Berg Roofing and Home Improvements

We placed our house up for sale and we had a contract in just 6 days. When the inspector came they stated that we had hail damage to the roof. We had 6 people out for estimates and my husband liked Brian Berg the best. It is a family owned business. We were in a crunch for time so he came out, gave an estimate and stated he could have it done in ONE WEEK. In LESS than a week our roof was done. He took no deposit, no payment until AFTER the job was done and he could come out and inspect it and know that we were happy with the job. People just don't do that anymore. We are moving to our new home in 2 weeks and I would like to get the gutter guards put on....I will be calling Brian Berg. Such a pleasure doing business with this company.

First off, let me start by saying this is my first review, ever. I had a great experience working with John from Berg Roofing. He responded to my inquiry immediately and was out to do an estimate a few days later. He presented the quote with fixed costs, the different options for shingles, and additional options. He was very knowledgable on everything. I felt absolutely no pressure to get the additional options, and he suggested the mid-grade shingle vs the high-end one based on what he felt was best for my house. I did end up getting some of the additional options, mainly because the base quote he provided was much less than what I expected (I didn't even waste time getting other quotes...I asked around to a few friends and family members who agreed that this was a great price). Once we got the contract signed and shingle/gutter color picked out, he gave me about a 2-4 week lead time. We just about hit 4 weeks when they were able to get out to my house (lots of rain early on). I left for work at 6:30am, got home around 5:30pm and they were just cleaning up. They even worked around a few rain showers throughout the day, so it would've been even quicker had it not been for mother nature. You couldn't even tell anyone was here, they cleaned up everything very well. The roof and gutters both look GREAT. I'm a single female so anytime the need for a large repair comes up, I dread having to research companies. John made this very easy for me and I couldn't be happier with the job the crew did.

Working with Berg was wonderful. John Oros was happy to meet and discuss the order at any time. The men who showed up to complete the job were thorough and efficient. You always hope that the project will turn out as you envision and this project turned out even better than I had envisioned.

John showed exemplary customer service! He remained in contact with me throughout the whole experience. Also, his estimate and diagnosis of the issue was honest! In the end, it wasn't my roof but it's ventilation. John provided me with a reference for the needed service. Overall thank you John for the excellent customer service! It went very well. The roofer (Jack) was very professional and got right to work, replacing the shingles. I was impressed with Berg Roofing. I called on Saturday one of the sales people there (John) and thought it would take a few days to get this done. But he kept me in contact and they were able to fit me that Sunday to replace the shingles. Luckily I had leftover shingles from the complete roof job that was done on my house about 5 years ago.

The past weekend many homes in the area had damage due to unusually high winds. We lost some shingles in our roof and made calls to a few roofers in the area. Everyone was inundated by calls, 40-60 deep. John at Berg responded very quickly to my inquiry and was really easy to work with, despite the influx of work. They even drove by the house to scout out the situation and was able to get someone out to repair our roof within 3 hours of our call. Jack did a good job patching the roof, arriving with the necessary materials already and despite doing this work constantly for 3 days straight was friendly, professional, and efficient. We're pleased with the work and how fast they were able to help us out.

It went well. John Oros was our sales representative and project manager. He was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. The work was done in a timely manner and the installers did and excellent job and were professional.

Had several companies out for our decorative kitchen window but Berg Roofing and Home Improvements stood out with their expertise in custom windows. They also replaced a basement window that had not been in proper working order. Their measurements are always very accurate. They also cleaned up after themselves. The workers were always very considerate, very careful and respected our home. I would recommend them to anyone for windows.

the job and responsiveness of the company was professional and the roof looks great. The job ended up taking 3 days due to a storm system that moved through in the middle of it. because it was in between the job I didn't have gutters during a heavy rain. This upset me because I feared too much water next to my home and potential foundation damage (I have had foundation leakage issues in the past). When I expressed my concern Bob from Berg came out personally to review the situation. I also called the foundation repair company I had used in the past and they told me that there was nothing to be concerned about with 1 rain storm. So my concerns were overblown. Despite that, Bob STILL took some discounts to the cost of service which I appreciated. Essentially even though I was wrong, they treated me the customer like I was right and made me feel valued which makes all the difference. Based on this I have confidence they will stand behind their work for sure. I would use Berg again and would refer them. The service was great and I enjoyed NOT having to clean out my gutters this fall!

