I called Pete based on a few referrals in my neighborhood. He initially put me off due ro vacation, which I understand. When he finally came out a couple of weeks later, he seemed professional and courteous, although I sensed it would be a while before he would actually be able to start a project. 8 weeks later, I have still not even received an estimate! I put off talking to others because I loved his work, but I have now wasted 8-10 weeks! I had hoped for the project to be well underway by now. I definitely would not trust him to get the job done in a timely manner.
Description of Work: Basic basement finish, family room shelving, cabinet & fireplace update, new cabinets in bathroom - so a big project!

BUYER BEWARE! Hired this company to install kitchen cabinets in my home. A job that was quoted to take 3 days took 1 1/2 months. The problems are too numerous to list but know that Custom Cabinet Connections made errors in the installation, had to reorder cabinets 2 times due to installation & measurement errors, never cleaned up after themselves and after I paid in full has invoiced me 2 subsequent times on charges that should have been included in the installation (i.e. covering the floors during installation, providing a counter top sample to view). The process to get to a finished kitchen was extremely difficult and so was dealing with the owner. He was unprofessional, rude and verbally threatened me against writing any negative reviews on him. I cannot forewarn you strongly enough - DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Custom Cabinet Connections will take your money and provide you with poor service and poor quality installation. Yes, the cabinets are made by the Amish, but the installation was so hacked up the quality cabinets suffered.
Description of Work: I hired Custom Cabinet Connections to do a complete kitchen remodel.

In early May of 2016, I paid this contractor 2000. We had emailed and met in person twice regarding a kitchen remodel (once for him to measure my kitchen and the second time to review the initial and very basic drawings). In the beginning, he was helpful and eager to earn my business. With a few exceptions of rescheduling meeting days/times, he seemed solid. After I paid him the deposit, I was told he would revise the drawings to meet my expectations, create a detailed budget, provide sample stain colors to match wood I had brought in (to confirm he could recreate the look I wanted) and finalize a contract for me to sign. I was told this would take approximately one week from the time I sent him an email with all of my suggestions/changes to the original drawings. That email was sent mid May. Within the next few months, I contacted him approximately every 2 weeks asking about my project, wondering where my samples were, etc. In the beginning, he was apologetic yet always had an excuse. "Sorry, I was on vacation, sorry been busy with my sons baseball." After a while, I was crystal clear with my unhappiness and flat out said "I am not okay with this, I want the information you promised me and that I PAID for". Then, instead of excuses I starting getting no responses at all. On July 11th, I sent an email telling him that I expected things to move forward by July 25th and asked him to confirm the remodel dates as I was hiring another contractor to redo my wood floors. Again, zero response. So, on July 25th, I emailed and texted him and told him that I wished to move on with another contractor and that I wanted a refund. I agreed to pay for the initial drawings which probably cost around 200 dollars (I'm not sure as he will not share receipts with me). He was mad but agreed to the refund and to mail me my sample wood, he left a VM stating such (that I still have). Two weeks later, I had not received it. I texted him and again he said "I will do it, I'm just busy." Another week later, I emailed him again and he wrote me back these words "in San Diego for three weeks". At this point I was angry. I told him I wanted my money back and I sent him a Chase Quick Pay Link. I also told him I would report him to the BBB. He emailed me back saying "go ahead, see what happens" So, I did and I am still waiting to hear back from them. This man is unprofessional, unethical and narcissistic. He even went all crazy accusing me of going to "HIS granite place" without "HIS permission" to get prices. 1) He does not own a granite place, its a public company that all contractors in the area use 2) He actually told me to go there to look at color choices I didn't even get prices! 3) Why would he care unless he was scamming his customers? The man did not construct anything or do any work on my kitchen yet he believes he deserves to keep my 2000 DOLLARS!!!!. He paid an architect to do drawings which I said I was willing to pay for! Then he had the nerve to say that he didn't have to do anything I asked of him in a timely manner because my kitchen remodel wasn't until November. 1) It was supposed to be October, that's how incompetent he was 2) He repeatedly lied saying he was working on it and would send asap (I have every text and email stating this). I understand the deposit was also to "hold my spot" But it was made in good faith that he would do the work I asked of him and tell me the truth. I do not deserve to lose 2000 dollars because this man is an incompetent liar. Please do yourself a favor. Find an honest hard-working contractor who deserves your money. While this man's cabinets are nice to look it (the Amish make them, not him), it in no way makes up for his lack of professionalism and ethics. Buyers BEWARE!
