American Glass Top Co

We had purchased a nice dining room set for the first time & didn't want it to end up scarred & stained like our old, cheap set. We had seen a glass top on a relative's table & liked how it looked & the protection it provided. I did some checking around on Angie's List. American Glass Top had great reviews & a professional-looking web site. I emailed them for information, including the table dimensions, & they got back to me quickly with a quote. Not cheap, but it included a trip to us in Lombard to take measurements, & later, delivery. We decided to go for it. (I didn't contact any other places.) A rep came out, she even arrived a little early, took exact measurements, showed glass samples, explained everything, offered advice, & answered our questions thoroughly. She appeared to have plenty of time, no rush, & very knowledgeable & experienced. We made our choice & she said delivery would be in a couple of weeks. In less than two weeks, we got a call that it was ready. The delivery man arrived right on time, he cleaned the table, & then one side of the glass. He put six thin little circles on the table to hold the glass, then laid it on carefully, cleaned the top of the glass, & made several minute adjustments to make sure it was exactly aligned with the table edges. He offered a couple of times to adjust it some more till I was definitely satisfied. The glass is perfect. We are very happy with it, & also with the service that American Glass Top provided.

An excellent experience. An appointment was made to measure all pieces and the guys were right on time. They did an accurate job creating the templates for a rather large and unusually shaped desk top (for a home). They were very neat, polite and friendly. They provided a written detailed quote and I accepted it on the spot. They provided an estimated date for when the materials would be ready. I received a courteous call to schedule an installation when the materials were ready. The installers arrived on time, the glass panels (rather large) were very securely wrapped and were delivered with absolutely no defects. The guys were very good about prepping the wood surfaces properly (getting furniture polish off the wood surfaces so that it wouldn't "haze" later), cleaning both sides of the glass, and arranging it perfectly on all surfaces. Since this was a higher-end office set, we were concerned about not only protecting the tops but having it look good. They recommended a tinted glass and they were absolutely right. The look (and effect) are very striking. I would use this company again and recommend them with absolutely no hesitation. Well done!

Everyone I encountered from American Glass on the phone or in person was polite, helpful, friendly and professional. They arrived on time for appointments even when the weather was vile. I didn't shop around, so I don't know how their prices compare, but I was very pleased with the whole experience.
