property. I immediately contacted the company president. He never responded to my email or phone call but had his assistant send me paperwork to fill out with no explanation in the email. I took photos of the damage which they never asked for although I offered multiple times. They mentioned I would get 30% per pound which is interesting that the resolve has nothing to do with the value of the items. She also mentioned I should send her photos of the hardwood floor. Later the GM responded saying that she determined the scratches on the floor were preexisting and provided a photo of my storage unit form the driver after it was partial emptied by them and said it was tampered with before they arrived. 100% false, I also have photos of how everything was stored and provided those to all three people mentioned. I was looking for a quick resolve but instead was mistreated by dishonest company practices.

A very bad experience with this company from pickup to delivery. Pickup date = 8/11/15 arrived late, bad attitude and handled items reckless until I complained to the driver. Items went into storage on day one of pickup - then told later the storage fee increased more than $70 month. Delivery date = 12/23/15, arrived late. After I paid the bill I was told later by the Truck driver that they were not obligated to assemble my furniture because of the wording in the contract (which was untrue), therefore they were just delivering everything and it was up to me to assemble my furniture. With no alternative I pleaded for them to assemble the furniture and agreed to pay extra for them to assemble my furniture. I wasn't able to contact the salesman Joe Illingworth or anyone in the office regarding the issue. I was hoping to resolve the issue without providing a rating however since the provider wasn't willing to discuss the issue I believe it's in the best interest of future carriers to beware of the type of service they may encounter and to be sure to brand their furniture especially if stored in the provider's facilities. Regards, Martha Sigh
Description of Work: The provider DID NOT hold up to the commitment of insuring my merchandise would be secured during storage and/or transition. In the midst of moving from one state to another and storing my articles in the provider's facilities my office chair was swapped out/switched out. My items were stored for up to 4 months therefore the switch could have happen in storage or in transition. However, the provider refused to acknowledge my complaint and compensate me for the difference. Even though I was able to provide pictures of my office chair at the pickup location and pictures of the chair delivered. I also purchased insurance so in my opinion one would think the provider would acknowledge the complaint and make an offer to settle the complaint.

July 2014 we had All Chicagoland Moving & Storage do a local move for us. The move cost nearly double the estimate. My ten-year old daughter had her savings and gift cards stolen. A few days after the move, my daughter left a message for the owner of the company, not to ask for her money back, but to let him know that his company might have some bad people working for him. The owner of the All Chicagoland Moving & Storage, Larry Ellingsworth, didn?t even have the class to call her back. Two months after our move I had to call to ask for my box deposit back from the company. This company is no good and I hope others will not put trust in them to do their move.

And this is why you should read Angies List before using a moving company; For some reason I equated "expensive" with quality and security. In a nut shell, the owner is completely disconnected to his employees. Does not honor what they promise. Regardless of what happens on a move, refuses to be accountable. - Paid deposit for boxes, returned boxes in excellent shape, "thank you" ... a month later, "here is your bill for the boxes" .. WHAT - Forgot to deliver all the items ... "we will redeliver the rest of the items, labor and deliver will cost ..." WHAT? you forgot a quarter of my stuff, I'm not paying for that?!? Lost items (like half a bunk bed, rendering the entire thing useless) "we'll take care of it" "our fault" ... a month later, how's the claim going? ... three months later, how's the claim going ... "we'll give you $200 bucks", I head to the BBB and I can promise you that I have had more than one hundred conversations with various people at this company? None of them have the same story. I'll come and get the rest of my stuff my self, no more using your guys, but I am not paying any more. "OK" Six months later "here's you $600 bill (no invoicing, no notice) you can't get your stuff until you pay" We paid and ran like crazy ... I just wanted to wash my hands of this company, lick my wounds, learn a lesson and thank god for social media to help me warn others.

