This was a project that should have been done a long time ago, but due to my husband's illness it was constantly being put aside. When I finally decided to have this fixed I was in a quandry about finding a reputable and competent group. Angie's List was a real life saver for me. When I pulled up T.A.K. Drywall Specialists from the list I was very hopeful that I had found the right company. When Tom walked through my front door, just by his demeanor I instantly knew that this would be the right choice. He knew immediately what needed to be done, how he would do this, and told me he would send me a quote. In addition, he was polite, friendly, and business directed. A few weeks later, the job was started with John taping all entrances to my kitchen, covering all appliances and cabinets and even putting down floor coverings not only in the kitchen areas but running all the way to my front door. I couldn't believe it! The first day was the demo day and installation of the new drywall in the kitchenette and kitchen area. John and Tom worked efficiently and carefully, taking time to remove the damaged materials. The next four days, TJ worked to tape, "mud" and sand all the replaced sections and the new ceiling. On the following Tuesday, Corey came out to paint everything, ceilings and walls. When it was over and done with it I am totally thrilled with how beautiful my kitchen and kitchenette now look. TAK did an A+ job from start to finish. It took a few days to schedule an appointment, as Tom seemed extremely busy. However, once I did, he was on-time and very helpful going through my vision, and providing recommendations. Tom was extremely accommodating trying to move things around for my install date, as I was trying to coordinate another contractor that was doing my insulation. Tom also connected me with some other contractors to get help with some issues related to venting and electrical in the space. Although Tom was very clear his focus was drywall and framing only, his connections were extremely beneficial for me, and saved me a ton of research and coordination time. Once the job was scheduled, I received a text and a call the day before from Tom confirming the work plan for the next day, and each day thereafter. The whole job took several days. His crew were on-time each day and extremely detail-oriented. They used as few drywall cuts as possible, and were meticulous about taping and covering screw holes. Painting and clean-up were also excellent. I will definitely hire TAK again for future projects.

Our master bath has an angular, vaulted ceiling that had developed lengthy, highly visible cracking due to house settling. It was unsightly to anyone who entered the room. This was the reason I contacted a drywall specialist. Tom promptly returned my request for an estimate and came out to look over the problem, discuss the scope of the project, make recommendations and answer any of my questions.He told me that he could have his painting crew do the painting after the drywall crew was finished. Tom promptly sent a detailed proposal itemizing the scope of the project,separating the drywall and the painting jobs. He suggested time frames for the work and dates that it could be scheduled. The total project took 7 days. He visited his crews and communicated with my husband and I on the progress and issues along the way. Drywalling is a messy business (there will be some dust), but it was as painless and inconvenient as it could be,because Tom and his crews took care when preparing their work areas (we had new upstairs carpeting and hardwood floors in the foyer and kitchen) and were respectful of our home, my husband, the dog and I. They were always prompt, hard working and very careful, professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. This was a blessing, because we were living in the house while they were doing work on two levels. The week was inconvenient, but the results were worth it. It is a pleasure to walk into the rooms that had any drywalling issues, especially our master bath. Thanks for the beautiful job, Tom and crews. We definitely would call TAK in the future if we need other drywall work done.

Mr. Rothengass came in and did created a beautifully seamless wall. He was on time, he was professional and it was a pleasure to have him work in my home. The job required taking out an old wall unit air conditioner, filling the space with insulation and then placing and finishing the drywall to match the wall space exactly to conform with the wall. It looks fantastic and I am very happy to have hired Mr. Rothengass for the job.

TAK's team was professional and experts in their field. Have used them in the past for dry wall and other projects; will use them again for future dry wall and other projects. They even took extra precautions not to upset tenant's pet bird! TAK performs top quality work, not your quick and cheap Craig's List type of company. Highly recommend this company.

Mr. Tom Rothengass responded to my initial request very quickly and got me into his schedule quickly. The job took a couple of hours per day for three consecutive days. Tom and his staff were very nice and they did a great job. The ceiling looks beautiful and there was no mess.

