They were a pain in the but. Price is fine. I did not like anything about their service. I take that back, we did like the sales guy, he was great, that's why we chose them. The movers were terrible, they did not take care of our items. Scratched stuff, broke stuff, it was an horrible experience. The sales guy was fine. The movers, interacting with them was fine. Not the slowest guys, but you expect that for movers. We had to put together a list of things that was broken, to get the insurance to pay for the broken items. They did not want to pay for anything that they broke. Be more professional, make sure your movers take care of the items, that way you do not have to pay back for broken items. Answer your emails, we kept asking, they told us we owed them money for extra storage. We responded back, and it took them thirty days. How is that any good experience for any consumers. I wouldn't go with the cheapest now, I would go with something more expensive. The sales guys were punctual, the movers were not.
Description of Work: Packing, moving from Peoria to Atlanta, and insurance on some of our items.

They started by giving us a quote, then charging a 10% extra "just in case" and "refundable", and ended by telling us we had to pay and extra 5k on top of that claiming that there was extra weight on the truck even when they ended up not moving one pickup truck, an above ground pool (large), and 2 complete U Haul cubes packed with all our books and tools. All of the above included in the estimate for 17k. If they can't give you an honest estimate then they should do the job.The driver and his crew took 3 days to pack a 3 bedroom apartment, they used almost 200 large moving boxes (not exaggerating, I have pics of how they fill an entire semi with boxes), broke a bunch of things, all my clothes were wrinkled, they open a large box, throw (literally) things in it and fill the other half with packing paper. After they packed, the office informed us that they will arrive to destination 4 days later than we were told by the time we signed the contract. When they got there, driver was rude beyond words, he cursed at my husband when he called to ask when the truck will be here, then told me: I will move thing inside only once and put them down only once, if you don't know where you want things to go that is your problem and if there is no more room will leave them in the driveway. BTW he put furniture in last so after they filled the rooms floor to ceiling with boxes there was no room for furniture so they did leave it wherever they felt like it, when I asked to have furniture go in first the driver told me that he was not going to do that and things will come out as they were. The sales guy never returned my calls after they got my credit card and the office person got more rude every time. When the unpackers came, they were so upset with how they moved our things that they themselves took pictures for me to send to the office and tell them this was unacceptable and ask for a refund, office never followed through. When my husband called the office manager and told him the driver cursed at him when he asked when the truck would be here, the answer he got was "I don't believe you because we hire people that know what they are doing" The mover and his crew has "white boy" and swastika tattoos running up and down their arms and legs. I thought a gang was invading my house. They took long brakes every hour, smoked and left a long trails of cigarette butts in our driveway Very unprofessional! We moved 5 times across the country, this was the worst experience I ever had. Never hire them!
Description of Work: Worst company to hire for moving! If you are in IL hire Mordue instead, I regret not doing that. Federal does what they call a "self pack" to save money, that means the driver is in charge of packing your things and moving them so if something brakes comes out of their pay.

Federal Companies is wonderful. They made the transportation of the motorcycles easy and so effortless. The representative I go through is Mary Wiker and she is such, a treat to work with. The bikes arrived in great condition and the price can't be beat. I'd most definitely use Federal again. Thanks!