Packers were thorough and good, but pricey. Moving day I was contracted to have a SEMI due to the size of the move. They showed up in a truck half the size. This meant TWO trips!! The movers claimed it would end up being "quicker!" HAH! What a scam. 14 hours later and they still left all of my planters in my old house! Since the move was completed after the business was closed I had no option but to pay for the extra hours of moving/travel made necessary by the small truck.

I could write a book about my experience, but I'll keep it simple. Don't hire this company. They use contracted employees who are lazy and bad at what they do. Their customer service is a joke. Management at this company does not care about their customers and they made that painfully clear to my wife and me. It blows my mind that a company run in this manner exists, but due to the nature of their business they get away with it. It's hard to put up much of a fight with a company that is capable of causing issues with buying/selling your home, or that is holding all your possessions in their storage facility. We settled with them using BBB.

We recently moved from Chicago to Pittsburgh. We feel like we paid a significant amount of money for professional service, but our experience was that we were not treated very well. (We had had a great experience with United Van Lines in 2005, and we expected the same level of service.) As a bit of background, our family moved from Chicago to Pittsburgh. We have a 16-month old daughter. In addition, my wife is recovering from knee surgery and is on crutches. Due to these circumstances, we wanted to work with a professional moving company to make our move easier for our family. We contacted the moving company in May to make sure to secure our preferred date. Our experience started off well. Darrell Roberts, the salesperson who first contacted us, was extremely helpful. We went through our belongings and told him about our off-site storage. He was very patient and took the time to go through the process and our estimate. We felt very comfortable working with him. We felt we had received a fair estimate and the right dates and times for our move, so we elected to go with your company. After that, we continued our planning with Michelle Zielinksi, who was also initially very helpful on matters such as securing parking for the moving truck in front of our building from the city. We were first concerned when we contacted Michelle a few days before our move. She seemed surprised to hear that we had off-site storage but indicated that the movers would be able to take care of it. In addition, she said they were bringing a shuttle truck instead of the semi as originally planned. We are not sure why the change was made, especially since street parking had been specifically reserved for a big truck. The shuttle truck couldn?t fit in the loading dock so it was essentially useless because the the movers were still forced to move our belongings down the stairs. We had actually requested in advance that it would not be used ? and they had ignored this requested ? because it meant that our belongings would have to be moved to the actual moving truck, increasing the risk of damage and loss, which we would experience later on. On the day of the move, the movers were on-time. However, the move took over 12 hours: 8 hours to pack our condo and another 4 hours to pack our storage space. We are not sure why because we lived in a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 800-sqft condo and had packed the all the boxes in our condo, except the fragile pack items for which we pre-paid and thus the company knew was required in advance. The 10?x10? storage unit had an elevator and a loading dock and consisted mostly of packed boxes and furniture. I was forced to miss additional work to continue with the additional moving process. Our contract provided for a 5-day delivery window starting 3 days after the pack date (total of 8 days) which we believed was already a very generous window. In a previous move in the reverse direction (Pittsburgh to Chicago), the window was only 3 days. Therefore, we felt that the ?slack? time was already built into the contract. Specifically, we were initially promised delivery sometime the week of August 9th but no later than Friday, August 13th. However, we received a call on Tuesday, August 10th that our belongings were being moved onto another truck and would not be delivered until the following week because one of the drivers had quit and could not be replaced. This meant that we were without our furniture or clothes for well over a week. First of all, we had already pushed up our move by one week to guarantee that our stuff would arrive prior to the start of school. Secondly, we had purposefully left Chicago immediately after the load-in so that we would be there in case our stuff arrived, even though we wanted to stay in Chicago to say goodbye to our friends. Instead, we were forced to live in a new city without furniture with a knee injury and an toddler. Michelle called us back on Wednesday, August 11th and told us our stuff would be delivered on Monday. However, on that Monday, we were told it was going to be delayed, this time until Wednesday. The driver called us to say that he couldn?t get his truck down the street. We asked several neighbors about large trucks getting onto the street, and they said that semis get onto the street all the time. However, our