They are currently too busy to come out and take a look at the chimney. They ask me to take pictures which I did and send them to them.

EVERYTHING WENT GREAT. THEY INSPECTED THE CHIMNEY. THE NEXT WEEK WHEN THE CHIMNEY CAP CAME IN, THEY REMOVED THE NEST AND INSTALLED THE CAP. THEIR WORK WAS VERY NEAT AND CLEAN. WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECCOMEND THEM.

I called Soot Yourself because I had some water coming in after heavy rains. My last service of a cleaning and inspection was with a different company and they said I needed a new cap and it would cost almost $700, so I figured that was probably the reason for the water and wanted a second estimate as that seemed steep. I called Soot Yourself and offered to send them photos the other company had taken, as they claimed it was a difficult to remove current cap and thought maybe that was the reason for the higher estimate. Soot Yourself responded by saying, not only would a cap be significantly cheaper, but I didn't even need a new one! They said the highly unusual heavy and windy rains were to blame for the water and it wasn't something I should be concerned about. Super honest and obviously were not trying to push anything as they told me I shouldn't spend any money because what I currently had was fine! They also were very responsive and polite. While I didn't use their services for anything this time, I definitely will for future needs!

They provided a very reasonable estimate and great service! I would definitely hire again.

Fine, The providers are retired firemen. We moved to a home which has a fireplace, so we wanted to make sure everything was in working order.

The entire process with Soot Yourself was pleasant and simple, starting with our first phone contact. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The company is staffed by off-duty firemen. On the day of service, they arrived on time and got right to work. They installed a 4 inch by 35 foot aluminum liner kit for the water heater with a new cap on the roof. The product is warrantied. The work was done quickly and they left the area clean. Plus they charged about a third as much as the highest estimate we received.

Awesome! They were the nicest most professional people. The family is upstanding and proved why they have been in business so long.

Absolutely amazing service. They came very prepared. After a quick assessment they went to work very promptly. We have never had a fireplace before and they were very helpful in explaining the safest process and types of wood. They also recommend (upon being asked) a place to purchase a fire rug. They explained it would be more cost effective at this time instead of replacing the entire hearth.

It went really well. We recently moved into our house and needed the chimney cleaned before we used it. Turns out we had a leak in the gas line. So glad we called Soot Yourself. Al discovered the leak and showed me how to still have a wood burning fire without the gas starter. (We can't replace the gas line yet due to the wall). Once again, we were very happy with the service and really glad we called them before starting a fire.

After making an appointment for someone to come out to clean my 2 chimneys.. The day b4 she called to say they could not show up & would call me back to reschedule but never did call me back. I tried 3 times to call to reschedule left VM & she never responded back to me!! 😡

Unfortunately, they don't service my area, but I would have used them if I could. Though they couldn't help me in person, they still gave me insight to my issue over the phone and an estimated cost if they were to do the job. The price was in line with other companies I contacted, actually a little lower. Very helpful! And I like the fact that they are off-duty firemen.

Very responsive and helpful - they referred us to another provider and warned against certain problems with the work we were planning for free.

On time and very professional. The outside of chimney needs some repair but due to the cold weather they wouldn't do the work now and said to schedule it for the spring. I would definately hire them again in the future.

I messaged them on a Saturday to see if they could figure out why smoke enters my home, when I use the fireplace. They messaged back that I could call on Saturday night. I didn't see the message and thought I'd try on a Sunday and they made time to talk to me. They said they offered to take a call on Sat night, because they thought I had smoke entering the home and they wanted to help me stop it. They gave advice on how to stop the problem for free. I don't think it'll solve my problem, so they said they can look at the problem and see if there's something they can do. I haven't met too many people eager to help you out for free on a Saturday night. They'll be first on the list whenever I have a problem with the chimney. Hopefully, their work matches their service, which went above and beyond what is expected.

Visit well worth the cost. I was concerned a damper needed to be replaced in the basement fireplace because there was smoke in the basement when the fireplace was in use upstairs. I was advised that both dampers were working properly. One damper was inadvertently left open from the previous use. I was advised to leave one window in the basement slightly open when using the upstairs fireplace to see if that eliminated the smoke problem. If the problem still occured I could talk to a heating contractor about a kit related to this problem. Advised about placement of CO detectors. Cleaning was not needed because the fireplace had not been used after smoke detected last year.

Over the past 2 years I have had the same company clean my chimney. In both visits, they were punctual, professional and polite. They did the little things: like trying not selling me something that I did not need and using different electrical outlets so not to trip the electrical circuit with their equipment.

Did not use them because they do not service my area.