Tom was great he explained everything from the material to the process to us in great detail. He stayed on track with the time frame that was originally given to us. The day the roof was done Berg's guys arrived before 7am and got right to work at 7am. They had the old roof torn off before 10:30am. Materials arrived on a flat bed truck and were up put up on the roof by a crane. The dumpster arrived and all the debris and garbage was loaded in. It is now 2pm and my roof is complete, all of the nails were picked up from the driveway, grass and deck. This has been a great experience for such major work on a home. Thank you.

Dan responded to my call for an estimate and was able to stop by the next day to look at the roof and provide a quote the same day. He used satellite data to determine our roof size, which was very impressive. The quote was very competitive and he came prepared with a nice marketing package that explained the services Berg Roofing would perform, their guarantees and what to expect. I had a number of post estimate questions for Dan on the installation process. He returned my calls immediately and clearly has a command of the roofing trade. We wanted to see the shingles we liked on another roof and Dan was able to supply us with an adequate number of addresses close by so we could make a better informed decision. Installation took 2 days. The crew arrived early in the day and were very professional in how they approached and completed the job. Very impressive! They also did a great job cleaning up. We are extremely happy with the finished product and would not hesitate to recommend Berg Roofing to any of our neighbors.

The price was right, and the job was done quickly and cleanly. But, I noticed several days after the work was completed that a prominent shingle was not nailed-down properly and was sticking up. I called the company, and several workers fixed it. Now, several weeks after that, I've noticed another shingle sticking up. My feeling is, once a roof-job is done, the homeowner should be able to feel confident about the quality of the work and not give it another thought. Now, I'm wondering about the workmanship of the roofing job on the house, and how these shingles are going to hold up especially in a strong wind or the other occasional extreme conditions we get in the Chicago area.

The roof looks great on both the house and shed. These guys completed the job in one day and did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves and I would give them an excellent rating.

Excellent! Showed up at 7 am on date given to us by the Tom who did the estimate. Was told job would be completed in 1 to 1 and half days. All completed and cleaned up by 1:00 pm on second day!!!! Tarps laid around entire house and on top of all shrubbery. Rolled the premises with magnetic roller to pick up nails. I had a question early on second day but Tom was unable to stop by so he sent Dan. Question answered promptly. All went well. We had Berg install new siding, gutters, soffits last fall. We called Tom for roof. Highly recommended!!!!!

The rep who came out was very friendly, very professional. He was quick, went back to his car and provided a full written detailed estimate within minutes. They were a bit higher than two other companies I had out, and we ended up going with someone else on this job, but I would definitely call them again.

The job went well and the house looks great after the work. They were responsive to us and our needs.

Work was done in a day. Showed up on time with a very professional crew. Protected shrubbery and plants aroind the house and garage. Clean up was excellent, roof looks great. Dumpster was picked up the next day.

Great experience with everyone involved. John explained the products and the work that would be done. He even came out again to help me determine what the best color choice would be. I appreciated that very much. The crew was on time, actually early and worked 12 hours and came back the next day for a few hours to finish up. They cleaned up both days. There was no messing around these guys worked and were very thorough. The owner of the company stopped by the first day to check on things and to talk a bit. I appreciated that. Obviously he cares what is going on. Materials were all delivered on schedule throughout the day, dumpster was dropped by and next day picked up early in the morning. I was very impressed at how everything was choreographed very smoothly and a job well done. Thank you. It's nice to get great service when you hire a contractor for work on your home. I highly recommend Berg Roofing. I will definitely use them again for roof and windows when it's time.