driver would not bring his truck onto our street. Therefore, he decided to transfer our belongings to a smaller truck but a company truck would not be available until Wednesday. Once again, this meant additional movement of our belongings and increased risk of damage and loss. After much back and forth, my wife had to suggest that they rent a truck. They reluctantly agreed. We had planned this move months in advance so that these types of issues should have been dealt with ahead of time. We later found out that another reason for the delay was that all of our belongings needed to be re-inventoried, as the original inventory from the load-in was incomplete and unclear. When we reviewed the original inventory, we found entries lists with only a letter such as ?C.? Here is another case where additional error was introduced, as we now no longer have an accurate inventory count. In fact, we are missing numerous glassware pieces that the packers were supposed to have packed as part of the fragile pack we paid for. Also, the initial inventory included 364 items, but the revised inventory only included 340 items. This concerned us a bit. Finally, they wrote up almost everything that was not ?packed by owner? as ?badly worn?, ?scratched?, ?gouged?, or ?chipped? even though it is not. Thankfully, most items made it to our new home in good condition, but clearly this notation was an attempt to falsify the condition to protect the mover from future damage claims. I only signed the documentation because a) I didn?t fully understand the confusing notation which was never explained to me, and b) it was almost 10pm, and we had endured 12 hours of packing. At the drop-off, we found many additional issues with our move. We also found that the one item we specifically requested to be packed in a mirror box, a commissioned piece of art which had cost over $1,000, had been thrown in the truck with no packing had, in fact, sustained damaged during transit. (This piece was also listed on our High Value item list.) In addition our baby?s changing table was damaged in two key support pieces, thereby rendering it useless. We also found other fragile items that were not packed as we had contracted. Finally, much of the furniture was not wrapped, which put these pieces at risk for additional damage. We specifically paid for 7 ?mirror pack? boxes, but only 5 were utilized. The packing crew didn?t even fulfill the minimum requirements of the contract, let alone try to protect all of our other items. In fact, in the event that additional items needed to be specially packed, they should have asked us for additional packing materials, and we would have gladly incurred the additional cost necessary to protect them. Next, even though the movers in Chicago had broken down our furniture (dining room table, 3 glass living room tables, baby crib, queen size bed) they were never marked as such on the inventory list, and, therefore, the delivery people wrote ?disassembled by owner? on the manifest. Due to this oversight, the movers in Pittsburgh tried to get out of putting the furniture back together. This was another case of poor documentation. We had absolutely no idea how to put the furniture back together and the box that was labeled with our coffee and end table hardware did not contain those items. These tables are now unusable, as they do not use standard hardware that can be purchased at a Home Depot or Ace. The drop-off crew was very good. They were efficient, friendly, and helpful. I was very happy to be working with them. However, when we started to report damage, the delivery lead said, ?I hope you are not reporting every thing, as it goes against my pay.? We were a little stunned by this remark, since we were told we should report everything we find, and this comment felt a little intimidating. I was upset that he said that, and his tone made my wife feel scared. As we began to review our items, we found that our belongings were not treated very well. Many boxes were crushed, our cradle mattress was ripped, and metal pieces were dented. We don?t know if this was a function of the constant moves or the overall care taken with our belongings. One of the reasons we decided to go with a moving company was to make the move easier, particularly with the challenges of moving with a knee injury and toddler. However, with the delays, damages, and lack of good service, this move became much more difficult and stressful than we wanted. We have not had a great start to living in our new home due to these issues. Each time we have contacted the movers, we are given a similar message: they are sorry, there is nothing they can do, and we should fill out the survey at the end. We have had to come up with solutions to the issues, as they seem unwilling or unable to come up with them. We often have had to wait over 24 hours waiting for a response as the company tried to determine the status of our belongings. Our other concern regarding this situation is that we scheduled this move months ahead of time so that these pitfalls could be avoided. However, we are consistently told that "these things happen during the busy season". The company has been completely in reactive mode from the start. While we understand that issues and delays can happen, we would have expected many of the issues we faced could have been avoided with proper planning on their part, and there is no excuse for improper handling of customer property!

