I received absolutely terrible service from this contractor!! I documented my phone calls, his no shows, his many excuses, his activity or non activity. After 9 weeks from signing a contract, the job was about 1/4 complete and the workmanship was terrible. The contractor consistently lied about the start date and wouldn't show up. He claimed at times that his truck broke down, his brother died, his crew didn't show......and I was always on the phone calling to find out what the story was. I finally ended up demanding my money back by leaving a voice mail and never heard from him. I'm in the process of going thru the Better Business Bureau, Attorney General and small claims court to recoup my money. The work the contractor managed to do has to be completely redone because of his terrible workmanship. Furthermore, in Illinois a contractor must state on his contract "The 3 day right to cancel" law. He did NOT have this on the contract and never verbally communicated this. (I discovered this law after the fact). Illinois residents please take note of this!!
Description of Work: Contractor was to enclose my back porch and make it into a sunroom. I had a frame already around the porch and it was already on a slab, so he needed to enclose it with siding half way up and custom ordered large windows above the siding. He was also suppose to install a door. A metal roof was to replace a fiberglass roof that was damaged in a storm. After 9 weeks from signing a contract, the "sunroom" was no where near completion. I paid him up front for materials (NEVER do this!) and never received the materials (most expensive were custom windows).
