Mike is the grandson of the founder who started the business 70 years ago. I requested a quote knowing my system would need to be replaced as it was nearly 20 years old and not well maintained by a previous owner. Alan was one of 3 companies to bid the job, and the last to do so. At the end of Mike's assessment and quote I told him that his presentation was so thorough and precise that he had 100% earned my business and it was just a matter of picking which model condenser I wanted. After an inspection of my outdoor/indoor setup, mike proceeded to walk the entire house to inspect vent location and took a measurement in each room to calculate the precise square footage of my home. He sketched the floor plan on an ipad with measurements and detailed notes. It was very impressive. He then explained that split level homes are very difficult/impossible to evenly cool. But, being an Elmhurst company he deals with hundreds of split levels every year. He explained the key to cooling split levels is using a slightly smaller condenser (3 ton condenser instead of 3.5 in my case) to cause the system to run slightly longer which will push a larger volume of cooler air across all of the levels. As opposed to a smaller volume of colder air which a larger condenser would provide. The results are fantastic and my home is staying much more evenly cool. I could not recommend them more highly. Most contractors just want to quickly come out and replace your equipment with an updated equivalent. Alan HVAC took the time to ***** my home and my need and give me an informed recommendation.

Mike arrived on time. We have a 2 step ranch architecture and needed to replace our old and malfunctioning 20-30 year old HVAC system as well as improve the temperature balance throughout the house. Mike was argumentative with our request and very negative. We had other reputable HVAC companies provide calculations and estimates to replace our system and improve the household temperature balance, knowing that this architecture does not permit complete temperature balance. I would not associate with a company that has such a poor attitude from the start, I could only imagine what type of response we would receive when warranty service is needed.

It went very well. Both servicemen arrived on time each day (it was a two day process of removing the old furnace and condenser and installing new ones). Matt, one of the servicemen, was very good in explaining how the new system worked. He walked my wife and I how to set up the new thermostat. He answered every question I had and explained his answer that was clear to me.

Job was done on time in a most professional manner. Workmen were experienced, professional, courteous and a pleasure to deal with. Work was extremely well done and I am totally satisfied.

Technician Greg came during the appointment window. After he was done I had to request an update. He did not want to check the freon levels in the small 20+ year old central air system that is on our room addition. He simply said it was undersized and we need to set up another appointment with an estimator to consider a replacement system. I asked how many BTU is needed for the room in question and he said only the sales guy can provide that. I asked him why he checked the freon level in the main system but not the addition and he said it is old that is why it is not cooling well and to schedule the sales guy. I called 630.833.1100 around 8:10am the following morning, identified myself and explained that I am fine paying the bill but I was not happy with the lack of troubleshooting done on the 2nd room system and the older man that was taking the calls said "I already know that" and just hung up. I have used Alan Heating in the past and was very pleased with their work but yesterday I had a different tech and the individual answering the phone this morning was not helpful.

I 've used their services for about five years. They are a small company. They are reliable and come quickly. They also troubleshoot some issues over the phone, if possible.

They were always very punctual, they checked everything. I always feel I am in good hands.

They did a quality professional job. They left the premises in a clean condition and offered a reliable service.

It went very well. Alan Heating made the custom boxes to fit right up into the floor vents, came out and spent a couple of hours doing the installation. The work they did was great.

Today my air conditioning broke so I called them for service and they said they would put me on the waiting list. They called me while I was washing my hands so I let the phone ring, listened to their voicemail, then called them back immediately afterward (less than a minute after they called). They said that they had already moved on to the next customer and couldn't guarantee if they would be able to come out today. I am disappointed that they would give me such poor service after I've been a customer of theirs for so many years now.

My furnace exhaust fan went out on a Sunday. I called another "24/7" place that scheduled an appointment but never showed up. I called Alan Heating late Sunday to see if they could get a person out Monday as they are not 24/7. Someone picked up and said they could come out that night and at least take a look at it. The service person showed up when they said they would, diagnosed the issue and gave me a quote for repairs. The next day he arrived when he said he would, and replaced the part for less than the quote. None of this was a surprise to me as I have dealt with Alan Heating & AC over the past 10 years and they have always been efficient, professional and knowledgeable.

