Matrix did a wonderful job. They were late (for a good reason). I would have appreciated a call, as I was home all day. But in the end, worth the wait.

They came and did the estimate right away. They came when they were supposed to and they did a terrific job and they were very easy to work with. It was a really good price for what it was.

They answered my call, made the appointment for the quote, they showed up on time and they gave us a quote which I thought was very reasonable. He was very personable and he seemed like a person who cared and seemed to know what he was doing.

Very pleased with the services we received from Joe. We had our carpet removed and replaced with hardwoods. Our existing hardwoods were refinished and stained to match. The project included adding oak treads and risers to the stairs. Joe frequently communicated about the progress and stayed on the initial timeline presented. Great attention to detail.

Joe was fast, competent and helpful. He was able to start early which helped as we had a tight move-in schedule. I loved the color we chose together. He re-installed some of the the built-ins even better than they were before. He kept me in the loop during the process. Though I won't need Matrix's services for quite a while (Thanks Joe!) I'll certainly recommend them to friends in the area.

Joe was very professional and punctual. He took care of answering alley questions, even though some may have been common knowledge. He took care not to scuff the walls and was mindful of the entire home. I will definitely refer him to others as he went above and beyond.

From our first contact, these guys were just outstanding. They returned our call promptly, gave us a reasonable estimate, AND did a perfect job. Our floors look fabulous! They exceeded our expectations in every way. On top of flawless workmanship, both Joel and Tim are kind and trustworthy individuals to have in your home. We will use their services again in the future and recommend to our friends and family.

Matrix came out to do an estimate and then never sent me the estimate. I never got any sort of follow up after coming to our home.

Even though they are 90 years old, the oak floors in our house look amazing. In two places in the house, once we removed the old carpet, there was wood missing from the floor. Gelu did a great job weaving new planks into the floor so you can't tell the difference between new and old wood. He was also meticulous filling the hundreds of nail holes in the floor throughout the house from the years of having carpet installed. The work was acommplished on time and in budget. He was also careful to protect walls and other surfaces from getting damaged and would always clean up at the end of the day. We were very happy with the results and would use this company again.

First off, let me say WOW! What a difference from a tired looking floor beat up from years of use to a elegant dark oak stain. The look that we got was better than we could have ever expected. From beginning to end, Joe was a professional and showed up when he said he would and completed the job on time. The quality of work was superb. I would use Joe again in a heartbeat.

He did a fabulous job. The scheduling was perfect. The installation was flawless. He did a great job matching the stain on our trim. He went aboveboard on the cleanup. We couldn't be more satisfied. Call him! Great guy!

Gelu (Joe) is a hard worker and does a professional job. He didn't show up for our first appointment but was right on time during the 5 days the job spanned. Normally I wouldn't pursue a contractor who "spaces off" an appointment but I cut him some slack because of the good reviews he had on Angies List. The floors are beautiful.

All went well. He could have opted to do an expensive fix, but instead he chose to be honest. We are most impressed with Joe. He does great work and stands behind it.

Joe did a great job in making sure things were done right and in the manner we wanted it done. First things first, Joe works alone so you know right away he is holding himself and only himself accountable for how the work is done. He is very professional, prompt every day, stayed late to finish what he had to do for the day, to make sure he was done by end of week. He hung plastic as necessary to protect other parts of the house and took great care to make sure dust etc was minimal. He worked with my wife to sample 6 stains, not minding one bit that we took a while to make up our mind (we went with Early American). Overall Joe's work was excellent and I strongly recommend him. The only thing (if it's anything at all) is that Joe's service does not include moving furniture nor has recommendation for movers. I moved it all myself, which isn't bad since I probably needed the excercise. So my one recommendation is to make sure you line up a moving service if needed. But except for this one small item, I recommend Joe. My wife and I couldn't be more pleased with his personal and professional service.

