We had stripped old wallpaper out of a 10x12 bedroom that left the walls in bad shape. Tom did an excellent job repairing and skim-coating the entire room to prep it for painting. The walls, after painting, looked like new drywall, a testament to the work TAK performed. He did a few small repairs on a few other walls outside of the project as well. Would highly recommend.

We could not be more pleased with the total service we received from TAK Drywall. Tom Rothengass, the owner came out very promptly for the initial estimate. He was very thorough and professional. We discussed what was to be done and how we were hoping to save the trim in each of the rooms being worked on. The very next day we received via email a detailed quote for the work to be performed. His quote was in the range we were looking for and so we agreed to have TAK do the work. I cannot tell you how pleased we were that we went with drywall specialists rather than a handyman at this point. The first day Johnny and Larry came and completely covered our hard wood floors and then removed the paneling. Next they worked on the removal of the brick wall which also had mirrors grouted to them. The next day they came back and put up the new drywall. They said they would arrive early and were there as expected. The following days, Jeff and TJ came and taped and mudded the new drywall. they came back each day (again on time) and sanded and reapplied the finish. Throughout all this, they kept the dust down as much as humanly possible by vacuuming as they went along. After that Johnny came back and reinstalled the trim and well as vacuumed again. My husband and I felt that these were professionals who cared about their work and our home as though it was theirs. today, when our painter and his crew arrived, they also commented on the quality of the work that TAK did. I think it speaks volumes when one professional praises another.

Tom returned my call promptly and arrived at the scheduled time for reviewing the required work. He sent me a quote that evening. He understood my needs and had a good plan to complete the repairs.

Tom came out to llok at the ceiling to provide a quote. I misunderstood the meting time so was not at the condo when he arrived. He was very patient and understanding when I explained the mixup. When he took a look at the ceiling, he pointed out some other areas that were showng the panel edges we hadn't noticed. He pointed out that fixing it would affect the other rooms because of the layout. He gave some recommendations of what could be done but didn't think it was serious. He definitely helped addressed my concerns. He was very polite and professional. I probably won't do anything with my ceiling but if something comes up, I will definitely call Tom again.

We have a 40 year old home that has vaulted ceilings in the living room and adjoining dining room. About 20 years ago we started having cracks in the ceiling drywall in our living room. I had repaired these cracks myself about 4 times; and also had our painters repair them twice. The drywall cracks continued in both our living and dining room. I figured that it was time to get some professional help for repairing these cracks. We received quotes from four different sources. Two of them quoted for re-screwing our existing ceiling drywall, and two of them quoted removing the old ceiling drywall and replacing it with new. I had never heard or known of anyone that had needed to have their ceiling drywall replaced. I was a bit skeptical, but we were simply tired of dealing with this problem. Out of the four quotes that we received; T.A.K. was the only company that actually provided a professional written quote. I didn't feel comfortable with the other three companies. Their quotes were priced less than T.A.K. But After talking with Tom at T.A.K., evaluating his quote, and reading Angie’s List reviews we decided to have T.A.K. do the work. We were under a rather tight schedule as we had a trip planned and T.A.K. had to fit the repairs into that time frame. T.A.K supplied the dumpster for removal of the old drywall. T.A.K. blocked off all of the adjoining rooms to prevent dust from entering the rest of the house. T.A.K. had a crew of 2 men that arrived EXACTLY as scheduled. After they removed the ceiling fan in the living room and the chandelier in the dining, they punched the first hole in the living room ceiling drywall and found that the drywall had separated from the rafters by a good 6 inches. One of the crew pulled on the living room ceiling drywall and the ENTIRE living room ceiling collapsed. They then did the same thing to the dining room ceiling and with one hand pulling on the drywall, this ENTIRE ceiling collapsed also. Tom and the T.A.K. crew said they had never seen anything like this before. The insulation that was in the ceiling of both rooms had originally been blown in when the house was new. T.A.K. (at my request) had R&R Insulation install upgraded batting material insulation in the living room and dining room. At my request we also upgraded the insulation in the top floor of the house to E 57 Rating. This was an additional cost added to the original quote (my choice.). The two man drywall installation crew came in (on time as scheduled), and then a crew for taping and finishing. All their work was excellent. T.A.K had Corey from Foursquare, Inc. come in to do the final priming and painting. He also did an excellent job. All of the people and operations connected with this project did a suburb job. They were friendly, efficient, showed pride and professionalism in their work and completed the project in a timely manner. It is extremely impressive to deal with a company that does exactly what they say will. T.A.K did exactly that. Sometimes it is worth paying a bit extra for quality. I have to comment that about $2000.00 of our final cost was do to the additional insulation and painting performed at our request and during some of our hotter days so far this summer, I will have to say that the upgraded insulation was well worth the investment.

