On the lookout for an older movie, I "Googled" the title yesterday & it came up as one of a combination package of 2 dvd's available "in store only" at Frys Electronics in Lombard IL. The store was closed at the time, so I clicked on the check availability option & nothing happened, I then thought maybe the available "in store only" exempted the item from the "check availability" option. I was working today and thought I'd drive the 5+ miles (out of my way) after to pick up the video. I arrived at the store and initially attempted to locate the movie on my own, when I couldn't locate the movie I went to the "information" desk to ask and was AMAZED at the "associates" attitude. He advised while giggling that it was a new item and they "didn't have it yet & probably won't be getting it in" as he scrolled up & down the store locations pointing out the "N" at the end of each line item. Getting into my car I thought to myself I won't be going back there. It seems SO wrong to me that I go on line, get this information and only after spending all of MY time & using MY gas, - find this out. I'm sure this store doesn't go along with deliquent accounts, late payments, etc., I bet the late fee's and interest charges rival all the others, so I decided to let folks know if you're looking for a particular item, even if it comes up "available" on line, have a backup plan before you go to Fry Electronics. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Told the salesman I wanted a tv that is wifi internet ready that I could watch netflex on. He sold me a Samsung that he said was internet ready and I could watch netflex on. We went to another counter to line up the tv installation at my home. The 2 salesmen took a half hour to enter and give me the checkout receipt for the TV and home installation (They worked hard on it but had trouble entering the info into the computer) . When I took the receipt to the check out line the lady said the receipt was wrong. I stood their for over an hour while 3 people straightened out the paperwork. They did say they were sorry it took so long. When I got home I looked up the Samsung model number online and it was not internet ready. Found out that I needed a wireless LAN adapter and ordered it online from fry's for $79.00. I received the LAN adapter before the installation date. The TV installers from Fry's explained to me that the LAN adapter with this TV would not allow me watch Netflex but I could only update the tv online. They told me to get a Samsung Wifi Blueray for $120.00 and I could Watch Netflex with this (wished the original salesman had told me this). So I went back to Fry's to return the LAN adapter and buy the Samsung WIFI Blueray. The return department said I could not return the LAN because I bought it online. Told him my whole story and he went to his manager to get approval. He came back and told me that the manager said they don't carry the LAN adapter in the store so I will have to contact fry's on the internet and mail it back myself. I left. Went to Best Buy and bought the Samsung WIFI Blueray their. Will never buy from Fry's again.
Description of Work: Consulted with Fry's salesman to buy a TV that I could watch Netflex on. He recommended a TV and I bought it and bought the service to hang the TV on the wall.

I spent 2 hours on hold with different departments on May 15th, trying to get someone out to do this work because we had paid for the 2-year maintenance contract. They told me that it was a corporate decision and I would have to call their headquarters. They would do nothing for me. So I ended up going in and picked up the bulb, brought it home and installed it. The picture on my TV is still unacceptable. I called AGAIN for service on May 18th and spent another 45 minutes on hold. They now tell me I will hear from someone by Wednesday this week, so I am currently waiting to hear back for this service. This is unbelievable customer service and I wouldn't buy a ball point pen from them at this point.
Description of Work: We purchased a 57" Mitsubishi TV on May 13, 2007. The TV stopped working in the first couple of weeks after we purchased it. Because we didn't have a maintenance agreement, they told us they would not fix the TV. We had not even been offered a maintenance agreement when we purchased the TV. They told us to contact the manufacture , which we did and the manufacturer directed us back to Fry's. We went into the store and purchased the 2-year maintenance agreement. On May 13th of this year, the TV went out again. We called for service and they told us a third party maintenance person would call us. No one called us, so I called again on the 15th. They told us that no one was going to call us because the projector bulb was what was causing the TV not to work and it was up to the consumer to come to the store and pick up the bulb.
