I called Jay's because of a vessel sink that was leaking into the cabinet below. They quoted me $1600 to fix a leaky sink! It was more than twice what the cabinet and sink cost together (installed)! I was going to get a new P-trap and pipe (which were less than 3 years old). I can't believe they could quote me that with a straight face. I'm almost sure the solution is a bit of caulk and a wrench. Then they charged me $79 for the insult. I would advise you to get more than one estimate.

Both gentlemen were very professional - conscious of everyone's safety, kept me advised as the work progressed, and finished in a timely manner.

Work was performed by experienced plumber and is of high caliber. Plumber contacted the village to arrange shutoff at outside water line to perform the repair. Price for job seemed high for repair.

They send very good people out and they are very knowledgeable and thorough. They are not the lowest priced plumber but the quality of their work is worth it. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They were very nice on the phone and very responsive in getting someone to our house. Our sink was clogged and normal remedies did not help. When the plumber arrived, the first thing he did was walk around our house and check every other thing related to plumbing, other than the kitchen sink. When I asked what he was going to do with the kitchen sink, he said that I had two choice, to rod it out or to go with hydrojetting. He stressed that the rodding did not come with a warranty, and suggested that it could do more damage to pipes. The hydrojetting had a one-year warranty and they came out again to do it within a year (for "free") if pipes were clogged again. The cost of the hydrojetting was over $700 because they basically charge you for the second time they come out, even if you don't need it (we compared prices for this service to what we found online). The sink was cleared and I was happy I got it done. However, we had a camera down the main line through the basement pipe - instead of the access point in the front yard - and there was a bad blockage. The plumber immediately suggested hydrojetting the main at a cost of $1700. We decided not to get this done, and called our regular plumber for the job. I would not recommend Jay's Plumbing, unless you don't mind paying a fortune and having to deal with a salesman instead just a plumber.

Went well but I was charged a total of $421 for less than 20 minutes of work by plumber and only material used was about one foot of pipe. Price was outrageous but since I was already on the hook for $69 for call out fee, I was pretty much stuck. I felt taken advantage of especially since price quotes are not given over the phone and you are forced to pay a $69 call out fee regardless of wether you use them or not.

I generally do not post negative reviews but wanted bring up a unique differentiator between Jays Plumbing and their peer group (Plumbing Services) within Angies List. One of my two water heaters has gone bad and has slight leakage/corrosion and needs replacement. As I do with all my home maintenance needs, I reached out to 3-4 vendors that Angies List showed me that provide this service in my neighborhood. My requirement was very simple - A broken water heater, need a quote on a new system and understand warranty and other options for this purchase. I had my selected vendors come in and provide me a quote and explain my options on replacement (one vendor's product vs another, tank vs tankless etc.). Jays Plumbing was the ONLY vendor that made me pay $69 just to make a sales call to my house to come in and provide a quote for a new water heater. When I informed the salesguy that none of the other companies asked me to pay for coming over and giving me a quote, he insisted it’s the company policy. (In all fairness they had stated this policy upfront) The sales guy didn't even have the model number of the new water heater he was proposing in his quote. I paid him the $69 and informed him that I will not work with Jays Plumbing even if your quote was lower than your peers (which was not by a long shot)! I would rather go with the company that's considerate and is not purely money driven instead has my interest also in their mind which is what I ended up doing and was very happy doing so. Will not work with Jays Plumbing nor recommend them. There are several authentic plumbing companies in Angies List, I will pick any one of them over Jays Plumbing.

Great ... Not only fixed the gas leak but also replaced the plastic pipe on the water heater relief valve with copper at no additional charge

The representative Keith was prompt, informative, and polite. He spent time measuring, checking our gas meter and made several recommendations. He also added to the estimate a maintenance plan for two options, which we didn't request or need. When we didn't sign off on the invoice and pick an option (he asked for a decision by the end of the week), he said there was a $69 cost for the estimate. We were never told about this in advance, and I should have objected but I paid it. I don't appreciate being hit with a charge which seems to be a way for them to get some payment for their trouble - either sign a contract right away or pay for the visit? And their estimate was really high - if we could buy our own tankless for $1465, charging us over $4000 for the labor is not at all competitive.

Eric was great! He tried to fix our old pump and when that failed offered us several options for new pumps. He then installed it rather quickly and cleaned up afterwards. Eric was very professional and knowledgeable. Will definitely use Jay's again!

Keith W. was very patient and thorough in figuring out the issue we had--it took several attempts to snake the line and he tested to be sure we'd be good. I even face timed with him as my wife was home alone and uncertain what to do! Above and beyond--thanks Keith!