I gave Joe a call to tell him about my project, he came the next day to review what needed to be done, and the next day I received a quote from him via email. I must stress because of the negative reviews by two individuals that Joe was prompt in returning my phone call, coming over the next day at the specified time, and providing me a quote in a very timely manner. I think that people have to understand that Joe is a busy man, and sometimes they have to be patient if they want quality work done by a true professional. Simply stated, I believe that Joe is not just sitting around just waiting for the phone to ring. To give Joe a rating of F is simply not acceptable if he did not do any work for you. When Joe came over to do the estimate, he noticed that a few things needed to be done with plumbing and electrical; as a few things were not up to code. Joe is very knowledgeable about the village codes in Woodridge, and suggested that I check them out before he does any work. We mutually set up a day for Joe to start the project, and he arrived bright and early at 8:00 AM just as we agreed. Joe is very punctual, and follows up on all of his commitments. The first day Joe had completed my kitchen, and it's absolutely beautiful. I cannot praise him enough regarding his attention to detail, and his professional workmanship. Joe has exceeded my expectations in all respects. The next day Joe came to do my laundry room, and again, simply perfection! Joe had no problem moving my appliances around, and when asked to do some additional work; he never said no. He didn't nickle and dime me like other contractors would. What he quoted me is what I paid. Joe has such a positive and 'can do' attitude, and is a joy to work with. His work is meticulous, and is truly perfection defined! His rates are very reasonable. You are getting top notch workmanship, and you have the advantage of Joe's many years in the business. When Joe was leaving, he noticed that I didn't have enough room for the debris, so he loaded it into his van, and said that he will get rid of it. After he had left I reviewed his work once again, and noticed how precise he is in cutting the quarter rounds, and matching the corner angles. Joe is a dedicated professional, and really shows pride in his work. I most definitely would hire Joe again, and have already referred him to a number of my friends. I'm giving Joe an AAA++++++++ for the superior job he has done in my home.

Joe came in as arranged, did his measurements, and gave us a price for labor, giving us the opportunity to buy our own flooring if we so chose. We bought our flooring at Lowes, got free deliver to the living room, and then Joe came in to do the work. First he removed the old hardwood floor in the kitchen which involved cutting around the base cabinets. Then he looked for squeaks, reattached the plywood where needed, and then got started on the installation. He worked from roughly 8:00am to 7:00pm, taking only a short lunch break. He was a perfectionist in his work, making sure that each board was attached correctly and mixed up enough to maker the floor visually interesting. We had to buy unfinished baseboard and quarter-round because none was manufactured prefinished in our color. Joe stained and polyurethaned all that wood as well and installed it by nailing it to the studs in the wall. After finishing the work, he cut up all the old floor he had removed, cut and tied the old carpeting into strips, and took it with him. Also, as he was doing the flooring, he moved all the furniture, and then put felt floor protectors on all the furniture before he moved it back to where it should be. Also, when our area rugs and pads arrived, he installed them as well, and even moved the dining room table by himself. When he was done, we had a fabulous looking first floor. Overall, we found Joe to be professional, thorough, dedicated, and we strongly recommend him for anyone else needing hardwood floors. When we do our second floor, we plan to call Joe again.

I contacted this vendor twice on two separate days. The vendor never responded. I see that another Angie's list member had the same experience.

In a word, fantastic! Joe (Gelu) is a true professional. The hardwood flooring looks almost like new, and the work was done on time and in budget. Joe deserves the straight A's that he receives on Angie's List.

Joe is one of the best workmen that we have ever employed. He is very professional and his rates are more than reasonable. In addition to installing the hardwood, Joe moved some very heavy furniture as there was no way we could clear the rooms entirely for the installation. Joe shows up when he says he will. He also cleans up every day.

We called Joe and he came the same day and gave us an estimate. We decided on a date to begin the work and he showed up promptly and did the job in exactly the time frame he said he would. He does beautiful work and he's a very nice person to do business with. Our 50 year old floors look like they were just installed yesterday. We are extremely pleased!

After calling numerous flooring companies and receiving exceptionally high quotes and dealing with them trying to convince me to use other materials, I contacted Joe with Matrix Flooring. He met with me at the scheduled day and time and provided a quote the following day. It was a very fair price and I signed a contract with him immediately. We were not in our house yet and needed the flooring done before we arrived. Instead of waiting until the day he said he would start, any day he had extra time he would go to our house for the prep work. He completed the flooring 2 days before we arrived which provided more than 24 hours for the poly to cure. We went with unfinished Brazilian Cherrywood and the floors are beautiful! Tony did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend him and will use him again on our 2nd floor.

Our experience with Gelu of Matrix was great. He did the work while we were on vacation and we returned home to beautifully refinished floors and no mess. The dust was negligible. You could never tell new boards had been woven into existing hardwood flooring where the water damage had been. It was seamless and wonderful. We would not hesitate to recommend Gelu or use his services again!

Joe is a total pro and did a beautiful job from start to finish. He was willing to pick up the flooring from the store after I purchased it which saved me a huge headache in transporting it myself. He had a scheduling snafu but was actually able to start the job earlier than expected and completed it sooner then expected. There were several areas which required some slight out of the box thinking and Joe did a great job- I had a step in my living room from the entryway and the transition piece he put in looks seamless and beautiful. He used a piece of the shoe to cover up the back of my kitchen cabinet and it matches very nicely. Overall he was friendly, accommodating, made great suggestions, priced fairly, cleaned up and most importantly did a beautiful job. I would not hesitate to use him for any work in the future and I would certainly recommend him.
