A Step Ahead Flooring

Chris and his team were very punctual. They did a great job removing and disposing the old floor. The new floor was installed and finished within a few days and it looks beautiful. They installed a new oak vent to match the floor, and Chris spent extra time sealing the duct that feeds the vent. I recommend A Step Ahead, and will call them next time we need floors replaced or refinished.

Chris Cosimo and his team did an excellent job! Tom, the estimator, was easy to work with and provided an estimate that was very close to the final bill. The existing carpet and laminate was removed. New hardwood was installed, sanded and finished. After the hardwood was down, they put sample stain colors on the floor to allow me to better choose a color. They replaced old metal air vents with wood vents stained to match the floor. The end product looks great. I feel that Chris and his team are professionals that care about their work. Of course with any large project like this there is some collateral damage (stain and marks on the walls/cabinets). And a couple punch list items resolved a couple weeks later. Nothing that would prevent me from hiring them again. I would highly recommend them and would hire them again.

From the first visit for an estimate, to the day the job was complete, we felt the team was very responsive to our needs. They paid attention to the details, met the schedule and followed up promptly. We love our beautiful new flooring and would call them first for any new projects we might have.

The floors looked very nice when complete. However, there was more collateral damage to the baseboards and trim than we had been led to expect. There was also stain splashed on the walls which we needed to repaint.

I felt comfortable having them in our home wether I was there or not. You really got the feeling they wanted to do a good job for you. Ron was helpful when the time came for color selection; he applied several colors and the final selection was a custom mix. Chris and his team installed the floors and took the time to explain every step of the installation. Then Chris took the time to provide different stain colors on the floor so that I could decide on the final stain because I was unsure of what stain color I actually wanted. I would definitely use Chris and A Step Ahead again.

Tom & Chris were fantastic to work with from start to finish on the project. They were on schedule, kept me up to date on progress and did a phenomenal job on our floors. They were extremely knowledgable in describing work that needed to be done & the types of repairs that would be necessary to make it look as we wanted. From old radiator holes in the floors to uneven floor levels & even removal & replacement of old HW flooring in the kitchen the entire project turned out great! Once we are ready for the upstairs to be done these guys will get the call without a doubt!

The floors look better than we ever would have imagined. Due to renovations, we had some challenging repairs that needed to be made to the floors in very visible locations. The owner and his crew were fantastic. Their skill to repair our existing floors to match the color and finish was truly exceptional. They thoroughly prepped and sealed off the ares in which they were working to contain the dust and mess and then cleaned everything up perfectly. Would highly recommend them for your flooring needs.

Chris from a A Step Ahead Flooring did an excellent job and took quality to a whole new level. If you are looking to have the job done right, this is the company you should chose. There price was reasonable but not the lowest. They were upfront about the detailed elements that would add cost to complete the highest quality level that were overlooked by others who quoted. Chris takes pride in the work he does, and is genuinely gets excited about his work. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. They worked the hours and days of the week needed to completed the job as promised.

Chris at A Step Ahead Flooring is great at what he does. He is a pleasure to work with. He listened to the look we were going for and gave us options to choose from. He installed wood flooring in two rooms which were previously carpet and blended the new wood into our existing wood flooring in the foyer and kitchen areas. We went from very old lightly colored floors that had yellowed over time to a new darker stain color. Chris and his crew did a great job and the new floors look beautiful! They kept the dust to a minimum and cleaned up nicely at every step. I would not hesitate to recommend A Step Ahead to anyone!

They finished the work a week ago. He did give me a discount which would be $250 so I was happy about that. I have multiple other properties so he is biding on them now They do an excellent job refinishing floors. All professional. All other quotes I got were higher from other vendors, so he is a great guy. A great service provider. I am going to give him 3 other jobs now.

AWESOME!!!! Chris was the most amazing guy to work with, as well as his workers. Whenever I sent him a text he replied within minutes, and when I sent him an email he replied within the same day. The only thing that my husband and I had to do was move furniture. Chris covered all the kitchen cabinets, and put plastic up as a divider from the kitchen and family room. Every night when I came home there was no evidence of him being here!!! He is very nice, personable, professional, and offers suggestions and/or ideas. He finished the job on February 13, 2017 and I am still texting him with questions and he still replies within minutes. He has never once made me feel as if I was bothering him. We had a slight problem with the vents on the floor not fitting correctly. I called him and explained, and he was out here in a few days to fix, and they are now perfect!!! We told him that we didn't want the risers of the stairs stained as we were going to have them painted. Well we totally forgot about the riser on the step that goes down from the kitchen into the family room, therefore he didn't stain it, as he was told not to stain risers. Now that the inside of the house is being painted we noticed that riser. I contacted him a week ago explaining what happened and his reply, "Let me know when they're done painting and I'll come over to take care of it." A month after completing his job he is still providing excellent customer service!!!! He is a very trustworthy man and I had no issues leaving him alone in the house. We even gave him the garage code so he could come and go. The guys that he has working with him are nice, polite, and professional. Chris made me feel like a friend and not as if this was just another job for him. He truly cares about his workmanship and the people he's doing the job for. I kinda miss him. If you are looking to have your floors redone or new flooring put in, and are getting quotes you'll really be sorry that you didn't contact Chris. I really cannot say enough good things about him and I truly cannot say anything bad about him or anything negative about his work. PLEASE call him. You will not regret it!!!!!!!!!!

Chris was amazing to work with. My wife and I had a very tricky schedule while remodeling and Chris was able to work around us with no problems. The floors turned out beautiful with his custom stain color. My wife doesn't like anything but she loves our new floors. I would highly recommend Chris and A Step Ahead Flooring.