United Van Lines Tariff delay claim provisions are $125/day per diem. The customer was entitled to, and received full delay claim compensation per contract. The customer did not elect, not pay for valuation over and above the basic liability provided at no charge. Any damage claims may only be settled at the option selected and/or paid for just like insurance. There is no compensation to customers for missed work on packing or moving day. All Chicagoland sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience the customer & his family experienced. He has been fully compensated for his delay and damage claim per contract through United Van Lines home office. Any further compensation requests would need to be directed to United Van Lines, not All Chicagoland. Deborah Roberts, General Manager.

Excellent...arrived when supposed to arrive. Packed everything for the move. Then loaded into storage containers. Stored six containers at their facility for five months. Actual move from the time I called them ti move the items from storage (containers) to Phoenix was 6 days. Driver & helpers were very professional and arrived exactly when they said they would, and cost was below what original estimate.

I am currently too upset with All Chicagoland (but mostly with the trucking company) to write this review. I'll post our experience in the near future. The company (All Chicagoland) has apologized and have been very nice since the experience, and I do truly believe they are sorry for our moving experience. We did receive a refund of $250 for the delay which we weren't as upset about. Nothing was damaged, the packers were great.

Overall, I would say it went 'okay.' I would use this company again as they had the best laid out plan and pricing came in close to what was quoted. The move was supposed to take two days and got pushed into three -- part of which was the fault of the management at the new location. The workers showed up the first day on time with a large crew and the size trucks that were expected. The second day they were a little late due to one of their workers being late. But, being our biggest moving day, they had brought 4 fewer men and downsized the trucks. They requested permission to finish the following morning and we would not be charged overtime so that they could get out at a decent time. We allowed it with the agreement that they would load up the remainder of items that evening on their way home and bring them directly to the new office the next day. The next morning while waiting at the new office they called to let us know they were at the old office and that they had not finished packing up the night before. This was not what was agreed to, and was very disappointing (considering the reason most of them wanted to leave early that evening was to go to a party). That move put us another 2 hours behind schedule. Overall, we would use them again as I have seen nightmare stories about what other movers have gone done, and experienced some of that myself. Nothing appears to be broken and they set up everything as we requested. Would recommend keeping on the crew to be sure that they keep to a schedule, regardless of their "personal plans." The sales rep was very thorough and there were truly no "surprises" that arose from any of the cost/moving issues.

Office staff and Sales rep were good. No surprises on the cost. The movers and driver left much to be desired. Easily avoidable damage done to property. Did not protect furniture as advertised with padding, etc. Did not protect property with advertised carpet and railing coverings. I had to beg them to to this and then they had to improvised because they had no supplies with them. Moving-out and moving-in days overly-chaotic and unorganized causing for very long days.

EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!! FROM THE SALESPERSON WHO GAVE US AN ALMOST EXACT ESTIMATE THROUGH MOVING DAY AND EVEN A FOLLOW UP CALL AND SURVEY AFTER THE MOVE. THE MOVERS TREATED OUR HOMES AND BELONGINGS AS THOUGH THEY WERE THEIR OWN THINGS. VERY NICE GUYS, VERY PROFESSIONAL HEAD MOVER. ONLY 2 GLASS ITEMS BROKEN DUE TO MY POOR PACKING. THE ESTIMATOR WAS RIGHT ON FOR THE PRICE. THERE WAS A REDUCTION BECAUSE I MOVED IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR. I WAS PROMISED THAT THEY WOULD COME A DAY AHEAD TO PACK PAINTINGS (SOME WERE VERY VALUABLE) BUT THEN LATER WAS TOLD THAT THE DRIVER WAS A CERTIFIED PACKER AND WOULD PACK THEM HIMSELF. (WRONG) THE CREW WRAPPED BURLAP AROUND THEM AND PUT THEM IN A BOX, AND I WAS NOT IMPRESSED. ONE OF THE CREW TOOK A LIGHT FROM A PAINTING AND SHOVED IT IN THE DRAWER OF MY DRESSER WITH SILK SCARVES IN IT. I HIGHLY ADVISE THAT YOU MAKE YOUR OWN LIST OF BOXES, BECAUSE ONE OF MINE WAS UNLOADED IN LAKE TAHOE AND IF I DIDN'T ASK FOR IT, I DON'T THINK I WOULD HAVE EVER GOTTEN IT BACK. THAT TOOK 3 MONTHS OF PRODDING TO GET DONE. ONE OF MY GLASS TABLE TOPS WAS BADLY CHIPPED. MY FILE CABINETS HAD BIG DENTS IN THEM. THERE WERE A FEW MARS ON A BOOK CASE AND DRESSER. THE GUYS WERE NICE, BUT I DON'T THINK THEIR STICKER SYSTEM WORKS THAT WELL. SOME OF THEM FELL OFF, SO WAS HAPPY I HAD MY OWN LIST. I ADVISE INSURAN
Description of Work: I MOVED FROM CHICAGO (A VICTORIAN HOUSE IN LAKEVIEW) TO OAKLAND CA. (A 2 BEDROOM APT, AND A STORAGE UNIT THERE). I DID THE PACKING, BUT THEY PACKED MIRRORS AND PAINTINGS AND GLASS TABLES. I FELT I REALLY HAD TO BE PUSHY TO GET THEM TO DROP OFF WARDROBES AHEAD OF TIME. I WANTED TO USE A CREDIT CARD, SO HAD TO DRIVE TO ELMHURST IN ORDER TO GET THEM TO SCAN CARD. THEY MOVED MY HOUSE FULL OF FURNITURE AND A LOT OF BOXES, A SECRETARY THAT I WAS VERY HAPPY WAS NOT DAMAGED. THE BOX THAT WAS DELIVERED TO WRONG HOUSE HAD AN INTACT STICKER ON IT, SO LET ME REITERATE, MAKE YOUR OWN LIST. AFTER THEY LEFT IN OAKLAND, I FOUND A WINE LABEL THAT HAD BEEN IN THE SECRETARY SITTING ON MY NEW DRIVEWAY. I FELT LIKE OPENING A GLASS MYSELF RIGHT ABOUT THEN. I DID THINK JOHN, THE DRIVER WAS NICE, AND THE PRICE SEEMED FAIR. I WAS ALMOST SUSPICIOUS CAUSE PRICE WAS EXACT I WAS NOT HAPPY THAT I WAS ONLY GIVEN $30 FOR THE TABLE TOP. IT WILL COST ME $157 TO REPLACE, I HAVE TO GET 2 BECAUSE IT WAS A MATCHED SET

THIS WAS A DISASTER. THEY TOOK OVER 5 HOURS LONGER TO LOAD AND UNLOAD. WE GOT THE ''ROOKIE'' MOVERS SO THEY WEREN'T STRONG OR EFFICIENT. THEY SHOWED UP AT THE NEW HOUSE TO UNLOAD 5 HOURS LATER THAN THE PROMISED TIME. THEY LEFT A BOX OF CLOTHES ON THE TRUCK, WHICH WE THEN SPENT 3 HOURS CHASING DOWN BEFORE THEY REALIZED IT HAD BEEN TAKEN SOMEWHERE ELSE. THERE WAS ALSO A FEW BROKEN ITEMS. DON'T EVER HIRE THIS COMPANY, IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
Description of Work: WE MOVED FROM A 3 BEDROOM HOUSE TO A 4 BEDROOM HOUSE IN THE SUBURBS.

