The Davey Tree Expert Company

Went perfectly. Our tree branch landed on neighbor's roof. The tree is a cottonwood, so the branch was huge and thick and it looked like a precarious job. Davey's bid was about $1400 lower than the highest bid! (This is the beauty of Angie's List-- our 5 bids ranged from $640 to almost $2000!). Their proposal was given to us in a folder, along with a certificate of liability coverage -- very professionally done. The work was done on time, courteously, with care for our neighbor's roof; all debris was cleaned up meticulously. They have an excellent reputation and lived up to it. Would recommend without hesitation!!!

Davey Tree arrived on time and performed their work quickly. There was an accident with a stump grinder and an underground cable, but Davey Tree offered to cover the cost of repair by deducting it from the bill.

They have got several different branches. I have a 25-year relationship. They provide good service for you and as long as their prices remain at least reasonable there is actually no benefit for anybody to change. There are about 10 different services that I have done periodically, they show up on a regular scheduled period. I have had an overall very good experience with them. They are expensive, but I still continue to use them.

Evidently the stump removal wasn't as complete as it could have been because the Nursery that came to plant another tree in place of the spruce complained that there were still large roots in place. However, I am still giving them a high rating because overall my experience with them was great and I would hire them again.

This was a very professional job. Davey's salesman arrived on time for the appointment to give us a price on removing a HUGE, five-trunked, tree from our back yard. Jeff spent at least an hour measuring and viewing the tree from all angles. We'd had several other companies give us bids, and though not the lowest, the Davey Tree bid was the most complete as for what we were paying for and what we could expect. Their crew of five men, along with an enormous truck to haul away the larger logs, a chipper and a bucket truck, arrived at first light and got started immediately. They worked until it was near full-darkness to clear all traces of a tree ever being there, other than the agreed upon pile of wood chips to fill in the depression that would be left. Two days later they brought out a huge machine that ground the stump down to a foot below grade. All-in-all it was well worth the money. You should get what you pay for, and Davey Tree delivers!

They were prompt, courteous, and did a good job. I found them very pleasant to work with.

They are good harbourers. They care about the trees and what they look like after they are trimmed. They really care about what they do. They take real interest in what they do and they are very cooperative with the home owner.

They did everything that I asked. I asked to keep the wood from the tree and they left it for me. They were very helpful.

Very well. Showed up on time. Crew was easy to work with and did as asked. The GM for the project stopped by several times to make sure everything was moving along. I would recommend them to anyone.

I called Davey Tree to establish an appointment for an estimate. They sent a representative (Bob, I think) within a few hours to take a look. The representative examined the tree in question and concluded that, yes, that cherry tree was dead or dying. I requested that it be removed with a number of the saplings that were growing in my yard. We walked around my yard while I pointed out which saplings to remove. The representative wrote a contract and sketched a diagram of my property and where the trees to be removed were located. I examined the contract and the diagram before signing and kept a copy of both. Davey Tree arrived on the scheduled date. They will perform work even if you are not at home, if you authorize it. They removed the tree and the designated saplings and used a stump grinder to shred the stump below ground level. They left the wood chips behind and those decomposed over the space of a few months. Overall, I thought that this was a good job.

They seemed very knowledgeable and competent.

Brian Borkowicz, the District Manager, responded the next day and visited to look at the job and give me an estimate. This was reasonable at $640 so I gave the go-ahead. Although Brian told me their workload was some two weeks out, due to my impending siding job he tried to fit me in very quickly, within days of his visit. Our first date was called off due to heavy rain forecast, but Brian still fitted me in some days later. The day the two tree guys came, we were having to leave for an extended appointment, so after explaining to the two tree guys what was needed, we left them to it. On our return, the guys had been long gone, I inspected the work. All had been completed as I requested and they had even cut back from the siding, two other bushes I had not mentioned.I later spoke to a neighbot of mine who had watched them work. He noted how professionally they had operated and cleaned everything up prior to their leaving .Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the work of Davey Tree and will use them again in the future. At his request, I also gave their full details to my Neighbor.

