All Suburban Emergency Plumbing

My pilot light on the water heater would not stay lit. It was a Rheem from Home Depot. Called this company Sunday morning and spoke with George over the phone. He explained they did not service Rheem, but that he knew what was wrong and could fix it. He said it needed a new control panel, and that even if the issue was the thermal coupler or ignighter, the new control panel included everything needed to fix it. He quoted $495. He tried to talk me into a new one for $1800, but I explained it was out of my budget. He then showed up Monday morning with a younger gentleman and went to work removing the control panel. He was rude the entire time and kept trying to talk me into a brand new water heater which over the phone he said would be $1800 and in person he quoted me $1435. I explained that financially I could only cover the repair at the moment. He was completely disrespectful and rude, and then disclosed that he did not have the part. He said he was going to go out to his vehicle to shop around and locate the part. He said it could be several days though if they had to order it. He took the part from my water heater with him out to his vehicle. Couple minutes later he left. I called him and asked him to return and just put everything back together. He did so, but was very rude and demanded $90 for a service call. I explained he did not do what he said he was going to do and I was not paying for it. I had to ask him three times to leave my house. I will never use this plumber ever again. He seems to be suffering from dementia, and is very combative.

I was expecting a more permanent type repair for the money paid, but all they did was cut out the tees and replace them using rubber couplers, which I could have easily done myself. I argued a bit, but they said it met code. They were also supposed to correct the sagging main horizontal run, but that was not done. Removed material was not cleaned up - had to do it myself. Pretty shocked at what I had to pay for a couple hours work.

The plumbers were fine but the woman who answers the phone is very rude and this time was down right confrontational! I have used this plumbing service for several years with no real problems although the woman who answers the phone and schedules has always been difficult. I had the plumbers out for power rodding due to drain back up but less than a week later the drains were backing up again. I had to call and have them come out again, when I called this woman, who also identified herself as the owners wife, was belligerent and extremely rude. She actually confronted me, telling me I had an attitude. This is not the first time I have had issues with her because if her I would not recommend using this business and definitely will not be contacting them again.

I had to have sewer rodding, I’ve used this company for the last few years without any problem, they came out about two weeks ago and rodded the drain and a week later it was backing up again. I called to have them return and was unable to reach anyone for over 24 hours. The most unpleasant part of the experience was dealing with the women who answers the phone. She is rude and unhelpful and downright nasty, this last time was the worst, I will not be using this company any longer, very unprofessional!

Sunday morning we called and left a voice message, which was returned within about ten minutes. We described the problem, and Marty said he could do the job and could arrive in about 45 minutes. He gave what sounded like a reasonable price range. We asked him to come do the job, and he arrived within about a half-hour. He was prompt, effective, courteous, and professional. He answered questions, got the job done in under an hour, and cleaned up meticulously. A+ service at a reasonable price. Highly recommended. Thanks, Marty.

I called All Suburban at around 10AM and asked if they had same day availability. They said they did but wouldn't know a time just yet but would call when they had a crew. At 12:30 I received a call that a crew was on the way and 5 minutes later the crew (Mike & Mike) called and I gave them directions. Mike and Mike were very polite and professional. I had originally only needed the faucet replaced, but when I asked if they had time to rot a few sinks, they said sure and got right to work. They charged me the price quoted by the receptionist for the faucet and a reasonable price for the sink work. My experience was 100% positive all the around. I will not hesitate to call them in the future.

The experience we got was extremely rude and unprofessional. They would never get our business in the future. They might do great work but phone manners is something that should matter.

Never got passed the greeting, paid $600 to someone else with common courtesy.

All Suburban Emergency Plumbers have been my go-to company for years! Always friendly, always able to fix whatever has gone wrong with the plumbing! Very quick to respond and thorough. I had a sump pump motor freeze and burn out which caused some minor water to build up in the crawl space. They arrived within a couple hours of my call, replaced the pump and helped clean up. All of the various employees that I have met over the years have been polite, helpful and professional.

Have used their services in past and present and always pleased with results. Their prices seem high but all plumbers are high. I would rather pay for quality workmanship.

Found company on Angie list. George was local and had excellent reviews. George was able to answer questions and provide great guidance over the phone on options. Order was placed and work appointment scheduled. Came in at best price and quickest appointment. George's 2 employees, Mike and Mike, arrived promptly on scheduled morning and professionally and courteously completed the 2 toilet installs and sump pump install in an hour and a half. Having a flow problem with a newly installed kitchen sink faucet as part of an Angies List arranged kitchen remodel the year before, Mike was able to quickly find and clear the clogged diverter. Excellent plumbing service! I would highly recommend them for either emergency or routine plumbing needs in the Chicago area. As always, I only contract with services after consulting Angies List. The best investment that I ever made!

They were timely. They worked through until they got the job done. They were very good.

