+ 0 moreThe owner inspected the outside drain systems via televising and determined other drains also contained some silt causing them to run slow. Therefore, we decided to install a new drain for the chimney flu pit and we diverted one gutter and one sum pump discharge into this drain. The drain ran underneath the patio floor blocks and the sanitary sewer lines. The crew pulled up the grass forming sod strips, carefully removed the necessary patio blocks and hand dug the 25' trench piling the dirt onto sheets of ply wood to keep the surrounding areas clean. The channel was 2' deep at the beginning and ended at a 5' pit for the dry well. The job was completed in one day and the disturbed areas were barely noticeable. They were knowledgeable, professional, neat, courteous and very reasonably priced. Other companies had much higher estimates and were planning to hire landscaping services to restore the patio and yard at an additional cost.
Description of Work: I have an older 1970's freestanding fireplace in my basement and the flu emerges outside below ground level, turns 90 degrees and extends above the rooftop. Over the years, the shallow stone pit drain below the 90 degree elbow filled in with silt and the drain was no longer effective during heavy rains. Therefore, water was leaking in through the flu joints. I needed a new and better drain which would empty into a dry well 25' feet away in the yard.
