It didn't go well. Yes, it looks like they did their job but they made a mess. They started in June and I just had them out again the other day (Feb. 2016). They dug all around the inside and outside of my house about 2 or 3 feet down. They put a new sup pump in the inside but did not put one on the outside. The technical workmanship was good. The cleanup was bad. They must have come back back 15 times within a 9 month span to review and correct my cleaning complaints.

We called a few companies to get quotes on installing drain tile/sump in the unfinished basement of our newly acquired older home, including EverDry. Admittedly, what EverDry claims to do looks good on paper. However, in my opinion, the sales person was nothing short of a con artist. Even if he wasn't an actual con artist, he definitely knew nothing about evaluating a foundation. His entire pitch was scare tactic after scare tactic ("I hope you got this house at a good price given how bad the foundation is." or "Did you see all this mold?" to get us to buy his service, which was 2.5X higher than the next closest bid. I'm pretty handy and do a lot around the house, and we had a pre-closing inspection by someone I trust, but even so, I felt the need to hire a structural engineer based on what this guy said (see my review for Waldman Engineering). According to the engineer, aside from the few normal cracks you'd see in a 50 year old foundation, there was nothing wrong. In fact, we commented on how foundations aren't normally built to wheat we had (10 inch wall thickness). The "mold" the salesman "discovered" to was actually dried concrete on underside of the first floor sub-floor that remained when the builders reused the concrete pouring form boards to build the actual structure. Overall, it was a horrendous experience that unnecessarily made me spend an additional $600 or so on the engineer so I could sleep at night. The salesman did show up on time, however, for what that's worth.

I am a single female homeowner and I feel this company took advantage of that. First of all, during the process of the work they did, a lot of damage was done to my home and possessions (both interior and exterior. ) I was told to move everything in the basement about 3 feet from the walls. I moved everything at least 6 feet, if not more. They were supposed to cover my belongings during the work, which they did but not completely. Several of my items were covered in mud or sitting in water. Some things completely ruined by this. They removed the screens from the basement windows, to open them during the work. They put their heavy tools on top of the screens and did damage. Carpets stained, butcher block table stained and warped from the standing water, boxes of possessions in standing water; ruined. On the exterior, they got their large truck stuck in my yard and dug a 2 foot deep hole. They also drove over several parts of my lawn with their truck leaving damage. They also damaged the siding on the front of the house. None of these things they told me about up front. The yard damage they admitted to after being pointed out by me. The siding damage they still deny to this day despite one of the crew admitting it to my neighbor. I got the run around from the project manager and the company manager. Finally I was told that they would replace the siding and bring top soil and grass seed for me to fix the lawn. I made the mistake of giving them the final payment prior to them fulfilling their promises. I then left messages, inquiring why their promises had not been met, without response. I did finally recieve a response when I stopped payment on the check (half the cost of the job.) That is also when I called the village to confirm that they really did get a permit (now I am questioning everything about this company.) They did get a permit, but did not call for an inspection. Now I had to take a half of a day off of work to be home for an inspection they should have done. Thankfully it passed the final inspection, but they were supposed to call for one mid project prior to pouring the concrete. So, now I just have to hope that what lies under the concrete will protect my basement. Since I don't trust this company, I will have to worry when it rains or snow melts (half the purpose of doing this and spending so much money was to not worry about it anymore.) Finally, in the end when they did not get their money, they came through on the promise of fixing the siding and bringing seed and soil. I was also given free annual service inspection on they system for as long as I am in the house. I understand that when you are having work done on your home that things may get messy. I never expected things to be ruined. If I had been informed that they were not going to protect my possessions, I would have moved more valuable things out of there completely. I also feel that when spending that kind of money, the consumer should be respected, informed and appreciated. I would not recommend this company to anyone, unless you personally are home and watching them work the whole time.

I had to argue with them to come out and provide an estimate. Their phone person said that they require the husband and wife to be present. My wife works a job where if it is sunny, she works. That makes it very hard to schedule their visit. Finally got them to agree to a visit, three weeks in the future. The day of the visit came and went without any contact from the company. That was July 2. Today, I received a phone call from them saying that they left a confirmation call on July 1 and that they would like to reschedule for July 27. I had access to all phones that they could have called on July 1 and I never received a confirmation call. Bottom line, the only reason why I called Everdry in the first place is that a neighbor recommended them. Unless they pull a rabbit out of a hat, I doubt that they will be seeing my business.