George was right on top of it from the beginning, When doing an installation of new toilets for me a few days earlier, which George and his crew did expertly, efficiently, and at a fair price, I asked him to check out my battery backup sump pump and give me a quote for service, if it needed it. I didn't trust my old battery backup sump pump, and thought it wasn't working properly. George accurately and honestly told me that it was working, but explained that it was a low end model, and old, and explained how new models that they install are better. I opted to get a new model installed as he recommended, as I wanted to have peace of mind. He and his crew came out in a few days to install it, and noticed that my primary pump was looking pretty bad, so I asked them to replace that also. The new primary pump is also quieter than my older unit, which is a bonus that I appreciate. They also cleaned out my sump, which was filled with quite a bit of debris, and split my sump cover so that I could more easily access the sump for servicing the pump units. They were skilled, efficient, courteous, helpful, and informative. I learned a lot from watching them work and talking with them about what they were doing. George also courteously answered some other miscellaneous questions and helped me with some other miscellaneous issues I had about the plumbing systems in my home. I felt their price was fair for the work they did and the pump units they installed, and that they went above and beyond the call of duty. I have much more confidence in my sump pumps now, and am more knowledgeable about my home's plumbing. I cannot praise George and his crew enough. Best plumbers I have ever had do work for me. I would heartily recommend them.

The sewer had backed up through the floor drain in the basement and we needed someone quickly. I called a couple places and All Suburban Emergency Plumbing was booked, but they said they'd try and fit us in. They sure enough called back and said they had an opening. They showed up, and since we don't have an accessible cleanout, had to rod the main line through a toilet fixture in the basement. Everything went well, they tried to keep everything as clean as possible. Friendly team, worked quickly and did their best to keep everything clean. Definitely would use again.

He was responsive to my emergency and got the work done quickly but in hindsight, I think I paid a lot for a builder grade heater. I was eager to get the work done and stop the flooding so I should have asked more questions about the quality options of the unit. Still, he was pleasant to work with and I'd call him again.

Although the service didn't resolve the problem completely, All-Suburban made us aware from the start that that might be the outcome. The work they actually did prevented a sewer backup and temporarily solved the issue until the other provider was able to make the service call two days later. This was a Saturday service call, and they didn't charge us extra for emergency service.

All Suburban has helped us out on a couple of different occasions. they are always prompt, reliable and reasonable. They go above and beyond to explain all that needs to be completed and then gave further advice on how to avoid the problem in the future. I highly recommend!

George and his team were here on time: I had requested a morning appointment and they were here promptly at 8:30. They were very pleasant and professional - got the work done, cleaned up the area and took the old pump and valves for disposal. The pump installed was a Champion Sump pump with a 3 year guarantee. I'm honestly not sure how they stack up price-wise since I did not shop around, but they offer excellent service and the price was not outrageous. They have done other work for me in the past and I would definitely call them again.

This was a difficult review to decide. Normally I would give a D for not replying to Angie's List messages and for making me go to their web site to get email address. However they claim they never received the Angie's List messages so I have to make some consideration. I elected B since (a) they responded rapidly to email contact but (b) weren't watching Angie's List closely enough to see messages were missing. If I had proof this was all Angie's List fault I would change this to an A rating. If I had proof the error was Provider's fault, then I would change it to a D rating. Not sure if this review helps anyone; just trying to do my duty to report what has happened.

George has been taking care of our plumbing needs for over 15 years. They've replaced hot water heaters, rodded out drains, installed new plumbing in remodeled kitchen, fixed leaky toilets and faucets.

There was a huge hole in the sewer pipe that had rotted out over time. They did an excellent job with the demolition, replacing the old pipe with a new PVC pipe, and repairing the cement slab back to it's original state. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up and taking care while moving equipment around our house. George thoroughly explained what needed to be done prior to starting the job so we knew what they would be doing to find and correct the problem. This was after many attempts to rod out the line and put cameras down the drains to try and find the problem. My wife and I were very pleased with their workmanship and their professionalism. I would use them again without hesitation and recommend them 100%.

With in 20 minutes he had figured out where the leak was. It turned out to be the grout and tile needed to be redone. The Suburban guy saved me a ton of money and he was only here for 20 minutes. I would hire him and keep him at my house if I could. He is the kind of guy that would want to be there for you. George is awesome. He was concerned about not ripping me off.

A couple days after moving into our new home, the sewer backed up in the basement a couple of inches. We called All Suburban Emergency Plumbing & Sewer and they were out the very next day. Their service tech was very prompt, courteous, and professional. They sent their camera through our sewage pipe and found the blocakage.They had to rod out the pipe about 110', through our second floor toilet, since there was no clean-out outside. A few hours later, they were finished and the backed up sewer finally drained!

I had a problem with the overall house drainage. Toilets gurgling and sinks making bad sounds. I call All Suburban and got a very helpful, pleasant and professional woman who took information and told me exactly when I could expect help. She said they would call when leaving for the house. To my amazement, they called, were on time and knew what they were doing. They told me exactly how much it would be to fix the problem. Awesome! they cleared the blockage and had me up and running (bad pun!) within an hour. Even got along with my very excitable and protective miniature schnauzers! I will use them to do other plumbing services - absolutely. They are from now on my go-to plumbing guys!
