We had a backup of our system but thankfully it cleared itself. We decided to call Black Gold for service and not risk another backup. They wanted to come out the next day but we couldn't make it. I asked if there was any chance that we could get someone out today. The girl in the office said let me call you back! She called back and said yes! They had a truck in the area and they were at our house by 4pm. The tech was friendly and informative and we made a good call on getting the system serviced it needed to be done. A+++

Although I found Black Gold on Angie's List, they were also recommended to us by the company that installed our well and septic. This was our first time using a septic cleaning service, as we recently moved into our home. We were shocked to find our that the system had never been pumped since the home was built 12 years ago!!! Black Gold found a problem with a pump switch which we were able to replace ourselves. They also recommended buying a better pump and having it on hand, since the model that had been installed was known to have issues. They backfilled the hole and replaced the sod as well as they could have. We will definitely use their services again.

I called in the morning as I'd noticed frozen water over where the septic tank was. The receptionist took down my info, told me about a coupon I could use, quoted a price and then contacted the crew. She called me back in under 10 minutes to tell me they'd try to squeeze me in between 12-4. Called me again at 12:35 to tell me the crew was on their way;They were there by 12:45 . The problem was due to my not having had the tank pumped in way too many years. They got it opened up in spite of the ice and frozen ground, found that it was completely full of sludge, pumped it out, checked for damage and ran water through to make sure the field was still ok. Let me know how often I should have it pumped out. I had to pay a bit extra for the heavy sludge as the receptionist warned me and, but it was cheap at the price to have everything cleared up so fast. The guys were very nice, very professional. I appreciated the very prompt service, the prompt call backs, and how nice everyone was. Wonderful service.

After making the situation clear to the receptionist, the team arrived in less than 2 hours. They examined, figured out the problem, fixed it and were on their way in less than 2 hours after arrival. They were polite, prompt and good. They got the job done, made suggestions toward the system running generally better and left. Really professional and pleasant. Plus they fixed the problem quickly!

Black Gold was quite responsive and accommodating to need for quick work, given a scheduled event at our house occurring in a week. Was forthright about need to widen path to back yard to allow 40 ton truck carrying new tank to gain access, along with the backhoe and bobcat. Kept apprised of schedule in relation to rainy weather and need to act quickly. Also warned that they would provide rough grading only of yard afterward and that seeding or new sod would be needed. Responsiveness, timeliness, and basic work all get an A. Grading and cleanup get a C. Attached pictures show progress of work on day done. Grass and dirt was scraped off of the old tank and the backhoe used to break up the concrete of the old tank, then pull it out of hole. Major pieces of concrete were loaded into a waiting dump truck. Hole was slightly enlarged for slightly larger new tank. New tank was trucked in and crane on truck used to drop it into hole. Connections to existing pipework (with new fittings) were made. New tank was covered and bobcat used to push in dirt, clay, and rocks, with excess dirt then mounded on top of tank for "settling" to occur. Septic tank has worked fine since job was completed. Minor quibble in that I would have liked to have seen/understood fully the amount of drop between input and output pipes by demonstrating with a level or somesuch, as with sloping yard it was hard to gauge on my own, but since old input and output lines used, it is hard to see how it could have changed much. A bigger issue was the condition of the area after they finished. While I understood that the heavy trucks would leave some ruts and that the area over the tank would need re-seeding and some leveling after the rough grading, the backhoe and the bobcat did as much damage to their own areas as over the hole, especially since clay and rocks were dumped by the backhoe on the nearby grass, rather than a canvas tarp on somesuch, leading to damage when the backhoe scooped up the rocks. I, of course, did not expect perfection and I understand what rough-grading is, but three things about the grading bothered me. The first was that when the bobcat started filling the holes around the edges of the tank, he started by pushing in the segregated dirt and grass taken off the top, dropping it into the deepest parts of the hole, then went on to the clay and rocks, guaranteeing that the top layer would be rocky and difficult to seed. Secondly, he mounded plenty of extra dirt atop the tank for settling, but the settling occurs around the edges of the tank--the concrete tank leaves no room for anything to settle above it. It would have been better to mound dirt in a rectangular donut around the edges of the tank where settling would and did occur. I spent a lot of effort digging up clay from the top of the tank and moving it to the side. Third, the workers did not do a good job of picking chucks of concrete from the old tank out of the dirt and making sure they went into the dump truck. Consequently, I ended up with some sizeable chunks of unsanitary concrete in the yard which needed to be policed and discarded--dirty, hard work. Pictures show the work on the day performed, some of the chunks of concrete collected when I was attempting to level the mound of dirt, and the progress of the yard by the end of summer.

We were incredibly pleased with our experience with Black Gold Septic. Their office managers were easy to reach and prompt in their attentiveness to my calls and emails. Brian did a great job in explaining what needed to be done, and set clear expectations for what the job would look like in variety of instances. I ended up needing my header replaced and four new boxes were installed. They did several things that were additional to the work we agreed upon, such as their jet rod service - they even removed a massive rooted bush that save me hours of digging and sawing, as well as some very large concrete blocks. So far the work seems to have remedied the problem of waste water reaching the surface due to blockage. Lastly, they were easy to deal with when it came to payment. I will be using them in the future for septic pumping/maintenance. If you happen to come across this post, thanks again guys!

We are selling a house that required a well and septic inspection. The level of the septic tank was too high, and we were required to hire a septic repair service to analyze and repair the problem. It was worth waiting for Black Gold. They arrived on time with a courtesy call 30 minutes before to give us a head's up. Found problems the inspector did not find, solved them and were able to help us pass inspection. Very clear about explaining what they needed to do, what each part of the service would cost, what possible steps were available. I appreciated their respect toward me as a customer.

I contacted them to set up an appointment to drain the septic tank. They were able to set up an appointment around my work schedule and arrived on time. They drained the tank without any problems and when I asked about the septic field, they checked the depth and informed me that it may be too deep. They also answered my questions about odors I was experiencing in the house and gave some suggestions on how to correct the problem.

Black Gold Septic did an excellent job. They were very friendly and professional. They found the tank without any issues and the damage to that area of the grass was very minimal. The cost was about what we expected so I'd say they were very competitive. I will definitely be using them on a regular basis for our septic.