They do great. I have used them for years. They are very knowledgeable. They know what they are doing.

They were very prompt and I thought they were reasonable than the money we paid. I will recommend them because I was very satisfied.

They do a good job. I think the price is a little higher than I'd like to pay. They do what they are supposed to do. They just come in with a hose, spray the tree and leave. It takes them 5 minutes and I don't even know when they are coming.

A large portion of my neighbor's tree fell in my backyard knocking out cable, phone, electric. It happened at midnight so I had to wait until the next morning to call someone to get the tree out of my yard. I called Davey and the sales person was very helpful. He got the crew there asap. But the crew was not respectful of my property. They ripped up a small fence I had put around my geraniums threw it somewhere and basically trampled the flowers. These flowers were not in the area of the tree being removed. The guy who was climbing the tree to get the hanging limbs sat on my new garage roof and cut up the tree parts. I was extremely anxious because it looked as if he was cutting the garage roof. I had to have my roof guy come over and check for damage. I've learned that the sales people are usually very courteous and sympathetic. But the actual workers aren't. And, sometimes I wonder if the sales person ever passes on the client's concerns to the workers. I guess, if I had a tree problem again, I would take a little time and call a couple of different places. But, since my phone and cable were out, I wanted to get rid of the tree as soon as possible so I could get the other things fixed.

Everything went great! When the Arborist came out to assess the situation, he explained to me in detal and pointed out the problems and then offered suggestions on how to correct them. I felt confident in his recommendation and ultimately decided to save the damaged half of the tree. When the crew arrived within a couple of weeks to do the work, Clayton was there to show them exactly what needed to be done. They were efficient, respectful of our property, cleaned up all debris and relatively quiet. You would never have known they were there except for the falling branches. I would 100% recommend them and use them again.

A large tree in the back yard of a neighbor was to be trimmed so that ALL overhanding limbs on our property were to be trimmed back. Davey came out and only cut the bottom few branches. Called back to have them complete the job considering it a misunderstanding. They were very prompt and professional and were able to come back and mostly cut the higher limbs for an additional fee. I would say the company is prompt, fairly priced and responsive to customer needs. But I am a bit unhappy that after multiple visits we still did not get the job quite right. While it may have been unclear from the first description I was very good about describing the job the 2nd and 3rd times.

I called for an estimate which they provided within a week. The estimate was right around what I had paid other companies in the past. I talked to them and said we could go ahead with the job, and they said they would call me back to schedule the exact day. After a week or so no one had called so I called them, and then they scheduled us for the next day. Aside from that slight scheduling snafu, the tree crew seemed professional and did a good job trimming all the trees. I would use them again.

It was a special circumstance. They had to clean the apple tree between each cut with alcohol and they went above and beyond. I have used them for years.

They are very professional, the agent gave me much more information than I needed even about trees he wasn't treating. They were on time and the clean up was absolutely excellent. The trees look wonderful. I have used them several times before and I would definitely use them again in the future.

Mr. Brian Borkowicz, the district manager and also the arborist, came for an evaluation of our trees and shrubs. We were apprehensive as we had a terrible experience with a competitor in the area. By the time Mr. Borkowicz had been here 15 minutes, he put us at ease with his expert, knowledge and information given regarding issues with our trees and shrubs. We entered a contract with Davey that day and everything that he promised happened. It was so refreshing to deal with a company and people who kept their word and made promises that they kept. The crew that came to the house was fantastic. Alfonso and Luis were the tree techs that did the dangerous work at the top of large old trees. They worked like two surgeons operating on a high wire. When they left our yard, there was no remaining debris or any damage. The lawn tech, Sal, always called to inform us of the service he would be providing and left us information when he had completed the task. Their receptionist, Rosemary, was pleasant, never threatening or pushy. A wonderful representation of her company. We have more work to be done and will be using Davey again at a later date. This is a first class company that you can trust. They are true experts in their field.