THIS COMPANY IS GREAT! WITH ALL THE HORROR STORIES OUT THERE ABOUT MOVING COMPANIES, WE WERE RELIEVED THAT OUR MOVE WENT SO SMOOTHLY. THEY ARRIVED ON TIME, THE CREW WAS PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS, THEY WRAPPED ALL OUR FURNITURE IN PADDED BLANKETS, AND PROTECTED THE FLOORS AND WALLS AT BOTH ENDS. THE ENTIRE MOVE TOOK NINE HOURS, AND THE CREW REMAINED EFFICIENT AND FRIENDLY THROUGHOUT THE LONG DAY. NOTHING WAS DAMAGED, AND THEY DID EVERYTHING THAT WE ASKED. I HAD GOTTEN FOUR ESTIMATES, AND THIS COMPANY WAS THE MOST REASONABLE, AND CAME VERY CLOSE TO THE ESTIMATE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM, AND WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN.

THERE WERE A COUPLE OF THINGS. WE HAVE NOT MOVED IN OVER 33 YEARS AND I THINK THAT THIS MOVING COMPANY SHOULD SPREAD THE MOVE OUT (PACKING ONE DAY, MOVING A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER). I WORKED MY HANDS TO THE BONE TRYING TO GET EVERYTHING READY AND IT WASN'T READY. I FELT RUSHED. THEY WERE MOVING MY FURNITURE DOWNSTAIRS AND THERE WAS STILL STUFF IN THE DRAWERS. THEY WERE ANNOYED THAT EVERYTHING WASN'T PACKED YET. THEY DAMAGED SOME SILK TREES DURING THE MOVE AND I'M NOT SURE WHETHER I'D HIRE THEM AGAIN OR NOT. ONE OF THE MOVERS WAS KIND OF SNIPPY. I DID NOT TAKE OUT THE INSURANCE, BUT I HAD DAMAGE ON SOME STUFF AND THEY NEVER REPLIED TO ME. I WILL COMPLIMENT THE PACKER IN THAT HE WRAPPED MY GLASS TABLE VERY WELL, BUT NOT SO GOOD ON MY COLLECTOR DOLL. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY TO TAKE OUT THE INSURANCE, NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT COSTS.

THE ESTIMATE WAS PERFORMED IN AN EFFICIENT MANNER, WITH A PRINTED DETAILED ESTIMATE THE SAME DAY. UPON SELECTION OF THIS COMPANY FOR THE MOVE, I RECEIVED SEVERAL PHONE CALLS: LENNY, WHO MANAGES THE BOX DROP OFF AND HELPED ANSWER MY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BOXES. MARCIA, MY MOVE COORDINATOR, WHO CHECKED IN SEVERAL TIMES TO SEE HOW MY PACKING WAS GOING, AS WELL AS WHEN THE PACKERS ARRIVED AND FINISHED THE WORK. THE PACKERS WERE EXTREMELY EFFICIENT AND CAME IN UNDER THEIR ESTIMATE - COMPLETING TWO HOURS EARLIER THAN EXPECTED. THE MOVE DAY WENT VERY WELL - THE FIVE GENTLEMEN WERE GREAT! THEY FIRST PROTECTED THE HARDWOOD FLOORS AND CARPETING BEFORE MOVING OUR BOXES AND FURNITURE. DESPITE A VERY LONG DAY (AND AFTERNOON RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC), THEY STAYED IN GOOD SPIRITS UNTIL THE LAST MIRRORS WERE ATTACHED TO THE FURNITURE AND THE FURNITURE WAS WHERE WE WANTED IT. ALTHOUGH THEY WERE ULIMATELY $500 OVERESTIMATE, THE OVERALL WORK WAS EXCELLENT. WE WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.
Description of Work: WE MOVED FROM A THREE BEDROOM CONDO IN THE CITY TO A SINGLE FAMILY HOUSE IN THE WESTERN SUBURBS. THE COMPANY PACKED THE HOUSE FOR US AND DID THE MOVE.