This company is absolutely fantastic, I would never, ever contact anyone else for future work. When I called for an estimate Tom came out the next day and sent us a written quote by email two days later. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with the affordable price. TAK's crews were extremely good. We had three rooms with drywall issues and the results were unbelievable. The finished job was flawless. The drywall crew, Jeff and TJ along with the owner, Tom worked efficiently and the repair work was completed AHEAD of schedule and the painting crew of Cory, Frank and Mike arrived the day the repair work was done and painted the walls and ceilings of the three rooms with precision and efficiency. The entire job was completed in five business days which was three days ahead of scheduled completion. The guys were friendly, did a great job and cleaned up each day. They got to work each day without delay. This is a fair, honest and hard working group of guys who go the extra mile to make sure of satisfaction. I will definitely go to them for any future work, in fact we asked for a bid to paint the siding on our home for this spring. You will not go wrong hiring them!!

They were extremely thorough and extremely neat. They did exactly what they said and were very knowledgeable. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Tom did a great job on all repairs, from replacing a chunk of bad drywall, to repairing bad original finish work on corners and seams, as well as repairing torn drywall where a large mirror was removed. Additionally, when we thought all was complete, I noticed a small part of the job that had been missed. Tom very good naturedly came back to finish it up. We had discussed it at the estimate a couple weeks earlier, but possibly not specifically mentioned when he came back to do the work? Is was a little thing that was literally behind him while he was working in that room, so easily forgotten. I forgot myself, but it was at just the right angle to see it as I was showing him out! I felt awful having him come back. UPDATE 9/8/14 - Originally gave a B on price because he had quoted higher than some others, but I hired him based on personal recommendations and scheduling. Changed my mind, now an A. Now that the repairs have been painted over, I can see the truly fine work that he does. The way the paint looks so flawless over what were such truly awful spots makes it worth every single penny. I will never question it again. You get what you pay for! Tom will be my go-to guy every time.

I have to express how extremely happy we were with Tom and his crew! Tom went above and beyond with everything we needed in helping us finish our basement. The guys were always on-time and the work was always done really well. I am very happy I chose them from Angie's List! I can't express how helpful Tom was every step of the way, since we were finishing the basement ourselves, he would let me know when I needed to have the next guys in (example plumber, electricians). Also, if I needed help and didn't have anyone in mind Tom always could recommend someone also. I would definitely recommend TAK and would use them again! A job well done and above and beyond!! Karen

TAK was exactly the kind of company we hope to find when having this kind of work done. Tom was extremely courteous and professional. He was also responsive to email, which I find to be a rare thing among service providers. We knew we were also going to install crown molding in these rooms. TAK is offering a technique called Drywall Art, in which all kinds of crazy profiles can be created for moldings and just about anything else you can think of. Tom really went the extra mile to show us what this would consist of and what to expect. It was very much appreciated. In the end, we decided not to do the "Drywall Art" crown. (I have foolishly decided to tackle all the trim myself.) We did schedule them for the rest of the drywall work though. The work went exactly as Tom said it would. Thorough, and as clean as you can expect a drywall job of this size could be. Everything appears to be perfect, but of course you really can't tell until the paint goes up. There was an issue with the window contractor that replaced a few windows immediately prior to the drywall work starting. They showed up missing a window. Tom was understanding, but a bit frustrated, as I was. In the end he would have to send somebody back out later, after the final window was replaced, to do the drywall returns for that one window. But, he wasn't going to hold that against me. The return would be done under the originally agreed upon price. The final window was replaced many weeks ago, but I have not contacted Tom about the final work yet. I'm doing all the trim myself, and am considering trimming out the windows in wood as well. If I do that, then I won't need them back to do that final window. (Tom, if you're reading this, that's why you haven't heard from me.) I would absolutely have them back, and recommend them to anyone needing this kind of work.

AWESOME....Tom and his crew were outstanding, very professional, clean, quick, detail oriented and a fair price. Would definitely use them again and would recommend to anyone. I informed Tom when he provided the initial quote that I am EXTREMEMLY picky on walls when it comes to perfectation. The met the expectations and performed from a cleaning standpoint. Was quick to provide a quote and very easy to work with on scheduling. Overall OUTSTANDING SERVICE!

