I was very pleased with Tom's Plumbing ! When I called, I spoke to the receptionist on the first call. An appointment was set up for that same day. Communication between me and the repairman was excellent. Alan arrived on time, and worked with me to fix the broken spout in a way that was easy and quick !

We have used Tom’s Plumbing for over 18 years and have never been disappointed. We live in a 105 year old house, which has older plumbing and fixtures. Tom’s Plumbing has a very good understanding of how old houses work. On this instance, we called in the morning and spoke to Tammy (owner) who took the call and immediately scheduled an appointment the same day (afternoon) at a convenient time for me. Alan called me 45 minutes prior to arriving as I had requested so that I could drive the 45 minutes home from work to be there when he arrived. He arrived on time. Took about an hour to complete the work. All throughout the process he was very courteous, careful not to mess up or damage any appliances in the basement and explained what he was doing as the completed the work. His years of experience showed in the high quality and efficiency of his work. On completion of the work, he took the time to explain the items charged on the invoice. We highly recommend this local family-run Elgin business for your plumbing needs.

I've had a number of plumbing and plumbing problems since I've moved into my new place... Tom's plumbing was top notch, responsive, knew what they were doing and stood behind their work. I bring them up whenever I can, and I highly recommend them. In fact I can not recommend them enough. I had them come in an do a bunch of minor work and then when I had a major issue a month later that required a pipe under my concrete basement floor be dug up it seemed like a no brainer to call them back. They were fast efficient and upfront with cost the whole way through. They were also flexible with payment.

Tom’s did a great job. Arrived early, worked neatly and efficiently. Price was fair for time spent. Also took time to make additional estimates I requested and researched questions on the spot.

Loved working with this company! Alan was so honest with us. We thought we needed a pipe replaced, but in actuality did not. Alan quickly found our problem and gave us a solution. He was also very thorough. Would definitely call them again!

I called Tammie 9:50 AM 3/2/18 and she advised that plumber Mike can stop by same morning to fix it and he did. He was on time, professional and fixed the problem right away. Because of the remodeling being done, Alan had to come 4 different times. He was very professional and did a great job on all the work that needed.

As well as could be expected. Never felt like they were trying to pull one over or anything like that.; very straight forward, straight to work guys. After dealing with another plumber or two I would highly recommend Tom's plumbing. If anything comes up again in my home that is plumbing related I will definitely call them first without hesitation.

After calling a plumber recommended by a neighbor and not responding after a week and a half, I went to Angies List which I should have done in the first place. I wanted a local plumber. Mike showed up the next day, assessed the repair, and provided a quote. He recommended having the city come out to turn the key on the main shutoff outside as it apparently hadn't been shut off in over ten years. A good call as public works couldn't get the key to turn. The bad news is that the city had to tear out part of the walk and dig to replace the key. The good news is I left word over the weekend with Tom's Plumbing letting them know the work was done, received a call Sunday evening to schedule, and the work was performed on Monday. It took a little over an hour to complete a job that looks great.

After reading their good reviews on Angie's Lists, I called the company and was able to set up an appointment with Tammie right away. The plumber (Mr. Al) came on time. He was professional, polite and did a great job. The job was finished within the hour. I was able to use their $10 coupon. Thank you very much for excellent service and your help. Job well done!!!

Tom's guys were punctual and professional. They asked a lot of questions and acted. Arefully to access the main with a large rodder. Tidy and respectful. Turned out to be a larger problem under the lawn!

Plumber was on time and was very professional, explained the problem with the old faucet. Gave us an option of rebuilding the old unit or replacing with a new faucet. We choose the new faucet even though it was a little pricier then we expected. We will use again if we need more work done.

Plumber came in with a smile, was professional, engaged in some fun banter and did the job in under an hour and was 1/3 the cost of ABC Plumbing with their fancy uniforms, two plumbers and matching green booties over their shoes; a bit too much. Price $375. Ridiculous.

The plumber didn't have the correct handle with him but hunted one down and installed it within the week.

Great. Very professional. I gave him the background - which lines had been routed and when, and described the issue. He worked on it, installed an access port (don't know the real name, but a little access mechanism in the drain for the future. He researched the options - whether to replace the cracked floating-ball mechanism with a newer design, or find a ball in inventory. The communication was great, we had easy agreement and he left my drain way better than it was before. I really liked his extra effort to find a ball mechanism - he came back the next day to install, and that worked great for me. I have since passed his name onto my co-workers when they need plumbers. I don't remember the cost offhand, but it was affordable, and true labor and parts, nothing gimicky, no pressure to put in solutions that weren't appropriate.

The owner showed up early and was professional. He didn't mind putting on booties to prevent dirt from tracking through the house.As fas as the toilet,he replaced the rubber O ring under the flapper in about 10-15 mins and problem solved. Also,he explained the services performed and broke down the cost of parts and labor. I'd recommend this company!

For the first job, the plumber (Alan) was very courteous, friendly and informative. He explained and fixed the problems I called him out for and did so in a timely manner. They needed to order a part. It arrived in an acceptable time frame and they came back to install it promptly once it came in. I learned that our laundry drain had likely been added by the previous home owner and was probably not vented properly. Tom was able to provide a temporary fix. The next time I called for service, it was on a weekend when our sump pump went out. They advertise emergency 24 hour plumbing service, but after leaving a message early Saturday morning, they did not call back until the next day. They were apologetic about not responding saying they were out of town. This appears to be a small company. We ended up replacing our sump pump ourselves by the time they called back. I would still consider hiring this company to do the laundry drain repair once we are in a position to fix it permanently (when we are ready to remodel the bathroom adjacent to this wall). However, I wouldn't count on them for emergency repairs due to their slow response to my call.