I was trying to get a plumber out to unclog the only toilet in the house. Most of the "A" rated companies on the Angie's List could not be bothered with a 15 minute job. If the other companies could make it out they wanted over $3500.00. Jay's was very accommodating in scheduling a service call with in a few hours.

When Jay's plumbing arrived the worker was very professional got right to work fixed my two problems. The price was right I was very pleased with Jay's plumbing I would highly recommend if you want a good price and great quality work and fast response

A friend had recommended Jay's plumbing to me . We needed some work done at my elderly mother's home in Naperville. Scheduling was a breeze. My mother was concerned because she was unable to use the stairs to the basement and she wanted to be able to explain everything going on to the plumber . The plumber that came was very kind and knowledgeable and put my mother at ease. The plumber also discovered problems we were unaware of and we were able to get them fixed to avoid future problems. We would definitely use Jay's plumbing in the future and would highly recommend them.

I originally called Jay's based on Angie's list reviews, I needed some work right away for an impulse washer and dryer purchase which led to a whole laundry room remodel job. The washer and dryer were going to be delivered the day after I called Jay's, and they sent someone first thing in the morning. Eric got the job done in time for the washer and dryer delivery! And that isn't all. During the installation of the washer box fixture the water had to be shut off. When it was turned back on, the hot water heater began to leak from a rusty pipe, and plumber Eric called the office and the on call team got the bad water heater replaced that evening as well! While certainly not free, the work was excellent and they help me a bit with a discount. I don't think I would ever call any other company after calling Jay's.

Office was very courteous and professional. We scheduled service to move plumbing for new dishwasher. Plumber arrived on time and was really cool working with my Dad. They presented and discussed several options with pros and cons. They did great work and came back the next day with parts that needed to be ordered to complete the job. Highly recommend.

To be fair, provider told me in advance that it was $69 to come out and that they had a set fee for each type of service, not an hourly fee. I agreed to pay the $69, but I had assumed the fees for service would be reasonable. Not so. The service man who came out was very nice and polite and nicely and politely told me they would be charging approximately $1,000 for the services. I said no thank you, paid him the $69 I had agreed and called another provider who completed the jobs I needed done and charged me just over one-half of what Jay's quoted. The company that completed the job also was able to quote me an approximate price on the telephone so I knew before they came out what I would be paying barring any unusual circumstances. I feel that Jay's could have given me some type of quote over the telephone or they could have at least quoted me a reasonable fee for services when they came out. I feel cheated out of my $69.00. I would not use them again.

Actually the work that they did was good but the routed out my sewer and stuff. It wasn't guaranteed so when it actually backed up again, I would have had to pay for another call for them to come out. So we didn't use them again and wouldn't use them in the future because of that. They charged by the hour. In retrospect it was kind of expensive and there was no warranty.

They did a great job. I don't remember the cost, it was included in a much bigger project. I think the price was fine. It is not hooked up yet so I can't say.

We called Jay's in the morning on Friday, 10/31 after trying to fix our toilet which was leaking from the base since Wednesday of that week. The woman I spoke to was very nice. She offered to have someone come out that afternoon between 2-4. I told her we were expecting company and I'd prefer to put it off until Monday since we have other bathrooms that our guests could use. She then asked if I'd prefer someone come earlier than 2-4, like 12-2. I really appreciated her being so accommodating in getting our issue attention immediately, but I declined her offer and stuck to the Monday option. She said that was no problem! She asked me to text them a picture of the problem area (my husband had already taken the toilet off the bolts to assess) so they could be sure to bring the right tools for the job. Come Monday morning, Mike came to our house shortly after 8am. He quickly assessed the problem and gave me two options for fixing it. I told him we couldn't afford to do any major work at this time. We were concerned it was going to require replacing part of the sub-floor and ripping out the tile, etc. He assured us that the sub-floor looked good and gave us two options. The first option was more affordable and a temporary fix. He said if we had any plans to replace the tile then would be the perfect time to complete the other part of the temporary fix. I told him that was not in our plans, so he told me about the second option which was more expensive, but a more appropriate and non-temporary fix. I told him to go ahead and do that so we could have piece of mind that the issue wouldn't arise again in a few months, years, etc. He quoted the job as two hours and got to work. He worked diligently and got it done in an hour and a half which saved us some $. The toilet has been working great since. No leaks to speak of, and there's a year long warranty on their work just in case. This is the second time we've had Jay's come to our house for different jobs. We've been more than pleased both times! I don't hesitate to recommend Jay's for their excellent work, professionalism and courtesy! I would certainly call them again with any new issues...but, hopefully not anytime soon. :)

Our bathroom basement shower drain backed up so we called Jay's at about 10:30pm. We were told we would receive a callback from the on call plumber. At 11:30pm, we called again as we hadn't heard back. Again we were promised a callback. At 12:30am we gave up. Extremely dissatisfied.
