They pulled all permits which is never easy, started the project as soon as they could and worked on it everyday until completed. I was kept in constant contact as each trade performed on schedule as planned. This was a large and detailed project that went smoothly to the end. We dealt directly with the owner an his excellent supervisor, Bruce. This company is easy to work with and that was a pleasant surprise compared to my other construction projects. Highly recommend them for a beautiful and professional job. They have a great attitude and made superior service look easy.

It went great...Scott Wendel was able to line up everyone from the carpenters, to the cement company, to the elctrical like clock work. Everything went very smooth and we were consulted as to what we could/could not do as well as ideas to save moneyt and still get the job done that we were looking for. Scott also helped us design a new custom wood door to tie-in with the overall look of our 100 year old home in Wheaton. Everything was taken care of and went very smooth! We would recommend Scott and Blue Sky to anyone. The costs were very in-line...

Blue Sky was one of three bids received; was not the lowest; however, the combo of the garage and the ultimate driveway paving was in combo the best price. Blue Sky is very professional and their work was top notch. The company handled the permitting process as well as all construction details. Excellent experience.

Other than level of communication dipping after contract was signed, overall experience was good since the final deliverable was high quality.

The repair looks perfect. You can not see where any damage was done to the garage. We paid much less than our insurance company estimated. Both the estimate are repair (two separate trips) were completed in less than two weeks.

Gave me price over phone. Came when they said they would. Took all garbage with them including the old opener. Programmed keypad, all remotes and wall pad. Checked that door working properly before leaving.

I liked that the work was done on a timely basis and on budget. They did a very nice job and were excellent on keeping us informed. And I think the quality of the work was excellent.

They were overall good. We had to call them a little bit more but the work was great. Their prices were very good; we did get a lot of quotes and they came out the best. They did a great clean up job and left everything looking great.

What I most liked about them was that they are very thorough and meticulous in their work. They were great about responding to our questions and were easy to contact on the phone. It's one of those companies that is recommendable.

I was very impressed with the whole experience. They were very professional.

Communication was the major issue. Blue Sky (BS) started on 10/11/06 (teardown) and finished on 3/22/07 (final inspection) to complete a two-car garage. The original anticipated completion date was 11/30/06. We experienced problems like being awakened at 6AM to move the car from the driveway because the concrete guys decided to pour (unbeknownst to any of us). And getting a ticket for parking in the street even though the village had been notified by BS (they actually hadn't). We never talked to the superintendent, but not for lack of trying, and they never figured out that my cell phone was a better alternative to reach me. BS is not a custom builder (unless by custom you mean standard) as anything unusual was a major project. And the subs for electrical were dim bulbs that couldn't coordinate their part in the effort. We paid a premium price for a mediocre job.

The quote process was great along with the fact they provided a number of potential options and ideas. They worked with us to ensure that the project stayed within our budget. The timing for the completion of the project was delayed several weeks due to weather and local building inspections that were not performed timely; of which it was not their fault. They were fairly good about keeping us informed of the progress and the schedule. There was one mistake made the installers on the trim and gutters. They were out within a couple of days to replace all items to the agreed on specs. They did not try and increase the price or try and change anything. They were great to do business with and wish that they did more than garages.

Our experience dealing with the sales guy and office staff was great. They returned phone calls promptly, were available for an evening appointment, and spent a lot of time walking us through the process and preparing a quote for us. We had a really good feeling about them and wanted to hire them, but they were unable to perform the garage demolition as we were hoping it could be performed. It was an odd-ball demo job, as many other contractors told us, and Blue Sky indicated that they weren't comfortable taking it on as they didn't have experience with the particular odd-ball aspect and they didn't want to do something poorly. They suggested an alternate means of doing the work, but we decided to go with someone who could do it as we wanted. I was impressed with their integrity and honesty.

I SIMPLY CANNOT SAY ENOUGH POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT DEALING WITH BLUE SKY IN GENERAL, AND WITH SCOTT WENDELL IN PARTICULAR. HE PROVIDED POLITE, KNOWLEDGEABLE SERVICE ABOVE AND BEYOND THE BASIC CONSTRUCTION. HE WAS ALWAYS PROMPTLY AVAILABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND ADDRESS CONCERNS. HE ALSO RECOMMENDED A NUMBER OF OTHER CONTRACTORS FOR ENHANCEMENTS THAT HIS COMPANY DOES NOT PROVIDE DIRECTLY, AND HIS RECOMMENDATIONS WERE UNIFORMLY EXCELLENT. Update from 2012: A severe windstorm smashed several large branches weighing hundreds of pounds each onto the roof of the garage. A number of the aluminum roof vents were destroyed, leaving holes open to the weather. Blue Sky had a representative on-site within forty-eight hours to replace them, at very reasonable cost. The garage roof itself is so well-built that it suffered no damage at all. Another excellent experience with Blue Sky Builders!

BLUE SKY IS A GREAT COMPANY. OVERALL, WE HAD A PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WITH THEM FROM START TO FINISH. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. THEY DID A FABULOUS JOB FINDING AND MATCHING THE COLOR OF OUR HOUSE'S VINYL SIDING, WHICH WAS DISCONTINUED. ALSO, THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB AT MATCHING THE DETAILS FROM OUR HOUSE AND OLD GARAGE, INCORPORATING THEM INTO THE NEW GARAGE; SOMETHING WE HAD TO DO SINCE WE ARE IN A HISTORICAL DISTRICT. WE DID HAVE ONE ISSUE WITH THE SUBCONTRACTOR FOR THE GARAGE DOOR INSTALLER BUT THEY HANDLED IT TO OUR SATISFACTION.

THEY WERE THERE THE SAME DAY CALLED. VERY HELPFUL IN CHOOSING THE CORRECT DOOR.
