+ -1 moreTucker's Automotive test drove the vehicle, disassembled parts of the engine looking for the issue, reassembled, test drove and the car ran fine. No charge. They said if I had any more problems with it to return it and they would look at it. I've been driving for two and a half weeks and have as of yet have not had an issue with the vehicle.
Description of Work: My vehicle was running rough, the engine light was coming on and off and had low take off power.

+ -1 moreI chose this provider based on recommendations on this site (in fact, I joined Angie's List to find a provider for this job!). I was leery because all of the costs of service listed on all the reviews seemed high, however, there weren't other nearby options and they did have good reviews. I didn't want to drive far because it's a brake problem. I arrived this morning and they were friendly and prompt. However, they quoted me $350 to replace brake lines, which I declined because of the price. I just received another estimate from another local shop of $120. I don't see how there can be any reasonable explanation for that big of a difference in price.

Description of Work: Have used Tucker several times because of recommendations locally, and on Angie's list--they are very good at working you in, finding what's wrong, and getting it fixed ASAP--Will continue to use them min the future--would recommend them highly to anyone needing car service.

+ -1 moreMy car still seems to be running well (it was when it arrived) and I feel they did a good job. Prices were considerably lower than the nearby Honda dealerships for the same services. Spoke to the receptionist (owner's wife) a few times prior to deciding to take my car there and she was extremely helpful and pleasant. On the day of service, I dropped my car off at 6:30 AM and the owner gave me a ride to work. Overall, I chose the place from reviews on Angie's list as well as individuals from my work recommending them. Although it is difficult to know how quality of a job they did with preventive maintenance services, I would go there again due to the prices and customer service.
Description of Work: Tucker Auto Repair completed needed preventative maintenance on my Honda Civic, including oil change, tire rotation, valve adjustment, new serpentine belt, coolant flush, transmission fluid flush, and brake fluid flush.

Description of Work: Discovered on the weekend that my car was leaking coolant--not enough to make the engine overheat, but not a good situation--called Tucker on Monday morning to see if I could get the car in for a look see/repair that day since I was very busy, with the car, the rest of the week. Even tho they were short handed they had me come in at 10 am to see what they could find--discovered the overflow coolant tank had cracked, causing the leakage--found a replacement--got it installed in an hour--was very appreciative of their willingness to diagnose and fix on such short notice--my second great experience with Tucker.

+ -1 moreThe comments above pretty well cover it--the only thing that I will caution is that they are a bit hard to find--leave a few extra minutes for a wrong turn or two--but I was impressed that there were a lot of cars in for service--a sign that others think they do good work also. . .
Description of Work: Had a Ford Taurus that had started to hestitate, run rough, etc. . .had the codes scanned at a parts store (that does it for no charge) and that indicated either a spark plug problem on the number one cylinder, or an ignition coil problem. . .called local Ford dealer--the prices they quoted seemed way over the top ($95 for them to read the code--almost $200 to replace the spark plugs, etc) went to Angie's List and saw several nice comments about Tucker Auto Repair--called them--described the problem--they gave me much more reasonable estimates ($40 on the spark plug--$70 on the ignition coil--if needed) After talking with them a while, we determined that with 105,000 miles on the car it was time for a tune up--they quoted me a good price and I made an appointment to take the car in and they would do the work while I waited. The did the complete tune up, then determined that the ignition coil was indeed the source of the misfire so we went ahead and replaced that as well--they did the work for the estimate provided in a timely and professional manner. . . will definetly go back to them in the future.

I recently had a fan belt check close to home at a reputable garage and they were courteous and professional, but they also recommended getting the same repairs done as above - if needed. Tucker's price was 40% cheaper! For the same services. I can't recommend Tucker Auto repair high enough. Excellent service and excellent prices.

+ -1 moreI called asking about A/C service for my Chrysler Townand Country, I wanted to do most of the work myself but did not have to tools needed to recover refrigerant already in my A/C system and recharge after the repair was complete. They were more than willing to work with me and I was able to show up at the shop and he pulled the car into the bay almost immediately to begin the work. They did not have any problems with me wanting to save a few dollars doing the majority of the service myself as some shops in the area did. If I come across anything else that I don't have the time, tools, or knowledge to do Tucker Auto will be the first place I call.
Description of Work: Recover R-134a from my van before I did some A/C repairs on my own, brought it back in 2 days later to be evacuated and recharged.
