+ -1 moreAsked all the right questions and presented options during bidding process. I felt quite comfortable throughout the process, i.e., he seemed experienced. He predicted that he would be able to start in March, a month from the esimate, but didn't actually get to work until May. Actual on-site work took Mon-Fri week. Dust control was fantastic and cleanup, save for disposal of old flooring, was a cinch. A year on, the floor still looks great and has only a few squeaks in high traffic areas. There are no gaps greater than 1/32 of an inch.
Description of Work: Removal of small part of old flooring (I did the majority of the demo) and prep and repair of subfloor. Installed new oak floor (2 1/4 inch solid wood), trim and finish with stain and three coats of polyurethane. We originally planned for him and his crew to install and finish small trim at the bottom of the baseboard, but the baseboard needed repair and I decided to do it myself.