They were terrific. Quickly gave a reasonable quote and arrived promptly to complete work. Gave me some good suggestions and then made it all happen in a few days. They made the process easy and I was a bit frazzled from the issues the small flooding caused. It looks like a new space and has increased the overall value of the home. Thanks

Good job, quality work, skilled personable workmen. Soffit was hanging low and they built a framework to hold their drywall. Tom was responsive and quoted the job promptly. John built the frame and hung the drywall quickly. TJ made it all look good. Laid down tarps, hung plastic to protect my house and cleaned up when done. Reliable group.

Tom Rothengas and his team ( carpenter drywaller/taper, and painter ), are professional, honest, punctual, polite, efficient, fast, and take pride in expert workmanship. Tom was very caring after he saw what I'd been through in the last four months, understood my desire to complete the work as soon as possible,and personally saw to it that my situation was taken care of immediately. Within one week, everything was completed to my satisfaction, and Tom personally came back to inspect the work and to make sure I was happy with the job. The drywall was a mess. The wallpaper was very hard to take off and my sons, when they were young, put large scratches and dents in the wall while playing. Tom came in and gave us a very fair quote and Jeff did the work. Tom even came over to inspect the work afterwards. Both of them were very friendly and professional and the quote and work were done a very timely manner. They were both fantastic!

My wife and I greatly appreciated Tom's honesty and professionalism. We would definitely recommend him for drywall services. We will contact him for future projects.

old drywall replaced along with insulation. Unfortunately, I think some mold still is still inside. Tom did an excellent job as if it was his own home!

Thank heavens we had Tom and his men working on our project. They installed an excellent quality drywall product which involved some difficult fitting around existing fireplace stone. Tom takes great pride in his work--and came back three times for additional sanding and finishing work. Upon completion--he asks you to reveiw his work and tell him if you are satisfied. There is no dust and no mess. Without reservation, we would hire them again--and plan to do so when we do another extensive remodeling project later this year.

Tom, the company president, came to our home for the inspection. He was polite, professional and thorough. He emailed our estimate as promised. It was important that the work be completed before Christmas and Tom assured us it would be. The crew was punctual and work was completed on time as promised. Tom visited the work site on a couple of occasions to check on the progress and answer any questions or concerns we may have. We were very pleased with the end result and will not hesitate to hire T.A.K. in the future. Every aspect of the job exceeded our expectations.

Tom came by within minutes of me calling to request a quote. He was friendly and professional. I received the quote either that same day or the day after he reviewed the scope of work. After a couple of exchanged emails, I decided to go with TAK and we set the date. Tom, TJ and Jeff arrived on the date at the time they said they would. Tom went over the work with his guys and left. The entire job took four short mornings but I was impressed that Jeff showed up almost exactly when he said he would every morning. Him and TJ did a great job, Jeff cleaned up very well after the work was completed and everything is ready to be painted. My wife and I are very happy with the work completed by TAK and would definitely use them again for drywall work in the future.

It went great! Tom was very informative and very helpful and had a bunch of ideas I never would habe thought of. I was sure we were stuck having to gut the place after the last tenants trashed it. Not so!

Tom was great, needed to do the work in 3 trips which he told me up front, every day he showed up on time and took as long as he said it would. Kudo's to him for touching up/repairing some other spots that were not part of the leak. He is a true tradesman, if you were to come over and look at the ceiling, I bet you a $1000 you could not tell what or where the ceiling was repaired. I hope I never have another roof leak but if I need drywall repaired, I am calling Tom at TAK. I highly recommend him as he is a professional and does outstanding work.

I haven't seen the actual repair and I didn't get price quotes from other places so I cannot rate Price, Punctionality, and Quality. However; Tom was very professional and my tenants seem happy. He kept me in the loop thorughout the process and also added insulation (I didn't realize insulation was there previously, I only called asking for drywall...so Tom let me know and asked if I wanted both done). Since I'm remote, Tom coordinated service with my tenants directly- then phoned me with estimate and waited for the ok to proceed. He then mailed me a bill so I can mail in my payment.

From a commercial standpoint, Tom was very responsive and professional to our calls and requests as well as very understanding to our needs to continue using the kitchen during the work. From a job standpoint, cleanliness of work was great as dust/debris was unnoticeable which was a significant plus. We were very pleased with the workmanship outcome as the celing looks brand new as if it were never repaired . Tom is definitely is a master of the plaster.

I never knew it was possible to custom curve drywall. Tom, John and Larry are amazing. Stunning work and they left the space cleaner than before they started.
