I never heard back from them. I called them originally because of the good reviews on Angie's List. That's not how a reliable or professional business gets a customer or wins a bid!

I was calling around to a bunch of different providers of this service and everyone was scheduled way out. I really wanted to get it done as soon as possible as the playset had already been ordered and taking up a stall in our garage. I happened to catch Kent at a good time as he was able to swing by and give me an estimate that evening. He said he'd do it for $1000 and that was exactly how much he charged us. They were on time, very professional and friendly. Kent did a great job explaining what he was going to do and they happened to not have a need for the excavator at any other job so they were able to sneak our small job in that same week. They did a great job of not tearing up the lawn with the excavator while they were here. I was very impressed with the work they did and would not hesitate to call them again.

Had the pleasure of reaching out to these folks to go ahead and add top soil to he back yard. Its always had a dip in the middle and rains could often turn it into a swamp. I contacted them via their website late at night. Got a response the next morning. I live a bit out of the Quad Cites. They said that would not be an issue and offered to stop by on the weekend. They called ahead of time, arrived promptly. Were friendly and offered a great price. They suggested the next weekender. They contacted me prior the weekend to make sure everything was still good for a Sunday installation. They also called me in the morning of the installation to let me know right about when they would be there. They brought in GREAT looking black soil. True Illinois farm soil the way you want it to look. They spend several hours bring in loads of dirt. I believe they actually brought in more then they charged me for, but they wanted to make sure it looks good. They then brought in a small tractor and in less then an hour had a great looking grade in place. Prior to leaving they let me know to call them if there were issues and also let me know that if additional items were needed with the back yard area, they had those tools and could make it happen.

The service was excellent. They did a fabulous job. While they were here, they lifted up my patio and did some leveling below and some stone work. They were courteous, on time, and professional. I was very pleased with the service, and I would recommend them.

This project went exactly as planned. Kent took my ideas and did a beautiful design. He presented several options in regard to design and materials suitable for the area we had to work with and his suggestions were right on point. They cleared and leveled the land and were meticulous in their work to build the project. The stone work is beautiful and I was very pleased at their efforts to maintain a very neat and clean worksite.

We moved into a new house where the builder and landscaped the front yard but not the back. Drainage was terrible with water pooling next to the house. We solicited two bids for final grading of the back yard which had a 'hump' which we thought we wanted removed but weren't sure. We thought the first bid would not solve our problem and frankly was more intent on selling wall building experience. Countryman offered a drainage solution with no walls and it would remove our 'hump'. After laser measurements the guy (co-owner) started to work. He spent the entire first day on the approximate 120 by 90 yard. On the second day he remeasured and then redid several sections which did not meet his goals. The final step was to 'break up' the top layer to make it read for seeding or sod.

They're personable and pleasant overall o work with. They offer top notch work. They’re careful as to not damage current landscaping and plantings. I would recommend them highly to anyone! From start to finish, it’s been a fantastic job so far!