We did not use their service for this reason and I have several other companies coming out to provide free estimates to do the work. The "D" rating is for the misleading information on their website regarding "free" inspections.
Description of Work: The website says free inspections. I called to arrange for an estimate to fix a basement leak in our condo building and was told that any multi-owner building would be charged $300 dollars for an estimate. If all of the condo owners could be present at the time of the inspection, the fee would be waived or the fee could be applied to any work we contracted them to do. Considering we are getting multiple companies to quote for the work, and that there is no guarantee we would use this company, $300 dollars was more than we wanted to pay for an estimate. Requiring me to coordinate the schedules of all our unit owners to be present to look at a leak in the basement seemed silly as well.

Used them about 7 years ago and with the bad reviews felt I had to chime in. I had them install interior drain tile and an exhaust dehumidifier installed. That process went very good. What these guys are really good at is their after market warranty work. Had a few issues and they were out quickly and fixed it with no questions asked. These were issues that happened years after the initial install and they fixed it for free. I would recommend them.

Too much trouble to work with them. I don't trust companies that have to put all that much pressure on for a sale. Their product should speak for itself.
Description of Work: Just called to get a simple estimate, and it turned out to be a huge production for nothing. Unbelievable. Long process of sales techiques that seemed to be designed to wear you down with fear and then over charge you. I can;t believe this person gave me an estimate for 38000.00 to install drain tiles. And it took me over an hour to drag that out of him.

They did very well! They came on time, and the system works as it was advertised. The follow up maintenance has also been very helpful. We had a big rainstorm recently and our basement was perfectly dry. They also brought a pretty full crew and everyone in the crew was knowledgeable about what was being done. They put an inside system in and had to break up the concrete, so it got pretty dusty. They cleaned up pretty well, but there was still some excess dust left over. We are very pleased with their service!

I have had nothing but problems with this job. I still have water seeping through the walls. They waterproofed to the drywall and not to the foundation. They have admitted they should have done some things differently. They have said they would come out and fix the issues, but want me to pay for the materials which I think is not a professional way to handle business.

They did an outstanding job. Cleaned up the floor better than how they found it. All the work was done as described and warranties have been honored to date. The job was quoted and was very expensive, but cheap compared to the added value to our home. They offer a lifetime warranty that is transferable. There is a minimal annual cost, but the value on resale will be huge, according to Realtors I have spoken with.
Description of Work: We had an unusable basement in a house built in 1920. Ever Dry came out and gave us a very detailed estimate, which was way more than we thought it was going to be. After they explained the scope and warranty, we decided to go with it. Boy were we glad we did! They dug out the outside of the foundation and put tile drain in and then waterproofed the walls. They back filled and left the area as they found it. Inside the basement they jack hammered the entire parameter of the basement and installed tiles with wall sleeves to ensure any seepage from above ground would go into the drain tiles They then dug out a sump hole and installed the pump. It has been 15 years now and we have had to call them twice. Both times they were here within an hour. The first time they discovered an area that needed to be retouched. They did this at no charge, even though it was not part of the original quote. The second time, the pump went out. It was pouring rain and they showed up within 15 minutes with a new sump pump. That was 10 years ago. To this day, we have not had any problems, in fact my home office is now down in the basement, that is how dry it is. There is no oder of mold, etc. anymore either.

They were initially responsive in terms of getting back to me with scheduling an appointment, but the trouble started there...This company's business practices are a bit off. The woman on the phone insisted my husband be home when they came out to do the inspection and estimate. I told her we would make the effort, but have very different schedules. When the guy finally came out to check things out, that was the first question out of his mouth when he got in my door. I said no, he was working and the attitude started there. I told him it was Ok, that I didn't need my husband to make these decisions. He was very rude with me and said "Oh, so you're saying you can cut me a check right here and now without him?!" He was very accusatory and unprofessional during the whole visit. It turned out to be more of a sales pitch on the company than a genuine inspection of my particular issue...and at the end of the very long "presentation" he quizzed me on how much I remembered that he told me! While he never had a confirmed recommendation for our particular situation. He said he wanted to go out to his truck to call his boss and make sure he had it right. I told him I really needed to get back to work and he could call me with the estimate later or tomorrow. He got even more hostile and said "well we'll have to reschedule anyway because your husband's not home!" At that point I told him that I thought his company's "policy" was sexist and very assumptive about the way couples make decisions. This was a disaster and waste of my time from start to finish and ultimately I felt his weak recommendation was very "one size fits all". He never did call me with that estimate even though he had all the possible information he would ever need to get it to me. I will never use this company going forward after being treated like that.