Alan Heating is very good - they have been servicing our units, for several years now - and they are certified Lennox provider. Very professional and do their work on time and quickly. I wish I had them install the furnaces but we will continue to use Alan for all our HVAC needs.

One of the installers was rude and intimidating. They failed to tell us we would need to cut away our viburnum so when they arrived one of the installers yelled at my wife and told her she needed to remove about 70% of this beautiful tree. When she expressed concern about cutting away so much.. He told her to get over it. If it it died too bad. The installer had back issues so he was unwilling to move the unit in from the other side because it would need to be lifted. We have always had good service and friendly installers, but this guy was terrible.

I called Mike to get a quote on a new air conditioner. Turns out I was outside his service area. But he still spent over a half an hour on the phone with me, giving me advice. He took all my information and recommended which Lennox unit would be the best for my house. He told me questions to ask my other potential vendors, what to avoid, and general advice. He also helped me understand differences in price quotes. He was more helpful than one of the other companies that came out to quote - knowing that he was not getting any revenue from me! Very professional and helpful. Highly recommended. If he was this helpful knowing he wasn't getting my business, imagine what great service he would provide when actually getting an order!

Air Conditioner is cooling the house now like it should. They came in... checked the furnace... replaced the filter... charged the compressor ... checked that the temp was 17 degrees cooler.

I called Alan Heating around noon and was told that I should receive a call back sometime that day. I had to leave for a committee meeting at 1 PM so I gave both my home and cell phone numbers. My son was at home. I got to my meeting and found that I had missed a call from my son. I called him back and he said, "The furnace man is on his way". I was only five minutes away, by the time I got back he had arrived and had diagnosed the problem. I was fortunate to have the owner of Alan Heating, Mr. MacNider, come and do the service call. He replaced the igniter and in fifteen minutes I was back at my committee meeting.

The technician (Greg) was very professional, completed the service in less than 1 hour, and had the A/C working perfectly. The total bill was about 1/4 of what the first company wanted to charge us. The furnace-A/C is about 16 years old, and will likely need to be replaced in 3-5 years (or less). i know who I will call when that time comes.

We had used Alan Heating 3 or 4 years ago to replace our heating system and were very happy with that installation and the subsequent performance of the system, so they were our first choice for replacing our air conditioner. Mike is very precise and took careful measurements of our home and checked out everything he needed to before making his recommendations. They carry Lennox and he discussed units at different price points but he did not push us to spend more than we wanted to. On the day of installation, the technicians were on time, they were very professional, worked quietly (or at least as quietly as you can when working with sheet metal),and did a fantastic cleanup job. I have to especially mention Bill (hope I'm remembering his name correctly), one of the installers. I have never met a service person who was so good at communicating what he was doing, why he was doing it, how the equipment operates, and what I should do to keep it operating.

Service completed on time and as described.

The people from Alan Heating AC Inc were fast and quick. The finished the work in the same day. They were efficient. Everything went good and was done very well.

Called first thing in the morning to make an appointment and was scheduled for the second appointment of the day. The office called me back approximately an hour before the technician arrived to let me know when to expect him. The technician arrived within the time indicated and remembered details from a previous visit several months ago. He quickly diagnosed the problem, told me that they had the replacement motor in stock, and then called the office to have it brought over. The motor arrived within a few minutes and was installed quickly. Before leaving, the technician let me know that I shouldn't worry if I smelled oil in the basement--the smell would last for only a couple of hours. Altogether, I'm very pleased with the responsiveness of the Alan Heating team and the quality of their service.

As usual Alan Heating did an outstanding job. I have used them for 24 years from furnace & hot water heater installation to routine maintenance and upkeep. They have been outstanding in every respect over the years. I highly recommend them for any related service or sales.

The technician was somewhat abrupt during the course of the visit. He could not assure me that replacing the ignition control board would solve the problem, and when I took ten seconds to think it over, he was impatient for an answer.

I have been using them for five or ten years now. I liked their promptness in returning calls, their promptness and courtesy in explaining things as what they are doing and the installation. They did a good job overall. It hasn't been too taxed as long as I have used them. I think it has worked pretty well for me.

The experience was really good. They did a really nice job.
