Chris Cosimo from A Step Ahead Flooring installed our hardwood floors in our custom home last year. I inadvertently plugged an air freshener upside down over the hallway floor. Needless to say I had to have a portion of the hardwood floor refinished. Chris was awesome! I called him and within a few days he came out to repair the floor. We decided at this time not to do the floors as more than we expected but would highly recommend him and bummed we cannot do at this time.

It all went off without a hitch. They were there on time when they said they would. I've used them a few other times in the past, and all the jobs turned out great.

The job referenced took place in Palatine in early 2016. The client requested quarter-sawn oak in 4" plank widths, which is a premium product. Chris was able to locate the material, measure, install, stain and finish in a timely manner. The end result is spectacular. I have used Chris for numerous other jobs and given his name out to everyone looking for a professional job. He is reasonably priced but won't be the cheapest quote, but you often get what you pay for and with Chris if there is any follow up concerns---he is on top of it quickly and rectifies the issue to the customer's complete satisfaction. An outstanding company all around.

We added an area of hardwood to our already finished basement after installing a fifteen foot walk up bar. Chris removed the carpeted area, installed new hardwood and then finished it in a custom stain. This took a couple trips and many walks up and down our carpeted steps. His crew took the time to cover the stairs and set up their saw in the garage. There was virtually no mess in our home! We are extremely happy with the outcome and get many compliments! We are always happy to pass his name to others. We have a huge open area floor plan upstairs (about 2,000 sf of hardwood flooring) and plan to use his services when we refinish it next year. We know he does a great job, with no mess and a very fair price.

Our experience with Astepaheadflooring.inc was fantastic! The crew showed up on time each day fully equipped and ready to go. They removed carpet, hauled all trash to the dumpster and properly prepared the house for installation. The floors were installed on schedule with beautiful red oak. They securely closed off the work space with plastic protecting the rest of our home from dust and debris. The owner came out one evening to discuss costum color and apply 3 options to our floor. We chose a Beachwood Gray type color and this was made by the owner using two colors to create a stain that was an amazing match to what we envisioned.The crew worked quickly and accurately to get the job done and our home back to everyday living. WE USED A STEP AHEAD FLOORING TO INSTALL NEW HARDWOOD FLOORS ON THE ENTIRE FIRST FLOOR OF OUR 1970 4 BEDROOM, 2 1/2 REHAB PROJECT HOME. THIS WAS A TRICKY JOB BECAUSE THERE WAS MARBLE ON THE WHOLE FIRST FLOOR THAT HAD TO BE REMOVED. WITH THAT REMOVAL WE FOUND 6-8 INCHES OF CONCRETE UNDERNEATH. CHRIS THE OWNER AND INSTALLER WAS ABLE TO LEVEL OUT THE FLOOR BECAUSE A LOT OF CONCRETE STUCK TO THE MARBLE TILES. WE CHOSE 4 INCH RED OAK HARD WOOD FLOORING AND IT TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL!!! ON THE SECOND FLOOR OF OUR HOUSE THERE WAS 2 1/2 INCH OAK THAT WE HAD REFINISHED AND STAINED TO MATCH NEW 1ST FLOOR. THERE IS A SEAMLESS TRANSITION THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE AND THE RESULTS LOOK AMAZING. CHRIS AND A STEP AHEAD WAS HELPFUL, PATIENT, PROMPT AND WITH HELPING US GET THE FLOORING PART OF THIS HUGE PROJECT DONE SO WE COULD MOVE IN OUR DREAM HOUSE! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A STEP AHEAD