I had an appt. scheduled for a Monday evening. Sue tried to contact me on Saturday to confirm the appt. and was unable to reach me. I returned her call Monday morning to confirm the Monday evening appt. and she told me she does the schedule 1 day in advance and we would need to reschedule. I didn't really want to reschedule but I understood the need to confirm and agreed to a rescheduled time. Then Sue asked if my wife would be present for the appt. I said I wasn't sure, but it didn't matter because I would be there. She said "We ask that both homeowners be present; will your wife be there?" I said if available, she would be. She said she didn't want to waste her guys time if my wife wouldn't be there (implying a meeting with me would be a waste of time). I had enough at that point, and thanked her and said goodbye. I understand free estimates are a lot of work for contractors, but they shouldn't advertise them and look for ways to cancel if the schedule becomes tight.

The quality of their waterproofing work was good, they were disappointing in the legal aspect.
Description of Work: Had problem with flooded basement after I purchased the house. An attorney told me to hire them even though they charged around 8k, and others charged 4k but thy are more expensive then others b/c they were good in court and the extra money would cover court costs and evidence, including photos, but they came and only took one picture for me. They put a wall in the basement, and did the outside perimeter, and put in a sump pump, and 2 dry wells. They did what they were supposed to do. All the photos ended up being lost and my lawyer told them not to worry about coming to court. I never had the opportunity to go to trial b/c we had no pictures from ever dry.

They did a great job. They were able to complete 95% of the job in a week but were delayed because of another project that I had to finish. Although the workers were polite and on time, their work was sloppy. They hardly cleaned up after themselves. In fact, just as they were ready to leave the site, I had to remind them that clean up was part of the contract. They didn't carry with them cleaning equipment, instead they used my mop, which was too inadequate for the job. I also had to point out several unfinished jobs like caulking outside and windows. They forgot to reinstall storm windows. And, when they returned, they reinstalled storm windows backwards. With the first rainfall, we had new seepage. As a result, they had to come back out to make new repairs in a couple of weeks after the main job was completed. A foul odor now comes and goes. They didn't deodorize the basement. Overall I'm dissatisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Contract called for waterproofing my basement and eliminating slight water seepage by sealing outside coves, caulking foundation windows, installing E-Z Breathe unit, deodorizing foundation, installing Modern Drainage System outside where necessary, reinforcing foundation cracks where required, filtering subfloor system, and installing submersible pressure relief system.

A TOTALLY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. EVERDRY USES VERY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE BY CALLING FREQUENTLY AND HAVING THEIR WORKERS ARRIVE ON TIME. THEY EXPLAINED IN DETAIL EVERY ASPECT OF WHAT WOULD DO, AND WHAT THEY DID ONCE THE WORK WAS COMPLETED. I HAD THE WORK DONE IN DECEMBER 2003 AND IN JANUARY I WAS A LITTLE CONCERNED THAT THE BASEMENT WAS NOT AS DRY AS I HAD EXPECTED. I CONTACTED EVERDRY AND THEY SENT SOMEONE OUT WITHIN A FEW DAYS TO TAKE A LOOK. THEY EXPLAINED THAT MY TOTAL SATISFACTION WAS THEIR GOAL AND THEY SENT A CREW OUT OF MY HOME TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS IN THE SYSTEM AND TO LAY AN ADDITIONAL DRAINAGE TILE STRING DOWN THE CENTER OF MY BASEMENT. THIS ADDITIONAL WORK WAS DONE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO ME.
Description of Work: A TRENCH WAS EXCAVATED NEXT TO THE INSIDE WALLS OF MY HOMES BASEMENT. DRAINAGE TILE WAS THEN LAID AND THE FLOOR WAS CONCRETED OVER. A SUMP PUMP PIT WAS DUG AND THE DRAINAGE TILE EXITED WITHIN THE PIT. PVC PIPE WAS CONNECTED TO THE SUMP PUMP AND EXTENDED OUTSIDE MY HOME SO THAT WATER ENTERING THE PIT WOULD BE EJECTED OUT AND AWAY FROM THE BASEMENT.