We had an ugly unfinished garage which became more apparent after having cement floor which was in bad shape, repaired and epoxy clated by another vendor (Broadleaf). The work done the crew from TAK Drywall consisted of: Hose connection was relocated, additional outlets added and ceiling mounted bright lights were also taken care of by using TAK Drywall. The walls and ceiling were insulated. Drywall applied to one wall and ceiling. We opted for plywood (strandboard) on the remaining walls. Walls were primed and painted. A pull down ladder was installed. New entry door installed. Tom had the connections with electricians, plumbers, painters to coordinate the work from start thru completion. He was receptive to my ideas and provided excellent suggestions. The work was done in a timely manner with great care. I did not need to be present during all phases of the work. His team was very trustworthy. The garage looks great!

The room is roughly 350 sq ft. Tom was able to get out and quote the work in a very reasonable amount of time. His quote was in the middle as far as the price went. We chose him due to face that TAK is an "actual" drywall company (not some jack of all trades company) and his consistent positive reviews. He was able to to start the work in less than a week due to some already scheduled jobs in our area. His crew was on time and very clean. We did not have drywall dust all over the house like we had in the past with other dry wall companies. It took his crew only 4 days to complete all the work which also included priming and painting. Over the next several years we are going to have a few more large renovation projects and my only hope is that TAK is available to do the work.

The quality of the work was awesome. A slight communication issue at the beginning but all went well after that. The guys were friendly and very nice. The teams for each task in the process from hanging the drywall taping muddling and sanding were efficient in doing their portion. They cleaned up after themselves when they were done. Each time they were here they were in and out within a couple hours. The reason my husband gives a B for punctuality and responsiveness was that he would have preferred a phone call prior to the start date indicating an estimate of arrival time to begin the job. He was waiting around and finally called to get a time. Although A few minor issues during the process they are nothing that would stop me from hiring them again cuz they did great work and the guys were fabulous.

Tom and his crew arrived on the date they said they would to deliver and set up the house for popcorn ceiling removal. Due to our hectic work schedules, my fiancé and I kept in constant contact with Tom via email. Tom was extremely helpful and answering all of our first time homebuyers questions regrading the job that was being done. Tom was in constant contact with us regarding the timeline of the job. We had a few concerns about the job at the house but Tom gave us a quick and helpful response and when the job was completed we were thoroughly pleased. The crew did a good job of cleaning up. We would definitely hire Tom again and highly recommend his services. He was very professional and his crew did a great job!

The project took 2 weeks and was broken in to two phases. We were able to stay in the residence during the work, which made it easier for us. They worked to limit the amount of dust throughout the process, and I admit that I had heard stories from others on how much dust to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the LOW amount of drywall/sanding dust that we had to deal with during the process. The team did an excellent job at managing the dust and cleaning up at the end of the project! Tom communicated with me on a daily basis throughout the duration and I always knew when to expect the team to arrive/depart each day and the job completed on scheduled. It was a great experience. I highly recommend the TAK team for drywall work!

Tom and his team were very responsive to our short timeline and their pricing was better than other estimates too. They worked very quickly and got the job done. When there was a small misunderstanding regarding part of the job, Tom came back the very next day to fix it himself. The guy who did the mud and sanding did a good job with the work area, but not the best job of keeping it off of adjacent areas or cleaning up after himself when done. A little more attention to clean up, and this would have been a great job done all around. I would use them again, but would be sure to emphasize the importance of clean up.

They were professional and I was very impressed with them. We talked to the owner and he understood what I was looking for. He came out and looked at my project on my rental property. We need more upscale drywall work. If they could have done it, I would have hired them immediately. He quoted it anyway. He told me what I need to knock out for the drywaller and how to repair some surfaces. He did not need to tell me that. He took time to explain things about drywall. He was too expensive for me. It was going to be a huge project. I would use them if the situation was appropriate.

It went perfect. All the work was done when we were on vacation and when we came back everything was clean and we could not tell at all where the repairs were made.

Drywall is a dirty job and his crew did a nice job cleaning up daily and minimizing the debris and dust. I would recommend TAK and will use them again.

Finished 2nd and 3rd coat of drywall sanding/seams on walls and ceiling of tall 3-car garage. Also primed and painted all walls and ceiling with high-quality paint. $800 for drywall work, which I thought was reasonable; $1200 for painting, which I thought was a little steep. All work was very high quality. No problems with promptness, scheduling, cleanliness, professionalism - all of A quality.