THE BEST PART ABOUT IT IS THE LIFETIME WARRANTY IF I PAY A SMALL YEARLY SERVICE FEE. THEY WERE VERY POLITE AND DID MORE THAN THEY ORIGINALLY PLANNED FOR THE SAME PRICE. THEY WERE RESPONSIVE ABOUT COMING BACK TO MAKE A SMALL REPAIR BECAUSE WE DIDN''T REALIZE WE WERE GETTING WATER IN THAT AREA. THEY WEREN''T THE BEST AT CLEANUP OR PUTTING THINGS BACK TO WHAT THEY ORIGINALLY WERE. HOWEVER, THEY DID COME BACK AND GET MOST THINGS BACK IN ORDER. I AM WAITING FOR ANOTHER BIG RAIN, BUT SO FAR SO GOOD.

SALES PITCH TO DO BOTH THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR OF OUR BASEMENT. SAID THAT THE ONLY WAY HE COULD STAND BY HIS WORK WAS TO DO BOTH INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR WATERPROOFING. WE FELT PRETTY CONFIDENT THAT WE KNEW THAT ONLY THE EXTERIOR NEEDED TO BE DONE. THEY WOULD NOT GIVE US AN ESTIMATE ON ONLY EXTERIOR WORK. THEY CALLED BACK ABOUT A WEEK LATER AND THEY CHANGED/LOWERED THEIR ESTIMATE. IT REALLY BOTHERED ME THAT WE DID NOT GET THAT ESTIMATE ON OUR FIRST VISIT.

WHEN WE CALLED FOR THE ESTIMATE APPOINTMENT WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD TAKE AN HOUR AND OUR APPOINT WAS SET FOR 8PM. IT TOOK OVER TWO AND WE HAD TO PUSH THE REP TO WRAP-UP. THE PRESENTATION METHOD USED WAS TO STEER THE CUSTOMER TO SELECT A SPECFIC PRODUCT. FIRST THEY TALK ABOUT A $25K OPTION THAT INVOLVES EXCAVATING THE ENTIRE PERIMETER OF YOUR HOUSE FIVE FEET OUT, REMOVING EXISTING CONCRETE, STAIRS, LANDSCAPING, ETC. THEN THEY GO INTO GREAT DETAIL ABOUT TWO OTHER SYSTEMS THAT WEREN''T RIGHT FOR US - WHY? THEN FINALLY THEY TELL US ABOUT THE OPTION THAT IS RIGHT FOR OUR SITUATION, THE COST OF WHICH IS IN EXCESS OF $12K. WHEN I CALLED FOR THE APPOINTMENT, I SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF THE COST COULD POSSIBLY EXCEED $10K AND WAS TOLD NO BUT THAT THE REP WOULD HAVE TO EXPLAIN THE DETAIL... AND BOY DID HE! THIS DID NOT FEEL LIKE A REPUTABLE COMPANY. THEY SEEMED MORE CONCERNED ABOUT SELLING A SPECIFIC SERVICE THAN MEETING OUR NEEDS.

THE PRICE QUOTED WILL DETER MANY HOMEOWNERS FROM USING THE COMPANY. THEY WILL BE CONSIDERABLY MORE THAN OTHERS IN THE BUSINESS. PRICE DROPPED WHEN INFORMED THEY WERE NOT IN RUNNING DUE TO PRICE. WORKMEN ARE VERY FRIENDLY BUT THEY TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS. I WAS INFORMED JOB WOULD TAKE A WEEK. IT WAS COMPLETED IN 3 DAYS. LANDSCAPING LEFT VERY NEAT. I AM PLEASED WITH THE JOB.

THE COMPANY FOCUSES ON EXTERIOR DRAINAGE SYSTEMS. MY PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY CRACKS AND FOUNDATION ISSUES. THEY ARENT APPROPRIATE FOR MY ISSUE, AND WOULD HAVE SAVED ME TIME BY TELLING ME ABOUT THEIR PROCESS WHEN I FIRST CALLED THEM.
